Twin's Party

Something heavy hung in the air as Lily and I got dressed for the party. We hadn’t talked about what happened. As Lily was putting my dark red hair up into a half bun our eyes met in the mirror. She chuckled while turning a bright red color.

“So I guess you’re wondering what happened?” She asked me. I remained stoned faced while still cringing on the inside.

“Are you two mates? Or has this been happening for awhile?” I asked.

“No it just happened. When we got to the pack house I thought I felt something. When we split up I went down to the second floor and there was already a wolf taking care of the rooms, I guess your mom forgot. Kyle found me and it was clear that we are mates. Your mom found us and ordered Kyle not to mark me until after the party.” Lily said in a rush almost not taking a breath.

She sat waiting for my reply. Turning I smiled at her.

“You know I’m happy for you. I’m glad you found each other so fast. But you turned 18 last month so wouldn’t you have known for at least that long?” She looked at me with wide eyes blinking for a bit. “You are the best.” she pretty much screamed making me deaf in one ear while pulling me into a bone breaking hug.

Standing in my closet looking at us in the mirror with Lily straightening out her light pink dress completed with her tan skin, hugging her curves perfectly. With her platinum blonde hair with slight curls in it. Being the future Luna of Opal moon she has to look gorgeous because her father still thinks she needs to find her mate.

I on the other hand have my dark red hair up in a half bun which matched my red dress. Making my blue eye seem lighter. I have always loved my hour glass shape I got from mom. A small golden locket I never took off since my parents gave it to me on my 15^th birthday and our matching silver high heels finished our outfits perfectly.

After we were done admiring our selves we headed down to meet my family. On the ground floor my mom was in a beautiful dark blue dress that made her porcelain skin seem to glow while she ran after my younger two brothers who are dressed in suits that match my dad’s and other brothers. Dad and Chris are greeting Alpha Greg, Lily’s father. Once they have gotten the formatives out of the way Kyle and Lily approached both dads’ to tell them they are mates. I went to Chris so I didn’t have to be alone.

“You look a girl for once.”He said as I walked over while he laughed.

I punched him in the arm and he yelped. Being one of the best warriors in the pack had its advantages which included being able to keep up with my older brother’s.

“You don’t look half bad either.” I smirk making Chris laugh.

As Chris and I were joking about some of the guests and them being stuck up when we greeted them, a limo pulled up and the King and Queen where escorted out. Behind them were two of the hottest men I have ever seen, the prince’s.

During the party I couldn’t get anywhere near my older brothers meaning I had the rotate around the room and actually interact with people which was not one of my strongest attributes. Chris was entertaining future and current Alphas wanting to get in good with our almost new Alpha so I stayed as far away as possible even when he shot me a look that screamed ‘save me’. Kyle was hanging on Lily the whole night and they were being fawned over seeing as Lily was the next Luna of Opal Moon both brother’s would end up being Alpha, when we were younger dad used to make jokes about Kyle being their backup child incase Chris didn’t make it to 18 it wasn’t a popular joke to say the least. I on the other hand was keeping my two younger brothers, James and Eric, out of trouble being only 5 they were energetic and very much a handful. As I was stopping them from starting a fight and grabbing the training sticks I had no idea where they had gotten; I looked up to see a bright smile that covered from ear to ear, Shane the future King. I quickly bow.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t see you” I blurt out as my cheeks start to get hot. I just know I’m blushing uncontrollably as my breath started to increase in pace along with my pulse why did he have to be so handsome.

“It’s ok you seem to be the only person I haven’t spoken to tonight. What’s your name? Are you the nanny to the Alpha and Luna’s youngest?” he asked. That received a giggle from my brothers as they scampered away no doubt to make trouble for someone in the pack and give mom another heart attack.

“Um, no I’m Scarlett Black. Nice to meet you.” I said as I stuck my hand out to shake his without thinking about it.

“I apologize, at the palace siblings do not take care of each other. Would you like walk with me?” He asked me. “It’s just I love evening walks in the palace garden, but I have never been to this pack before. I would hate to worry my parents if I got lost.” He continued with a smirk pulling the corner of his mouth up.

“Of course your highness, I would be honored.” I said dropping my still outstretched hand to my side. As we left the pack house I turned the corner and walked straight into Jamie the second prince. “Blind are we?” he said as he stamped out the cigarette he was smoking.

“Ignore my little brother Scarlett. He may be outgoing but he can be quite rude at times.” Shane said to me without taking his eyes off Jamie.

“Trying to get yet another suitor are we future king?” Jamie shot back at his brother.

That’s right Shane has just turned 18 but he cannot find his mate because he has been engaged to some princess of another part of the wolf world, west I think.

“She is accompanying me for a walk. She seemed to be bored inside and I thought I would make a friendship with one of our subjects.” Shane said without emotion.

He placed a hand on the small of my back and sparks shot up my spine from the contact. Pushing me gently past his brother.

“Be careful with that one Scarlett he’s engaged you know.”Jamie shouted our way before returning inside to the party.

“Please excuse my brother he can be hard at reading social situations.” Shane said as we entered the garden beside the pack house. I nodded and smiled without looking at him trying to focus on keeping my breathing regular with the shocks still being sent up from his hand.

“So tell me about yourself Scarlett.” He said so softly I shivered.

“Well.” I said managing to clear my throat so the words would come out. “I am 17 and looking forward to end of school, I am an alright student I guess, Math is my favorite subject apart from Mr. Franks.” I said giggling to myself at his boring voice.

“This Mr. Franks is he a good teacher?” Shane asked looking at me with a raised eyebrow. Making me stifle my giggle and nod.

“Oh yeah he is it’s just he can be really boring his voice certainly wouldn’t inspire anyone. Anyway English is my worst subject by far. I just confused and I don’t know I guess I’ll never a great writer but according to my mom I’m destined to be a great Luna or pack wife.” I said smiling at him to try and hide the blush that seems to have taken permanent residence on my face.

“Being in a school with boring teachers would be a great thing. I was taught by a multitude of tutors and people my parents hired for Jamie and I. It was quite lonely at times without having that interaction with other children.” His voice sounded sad while never showing it.

“I’m sorry you missed out on that experience. It’s not all great I mean there are bullies and bad cafeteria food. I guess even if we were home schooled it wouldn’t have been too bad the only bullies would have been my big brothers but once dad let me start training I could take them so I would have been fine.” I said making him laugh; it was a sweet natural laugh that made a smile spread across my face.

We had been walking for about an hour when my feet started screaming at me for walking on the grass in these heels Lily had picked for us but before I could say anything Shane’s eyes clouded over.

“Mother just mind linked me they are preparing for us to leave so I our walk is unfortunately over.” His voice had another hint of sadness in it making me blush once again.

“Of course we should head this way back to the pack house.” I said turning the corner towards home.

We had wondered further than I thought and I stopped and took my shoes off making me feet happy and I saw a smirk on Shane’s face before he returned to his neutral face he had been wearing most of our walk. As we reached the edge of the driveway and saw his family climbing back into the limo he turned to me and grabbed my hand sending shocks up my arm. He bent down and kissed the back of my hand.

“Thank you for walking with me I know my parents wouldn’t have let me out of their sight if I wasn’t in the company of someone from the pack.” I couldn’t remember how to breathe making him smirk again this one he didn’t hide though.

“Goodnight Scarlett Black I will be glad to see you again hopefully soon.” He said in a low voice before he turned and climbed into the limo closing the door so I could only see my reflection in the window I gave into my lungs begging for air and sucked in a breath
