Result Of Mischief

Mizuki’s POV:

I start stuffing food in my mouth. I mean it was so delicious how can someone resist it. As I was eating my Sunday delight, I asked Ronesme about why she wanted to be the protector of the kingdom because as far as I knew her family runs the business of most expensive equipment manufacturing.

“Well! My family indeed runs the business of equipment that is needed for different purposes during the war. They help our kingdom's protectors in their fight too. I inspire my family’s business for it but I wanted to fight alongside them and not behind the scenes”.

“What do you mean by that? I think supporting equipment is as important as fighting alongside them”, I said and technically saying it's not behind the scenes.

“I know that but I admired protectors’ courage and their resolve to protect the kingdom”, Said Ronesme.

“Do you know how many vampires die just because they didn’t have the right equipment to fight with? The equipment that your family makes is of good quality and they support each vampire very well as compared to the cheap stuff so, you should also value equipment”, I replied.

After hearing what I said Ronesme looked a little bit sad. I didn’t mean to make her sad I just wanted her to give the same respect to equipment makers but that didn’t mean I don’t respect her decision.

“But I respect your decision. You chose it for yourself so it must be right and besides, there is this saying, “no one chooses the things for you which you chose for yourself”.

So, why did you choose to be a protector”? Ronesme asked.

“You already know that I’m from an orphanage so you must also know that the children who belong to the orphanage are not always the ones whose parents are dead or died”.

“Yeah, I do know that there are different categories of orphans like some children are abandoned by their parents due to financial problems and some children’s parents die in some kind of accident.”, said Ronesme.

“There are also those children which are abandoned by their parents right after their birth. I was one of those children which were abandoned right after birth. Some other children used to make fun of me for that reason that my parents didn’t want me to begin with. But that didn’t depress me one bit and one day I decided that so what if my real parents abandoned me, I still belong to this kingdom and this kingdom is mine. I will never abandon my kingdom and will always protect it. And being the protector was the right occupation for it so that’s why I chose it”.

“You went through so much and yet you have such a noble cause for becoming a protector”.

Mizuki: I got embarrassed when Ronesme praised me and unknowingly rubbed my head. Then I looked at the time.

“Oh! It's almost time for the class we have to go and change into our uniforms”.

“Hey! Mizuki wait for me I’m also coming with you”, said Ronesme.

“Are you sure about that? Most of the students despise me because I’m a commoner”, I asked with confusion.

“Yeah, I’m perfectly fine with it. So, what if you are a commoner. You’re still a good person. And I’m fine with anyone being my friend as long as that person is a good person”.

After hearing what Ronesme said I passed her a soft smile and ran towards the dorm along with Ronesme. After changing into uniform, I went to the classroom with Ronesme.

Everyone also came to the classroom and all of them were looking good in their uniforms. And I felt surprisingly comfortable in my clothes.

The teacher came in and introduced himself as Kamuy Richard.

“I’m going to teach you the History between vampires and humans. You will learn all about their struggles, wars, and how they separated their world so, let’s open our book, and someone please start reading the first chapter”, he said.

Sisi raised his hand and then started reading.

Kei’s POV:

As Sisi started to read I began to get impatient because Mizuki was about to begin scratching herself any time soon. It was almost uncontrollable for me not to smile.

“Hey! Kei why are you smirking like that? Is there something funny in the text which I don’t get”, Jones whispered to me.

“Huh what? No, there is nothing funny in this boring text”.

“Then why are you smiling”?

“You will soon find out”.

“It has been thirty minutes why isn’t she scratching herself like a crazy person. The potion was supposed to work in fifteen minutes. Don’t tell me that it was fake”, I thought in my mind.

“Hey! Kei why do you keep scratching your neck? It’s becoming red so stop it”, said Jones again whispering.

I noticed that I was scratching myself. “Why the hell I’m scratching myself? Oh no. Itchiness is increasing. I can’t stop scratching myself”, I said in a loud voice.

Everyone started to stare at me even the teacher stopped and put his book down. Then Mizuki started saying politely:

 “It seems like someone has a bad allergic reaction. You must’ve gotten close to something from which you were allergic. Am I right”?

Kei: After hearing what she said I looked at her and saw her grinning. I could no longer contain my anger within my body.

“You! You did it. But how”?

“I don’t know what you are talking about”, said Mizuki. She was clearly playing dumb how come no one else saw this.

“I think you should go to see the nurse instead of blaming innocent people”, said Yuki.

“Kei you are allowed to go to the nurse's office so, don’t create commotion in the class”, said Mr. Kamuy.

“I’m going to the nurse's office for now but you won’t get away with it Mizuki”.

“Mizuki what Kei is saying is it true? Did you really do something”, Mr. Kamuy asked?

“I did nothing Mr. Kamuy. I was with Ronesme all the time. You can ask her if you want to”.

“Ronesme is this true”?

“Yes. Mizuki was with me all the time”, said Ronesme.

“Well then let’s continue our lesson. Lorain start reading from where Sisi stopped”, said Mr. Kamuy.

Mizuki’s POV:

In Flashback. “Ok, Ronesme I’m going to change my clothes”.

I went into the room and opened my closet to change. When I opened it saw that something was strange in my closet.

“What’s this? I didn’t hang my uniform in that direction. I’m pretty sure that it was facing the side of the closet's wall. Even the Tie is opened even though I tied it down. My Jewelry boxes weren’t placed in this way either”.

Maybe it’s my imagination. I picked out my uniform from the closet. The moment I grabbed my uniform I picked up a familiar smell. What’s this smell? It’s faint but it’s still here. It almost smells like an itching potion that we use at the orphanage to get rid of stubborn magical baboons who try to steal food.

“I can’t believe that someone came into my room and messed with my uniform. But who did”?

I picked up another familiar sent. I followed it and went to the door. It was also on the outside knob of the door.

“This sent it’s the same as Kei. So, he came to take revenge huh. I will give him his own medicine”. I opened a portal of mana using my ability which led me to the orphanage. When I entered it, I saw Miko sitting near the table.

“Hey, Miko! What are you doing”? I asked.

“Working on my project. Why did you come back? After school authority came raiding in the orphanage just to get your stuff, I thought that you won’t be coming back till summer vacation”.

“Yeah, I won’t be coming back till summer vacation. I came here because I had a little favour to ask. Would you please purify my uniform with the help of your purifying ability”?

“It's your first day and you already messed up your clothes”, said Miko.

I laughed awkwardly. “Ahh ha ha ha you know how clumsy I am. So, please do it”.

As Miko started to purify clothes “You know sometimes I feel like you use my ability as your personal washing machine”.

What? No, poof what are talking about. You are imagining stuff”, I said while hiding the obvious fact and Miko found about it and was looking at me with an indifferent expression on her face.

“Oh, and can you give me itching potion too”?

“And for what you need it”, she asked?

“Don’t you think you are asking too many questions? Pay attention to your own business and give me the potion”, I replied.

Miko made a pouty face. “Here you go I’m done with the purifying and take this potion too”.

At this, I suddenly hugged her and said,” Has anyone ever told you that how much I love you”

“You don’t need to flatter me. I already know how much you love me”, Miko said with a taunt in her tune. “You give me cringes”.

“Okay bye!” I opened the portal to school and went through it.

“Ok so let’s go to Kei’s room”. I unlocked Kei’s room with the help of a hairpin and went in.

“He doesn’t even know how to organize a room. Because of his weird setting even this big room looks so cramped”. Well, whatever I’ll do my thing and get out of here.

I opened his closet, took unform out, and sprinkled the potion. “This should give him a lesson”. End of Flashback.

“And that’s why you should never mess with me”, I thought in my mind.
