Chapter 8

Alex knocked on the door, waiting patiently for an answer. He waited a few moments before deciding to knock again but the door suddenly opened. "Daddy!"

Alex looked down to see it was his daughter and he immediately lifted her up in his arms, giving her a smile. "Hey, princess. How are you?" He asked, entering in, and locking the door.

"I'm fine. We didn't see you. Mommy said you were busy" She pouted.

Alex nodded. "Mommy is right." He answered, looking around for her. "And where's mom..."

"Daddy!"

Alex averted his gaze towards his son bounding off the stairs with a big airplane toy in his hand. "Oh God, Xander!" He looked toward the kitchen hearing Elena's voice and she came out. "I told you, no running on the stairs." She scolded.

"I just wanted to see my daddy, and show him my new toy."

Elena looked at Alex and back at his son. "Next time, no running on the stairs."

Xander nodded. "Yes, mommy."

Elena sighed as he ran toward his dad and hugged his legs.
