Evelyn's POV

I couldn't do anything. After making me drink from that goblet, he disappeared again. It was getting harder to catch him. I watched him leave with no regret on his face. Did he even think about how we were connected more closely now that I accepted him as a mate?

Thoughts only crossed my mind the whole time. I even felt helpless, wanting to give up, just becoming one with the grass I was lying on.

He left me again...

I gasped, bolting upright and taking in my surroundings. I was back in the car, Jace was driving the car and the others turned to me.

"You're finally awake," Clara said with relief washing over her face.

"What... happened...?" I grunted, clutching my head.

"You want the full version or short version?" Janice asked.

I frowned, a headache kicking in. "Short version, I guess?"

"Okay so we found you after 2 days and you stayed unconscious for more than 2 days. Right now we're going back to the pack house."

I was unconscious for 4 days?

"What about Xavier?"
