Chapter three- Billy

I've been at Luke's most of this week, he and Shane refused to let me drink anymore after my run in with Aaron, but they did stay home with me that day and we ate a shit ton of food, barely moving from his living room until they forced me to shower and get ready for school the next day.

I thought Aurora would be pissed with me after I got Shane into a fight and gave her a mouthful when she dragged me away from the action, but the next day she told me she understood, forgave me and warned me not to make a habit out of it. Then, she started talking about the camping trip we're planning over half term and everyone acted as though I wasn't a drunken mess the day before. If Shane wasn't my mate, I'd consider banging her, just to show her my appreciation.

Anyway, it's been a few days and I've calmed down enough to go home. Luke rang my dad and told him where I was and promised I'd be back on Friday after school, so that's where I'm headed now. I won't apologise to the asshole, he still cheated on mum, but I do want to be back in my own bed. I just hope he goes to his whore's house to shag her tonight, I'm not sure what I'll do if I see her smug ugly face again so soon.

Luck is not on my side, as I round the corner I see a little red Peugeot parked in my mum's spot and I know there's only one person that could belong to.

I can't believe them, my mum's not been gone a week yet!

My temper flares and I slam the front door against the wall, readying myself for the argument I'm about to start.

The boxes in the hallway stop me in my tracks, half a dozen large cardboard boxes with room names written on them, my brain won't accept, won't allow me to understand, what's right in front of me.

"Dad." I call, my voice barely above a whisper but instead of his face, that blonde witch appears from the kitchen.

"Oh Billy, your dad will be so pleased you're home. We're having a celebratory dinner tonight." She glances at her watch and smiles at me. "In a few hours actually, why don't you go and have a shower."

"What are we celebrating?" She'd moved past me to grab another box, but she stops, her smile slipping briefly before she places her hand on my arm. My eyes follow the movement but I'm frozen in place, she lets out a shrill giggle and my gaze snaps up to meet hers. "Why, us moving in, of course, silly boy."

"No." Her grip tightens on my arm when I breathe out the word.

"Yes." She mimics my tone, moving back to a box labelled kitchen. "Your dad asked me on Monday, after you and your mum left him all alone. Poor man was so sad, so I had to cheer him up."

"You're not moving in, no fucking way." I step towards her and she sneers at me, gesturing around the hallway.

"Look around you sweetheart, I think you'll find I am." With that she picks up the box and walks into the kitchen, the door slamming shut behind her.

"Dad." I find my voice finally, striding through the house opening and slamming doors behind me. When I get to one of the spare rooms, I'm given another jolt of shock when a blonde girl in jeans and a shirt stares back at me. "Who the fuck are you?"

"No." She gasps at the exact same time, we stare at one another furiously.

"Billy, you're home." My dad pulls me into a hug and steps back awkwardly when I don't reciprocate. "You've met Elsie then? Carly's daughter."

"Why are they moving in, Dad? Mum's barely moved out, you're still married." I snap and he flinches, then meets my eyes.

"You're right, it's quick, but your mum and I haven't been happy for years. It's like we've been living separate lives Bill, I don't expect you to understand, but Carly…" The daughter scoffs and turns away from us but my dad carries on talking, as though he thinks he can sway me into acceptance. "She makes me happy Bill, happier than I ever thought possible. I'm not as young as I used to be, I don't want to waste a moment."

"I don't want them here." I tell him and he sighs, his shoulders dropping but he leans towards me and pats my shoulder.

"I understand your loyalty to your mother and that's admirable, I never wanted to hurt anyone. But we are where we are. Please try and accept it." He takes a step towards me and I step back, glaring at him to show him exactly how I feel. "Right, I'm off to get a takeaway, Indian ok for you Elsie?"

She nods and he tells us he'll be back soon. I watch him walk away, my anger swirling inside me with no outlet, except maybe... I turn and look at the girl, ready to give her a piece of my mind.

"You're not welcome here, you hear me? Neither you nor your whore of a mother."

"Loud and clear." She doesn't even bother looking at me, just carries on unpacking her stuff. I cover the few steps into her room, snatching the box off her bed.

"Didn't you hear what I said? You're not welcome here, get the fuck out." She looks up and I can see my own rage mirrored in her eyes.

"I heard you, dickhead. I don't want to be here anymore than you want me. I'd literally rather be anywhere else. She's handed the notice in on our house, so there is nowhere, ok? I'm stuck here and I hate it." She stands up and snatches the box back out of my hands, placing it carefully onto her bed, then crossing her arms over her chest. "I'm just as miserable about this as you, so unless you can think of more than useless, empty threats to rectify this situation, would you get out please?"

I storm out of the room and into my own across the hallway, slamming the door so hard the lamp falls over on my desk. Ignoring it, I throw myself onto the bed, adamant I'm not going to join them for this fake family meal.

My dad calls me down when he gets back, his face breaking into a smile when I walk into the dining room and load my plate with food.

"Billy, wait… where are you going?" My dad calls behind me as I leave the room, but I ignore him, grabbing a bottle of coke from the side before the door shuts.

I lock my bedroom door, switching the TV on louder than necessary just in case my dad decides to knock on the door, but he doesn't and as soon as I turn it off to go to sleep, the whore's loud giggles filter through the wall, followed by my dad's groans and I turn the TV back on so I don't have to hear it again.

This is ridiculous, I need to do something to get rid of her.

"Oh William, you're insatiable." She giggles again flirtatiously but all I can think is why the fuck is she so loud?

The gasps and groans go on for two hours, two fucking hours before I can't stick it any longer. I throw my covers off, let my door slam against the wall when I open it and storm downstairs. I've got no idea what I'm going to do, I just hope I can't hear them from down here, long enough to come up with a plan.

The daughter is sitting in the living room in her pjs, headphones in, lights off and watching some film on her laptop. She must have the volume up loud because she doesn't notice me come into the room until I drop down on the sofa opposite her.

She scowls at me, pressing a button on her laptop and pulling one of the earphones out.

"Can I help you?" She bites out, squeezing her eyes shut and grimacing when a particular loud scream of pleasure reverberates through the ceiling.

"Can you stop that?" I ask, pointing to the ceiling as though she's as much to blame as her mother.

"Can you?" She snaps back, placing the earphone back in and clicking the button on her laptop again.

"Bitch." I say loud enough for her to hear, but she doesn't react, just pretends I'm not in the room. So I get up, scrolling through the phone to the craziest bitch I know.

If my dad wants to behave like a whore, I'll show him how a real whore behaves.
