Chapter 24
The car was almost about to hit her when she was suddenly pushed away by someone.
They both fell to the ground. The car quickly speeded away and disappeared.
“Are you okay?” the person asked.
She looked around and saw that it was Drake who had just saved her.
She nodded at him.
He helped her up and examined her closely.
“Did you get hurt?” he asked her with a worried look.
“No, I’m fine. Thank you, Drake.”
“Your welcome. It would’ve been a terrible accident if I didn’t save you.” He said looking relieved.
“I checked before I crossed the street but that car came out of nowhere. My mind went blank when I saw that car coming towards me.” She explained.
“You don’t have to explain to me. Some people drive like crazy. That idiot must’ve been drunk.”
"What about you are you hurt?" She asked.
"No, I'm fine. Thanks for asking. You here with Andrew?" He asked.

The next morning Angelina woke up with a headache. She groaned as she tried to get up. She stopped realizing that someone was holding her. She looked at the arm around her in shock, then she looked up and saw Brandon who was sleeping peacefully. She yelled, freaking out about what had happened. “What? What? He was still fast asleep when his phone rang. He got up tiredly and answered his phone. There was a piece of paper stuck on his face. “Hello. This is Andrew Bloom speaking.” He answered in a sleepy tone, without looking at the caller ID. “Were you sleeping?” Clara asked. He looked at the caller ID with a frown and then answered her. “Yes. I was going to rest my eyes but I ended up falling asleep.” “If it was one of your employees I bet you would’ve given them an earful.” She said. Andrew rolled his eyes. “Haha, very funny.” He said sarcastically. “I wasn’t joking but I’m glad you found it funny.” He shook his head a little and realized that something was stuck on his face. “What are you doing?” he asked taking the piece of paper off. “I just got off work and am heading home. What about you are you still at your office?” He looked at the time and realized that it was way past working time.

“Clara!” she heard Leo’s voice. She looked up and saw that Leo and Jasmin were running towards her. Her tears started flowing again. She got up and ran towards Leo. Clara was stuck inside a dark place. She kept running and running until she found Andrew. She saw him coming towards her but then he stopped when he was close to her. She dumped herself into work to forget about Andrew. She was immersed in what was in front of her that she didn’t notice Angelina calling her until she waved her hand in front of her.
