Chapter 24

It was late at night, and Elena entered the room after putting her kids to sleep. She saw Alex sitting on the bed, his straight long legs crossed, his back resting against the headboard and busy with his laptop typing something, it was obviously business.

She let out a brooding sigh and dragged her legs toward her side of the bed, looking like someone tasked with the greatest impossible thing. She entered the bed and sat beside Alex, dragging the covers to her leg, and placed her head on his shoulder, her eyes fixed on the screen as he typed.

When it comes to working, he's more serious than ever. It's hard to get his attention off it.

"Tomorrow is Sunday."

"I know." He replied, his voice coming out deep.

"Which means you can do this tomorrow." She stated.

He paused, looked at her head on his shoulder, and looked back at his screen. "Is there something you want? Aren't you just going straight to bed?"
