Billionnaire's regret: Ex-wife is an heiress

Claire laughed, her eyes had turned red but she was still keeping her cool.“You can't do this Abraham–”“Oh yes, I can. And I can do much more.” He said in an annoyed tone.“What happens to all our time together? What happened to the vows we exchanged?” Claire asked desperately but Abraham merely shrugged.“Are you slow? All that was in the past. You should move on because right here is my man.” Rebecca sneered trying to scare Claire away.Claire fisted her hands then closed her eyes. She shook her head, trying to control her emotion from taking over. She wouldn't give these idiots the satisfaction of seeing her tears. Her mind replayed all she had done to help this man. She remembered all her sacrifices in helping him rise through the ladder. Was this how he would pay her back? Was betrayal her reward for helping him all these years? Definitely not! She wouldn't allow him to throw her away like a piece of trash. She opened her eyes and saw they had walked farther from her, “Is this

John took a long gulp of his whiskey as he waited for his friend, Tony, in the VIP part of Lagnez bar. It was their regular spot to cool off. Only that, today was different, he wasn't here to catch up or cool off; he was here for something that had been clouding his thoughts—Claire. He didn't believe she was just a regular girl, there was much more to her that meets the eye. He could spot that even from the little time he had spent with her.“Already having a drink without me?” John heard a voice say and he looked up to see Tony, grinning widely.John ignored him and instead took another gulp of his drink.“Don't be like that buddy, why would you have all the fun without your old pal?” Tony laughed, snatching the cup away from John's grasp.John sighed then broke into a laugh. He knew Tony wouldn't let him be if he still had that straight face. Tony was his best friend. They had been friends right from childhood days. And even through high school, then college, they still remained ins

John couldn't stop staring at Claire. No matter how serious the conversation with potential investors got, he found himself looking for her across the room. Her elongated conversation with the stranger— whom he later discovered to be Andrew Fletcher, surprised him. Mark Jenkins didn't eventually show up. He had a video uploaded, apologizing for his inability to show up, which was apparently caused by the breakdown of his private jet. “Damn this bullshit. I know how badly you wanted to see him.” Tony whispered into John's ears. “Well, I guess it's not meant to be yet.” John waved it off like he wasn't hurt. He wanted business advice from him. He wanted to expand his territories and build his family business on the global stage, and he strongly believed that Mark was the man to speak to. “So, what do you say we take the night off, and maybe fuck some bad bitches.” Tony suggested. John hissed, “you know my answer already.” He rolled his eyes. “And what's your answer? You’re interes

Abraham sat at the corner of his luxurious apartment, staring at the most horrible message he had seen all year. His heart thumped against his chest like a raving beast that wanted to escape its cage. He didn't even realize he was hyperventilating until the sound of his breathing got into his head. “Abraham West, why are you sitting on the floor, all sweaty?” Rebecca asked, coming from their shared room. She was wearing a bum short, and a tube. “Star Grits just pulled out of the deal we were supposed to conclude this morning.” Abraham responded, finding it hard to breathe. Rebecca had rushed over to his side. She was patting him on the back to help him breathe better. “What was their reason?” Rebecca asked. “They apparently got a better offer, and they're not willing to move on with the proposed plan.” Abraham muttered. “Oh babe, I'm so sorry.” Rebecca consoled.“I put in so much effort and money into this already.” Abraham lamented. “We're going to make it back, and even better

"Are you happy now that you've seen me?" Abraham asked, raising his voice just enough to pull a few heads in their direction."I don't care about you anymore, Abraham." Claire kept her voice level, already looking for an exit."Then why are you here?" He raised it further this time, fully committing to the scene."Because I was invited." She held her ground, even as the embarrassment crept in. She couldn't tell if he was drunk or just being exactly himself."You sick little liar.""Why would I lie about being invited to a party?" Claire asked, heat rising in her chest."If you were really invited, where's your card?"Claire's stomach dropped. No one had mentioned a card. Not once in all her back-and-forth with Sasha. “Why didn't she mention a card for God's sake? Oh my goodness!” Claire thought. "Everyone here has one." Abraham dangled his card in front of her face, satisfied. "Including me."Claire panicked as she didn't have a card. Abraham was going to seriously embarrass her if
