Chapter 9

Elena woke up at the sound of her alarm and stretched feeling so relaxed and peaceful. She clicked the off button of the clock and let out a breath of relief.

She felt she never had a good sleep like this for a long while. She moved her head to her right and blinked remembering she shared a bed with her ex-husband. She sighed, sat up on the bed, and gave the back of her neck a massage before yawning.

She looked at the clock and her brows furrowed. She rubbed both her eyes wondering if she was seeing clearly but she still found the same thing. It was 7:23 am. "Shit." She cursed under her breath and immediately left the room.

She was late for everything.

Her kids are supposed to be in school before eight and she was supposed to be at work also.
