Wanna Hear a Story?

That evening went on quietly as usual. Until finally a woman came and knocked on my door. She introduced herself as an old friend of my mother. At first my mother welcomed her with open arms. Smile broadly like someone who greets an old friend.

I didn't really want to interfere with their conversation, so I gave them some alone time. Only, moments later, I heard my mother screaming, followed by the sound of her heart-rending sobs.

"What are you saying? So all this time you knew it all! So why are you just silent Ratna? Why?!"

Mother screamed with a face filled with tears. It was the first time I saw my mother cry this sadly. Before, I'd always seen mom holding back her tears, swallowing her sadness deeply for whatever happened. Including when she have to accept the threats and cynicism of grandfather's attitude.
