Reina/Ina

I woke up when I felt a soft touch on my forehead.

Opening my eyes, I caught Elena checking my temperature. Startled, her eyes widened, and she immediately pulled her hand away.

"I’m sorry, Ma'am. I was just worried. I thought you had fallen sick."

She bowed her head, repeatedly apologizing for disturbing my sleep.

I sat up and ran my fingers through my hair, giving her a reassuring smile.

"Hey, it's alright," I assured her. "I don't mind being woken up."

I let out a soft sigh.

  • Blood Legacy   Chapter 9

Reina/InaA week passed by quickly. During those days, the stitches on my shoulder and side were gradually healing, allowing me to move around more freely without much pain. And within my week-long stay here, I couldn't deny that I was growing closer to Zach and Elena.Every night since I was discharged, no matter how tired he was from the hospital, Zach always checked up on me and made sure I took my medications. I couldn't help but feel grateful.I woke up to the sunlight hitting my face. The unfamiliar silence of the house felt strange. Elena wasn't around today because she had mentioned last night that she would be visiting her family since it was her day off. I guess I was already getting used to having her around. Usually, at this hour, she would already be in my room cleaning. I let out a sigh.I stayed in bed for a few more moments before deciding to get up. I reached for my phone under the pillow and checked the time. It was still early, but I had no intention of going back t

My gaze drifted to the tray on the bedside table. A meal was prepared there, along with a glass of juice and some medicine on the side. Elena followed my line of sight. Clearing my throat, I looked back at her. "Uh... did I sleep for a long time?" I asked shyly. She smiled at me, picked up the tray, and carefully placed it in front of me. "About an hour, I think, Ma'am. Sir had your food and medicine sent up here so you wouldn't have to struggle going downstair

  • Blood Legacy   Chapter 7

Reina/InaI got into his car, and for the entire ride, I remained completely silent, just staring out the window. He tried to ask a few questions, but I only gave short answers. He probably sensed that I was still feeling a bit awkward, so he stopped trying to make conversation. Before long, the car entered a subdivision. We pulled up in front of a modern two-story house. It was nothing like our mansion, which was packed with antique furniture and heavily guarded, but it looked noticeably expensive with its structural design. There was a small, beautifully landscaped front garden with colorful flowers that gave off a very peaceful aura."We're here," Zach said casually as he turned off the engine. He stepped out first, walked over to my side, and opened the door for me. "Careful, you might stretch your stitches." He gently assisted me as I stepped down. When we walked through the main door, I noticed the minimalist interior, with the furniture all styled in shades of gray, white, and

  • Blood Legacy   Chapter 6

Reina/Ina Three days passed quickly at the hospital. During those days, I gradually felt my strength returning, but along with it came an overwhelming sense of embarrassment that I could barely hide. I was used to being in control of everything. But here at the hospital, even going to the bathroom and taking a bath required assistance from the nurse Zach had assigned to me. Whenever the nurse came in to wipe my body or help me walk to the bathroom, I could feel my face heating up with embarrassment. It was incredibly awkward for me to be this weak and dependent on someone else. “Good morning, Ina,” a familiar voice greeted me. I turned toward the door and saw Doc Zach walk in, holding my latest medical chart. He looked like he had just come from another long shift, but his posture remained as composed as ever. “Good news. Your stitches are healing well, and all your vital signs are stable,” he said with a smile. “You can be discharged today.” I let out a deep breath. I was final

Reina/Ina The next morning, the sun rose early, but it remained cold inside the ICU. I felt as though a little of my strength had returned. Although my shoulder and side still stung whenever I took a deep breath, I tried not to show any signs of weakness. I lay in bed, staring at the door as I waited. I knew that Alejandro’s contact from the Silver Team could arrive at any moment. At exactly eight in the morning, I heard the familiar sound of heavy footsteps in the hallway. The door opened, and Zach walked in for his morning rounds. Just like yesterday, he wore a white lab coat over his blue scrubs, standing straight and composed. He held a clipboard, and his stethoscope hung around his neck. “Good morning, Ina,” he greeted me as he approached my bed. He immediately checked the monitor to read my vital signs. “How are you feeling today? Do your stitches still hurt?” “I’m feeling a little better, Doc. It’s easier to breathe now,” I lied in my hoarse, gentle voice. He gave me a s

Reina/InaI needed to find out what was happening in Spain."Excuse me," I called softly to the nurse. "Could I borrow your phone? I just need to call someone... quickly."She hesitated for a moment, but perhaps she felt sorry for me because she eventually handed me her personal cellphone.I quickly dialed an international number I knew by heart—the secret line of Alejandro, the trusted Commander and right-hand man of House Monteverde in Spain. It rang several times before a familiar, deep voice answered."Hello? Who is this?""Alejandro... it's me. It's Reina," I whispered, keeping my voice low so the nurse wouldn't hear me. She was busy writing something on my chart.I heard Alejandro let out a sharp breath on the other end. His shock and fear were obvious."Reina! Dios mío, you're alive! We've been looking everywhere for you! The entire council in Spain is in chaos right now. Are you safe? Where are you?""I'm safe for now, Alejandro. I'm in a hospital," I answered quickly, brushin
