MasukElina
They both stood in front of me, drawing the attention of everyone in the room. They stopped their work.
“Today, I will be introducing someone,” he said in a monotone voice. “Lora Moreau, who will be the new manager.”
I suddenly lost focus, my eyes trembling at Jonathan’s statement.
How could this happen…?
Then Lora spoke. “Nice to meet you all. I’m Lora Moreau, and I will be your manager.” Her voice was soft. She deliberately looked at Jonathan and smiled.
“Thank you for introducing me to them, Jonny.”
I saw her still hooking her arm around Jonathan’s. Coupled with the way she called his name so intimately, it left a bitter feeling.
They were far too close. During this time, I thought they didn’t even look like step-siblings.
“Sir Jonathan himself introduced her. What do you think?”
“I’m sure that woman isn’t just an ordinary woman.”
The conversation beside me made me immediately look over. Two women were eagerly watching the interaction between Jonathan and Lora.
One of them touched her chin. “I’m sure she’s Sir Jonathan’s girlfriend.”
My heart ached violently. How could I hear another woman being considered Jonathan’s girlfriend?
All this time, our marriage was hidden; no one knew I was his wife. Jonathan and I always kept our distance at the office.
While I kept my composure, respecting his decisions, he stayed by another woman’s side so that everyone assumed she was his girlfriend.
Lora… she was getting everything I had never received.
The work I had painstakingly handled would now be her credit, and she was right beside Jonathan.
It should have been mine.
In this situation, my blood boiled, and I desperately wanted to push them apart immediately.
After that announcement, I didn’t waste any time and immediately went to Jonathan’s office.
“Jonathan, what did you mean just now?” My voice was hoarse as I struggled to hold back the explosive emotions in my chest.
I saw him still standing there, relaxed, as if nothing had happened. It felt like my feelings were being ignored.
Now, my patience was gone.
“You walked in with her. Introducing Lora to everyone,” I emphasized my words.
“I’m the CEO here, introducing her to the others is normal,” he said.
His words were suffocating, and I clenched my fists tightly.
If he said something like that, he should treat me the same every time I did my work exceptionally well.
I never received a welcoming word or a thank you.
“You never do that for me…” my voice was barely a whisper as I looked down.
I took a deep breath, letting myself say it all.
“You want me to hand over my work to her… I won’t do that, Jonathan.”
Finally, Jonathan reacted more clearly when I brought this up. He no longer looked relaxed.
He glared at me. “Don’t act like a child, Elina. You have to give it to her.”
I ground my teeth at his nonsense.
I had worked on that project for months, often staying up past midnight just to make sure everything was perfect. But now, someone else would think it was Lora who did it.
“No. I completed it.”
What the hell was wrong with him? He still looked so agitated when he heard what I said.
A moment later, he lowered his head and let out a long breath.
“Elina, don’t make everything harder than it has to be.” He looked at me. “Lora is part of our family. We have to help her.”
For some reason, my anger flared even more deep inside. How could he say something like that?
“Yes, she’s part of the family. But this company isn’t hers; she works here and is just a project manager.” I let the words flow out firmly.
“She can’t just take credit for someone else’s work.”
It drained me. The intense emotions gave me a headache, and my chest pounded with anger.
“I can’t just give away my work. You have to give me a stake.”
“I will give it to you,” he replied.
This was shocking. He said it rather quickly.
“I will give you shares, for you and for our child in the future. Doesn’t that mean there’s nothing left to worry about?”
I never expected him to bring up a child. It turns out Jonathan is thinking about a future together.
I knew I had just been overwhelmed with anger. But I thought now was the right time to talk about my pregnancy.
“Jonny, Elina, please, don’t fight just because of me.”
Before I could speak, Lora entered the office and positioned herself between us.
She held my hand. “Elina, I’m sorry… Jonny only did that because he wants to help me.”
Her voice was gentle, but it carried all the discomfort straight to me. Seeing her touch my hand, I immediately pulled it away in disgust.
“Jonny always knows how to help me, Elina. Please, don’t be mad at him.” She touched the corner of her eye, as if she were crying.
Hearing her words and seeing Lora’s behavior, I felt no relief at all.
She let herself cling to Jonathan again.
Damn it. The tightness in my chest grew stronger. I felt like this situation could get even worse, especially since our argument could be overheard, she hadn’t closed the door properly.
I decided to leave and talk about my pregnancy later at home.
This isn’t over; I couldn’t calm down because Lora was following me.
Behind me, she spoke again, her soft voice cutting through me.
“Jonny always treats me well. He can never get mad at me and will give me everything I want.”
“Even that project.”
She said it deliberately.
“Yes. It’s fine, he gave me company shares.” I responded seriously.
Look at her distorted expression.
She really seemed unable to let go of me, even as I entered the elevator.
“My advice, better go to work than keep following me, Lora. You might mess up things.”
“You still think that—”
BAM!
Suddenly, a loud crash sounded along with the elevator shaking. The lights flickered at that moment.
“What’s happening…?” Lora asked, her eyes wide with fear.
Another jolt hit before the elevator finally plummeted.
“AAAAA!”
We both screamed as the elevator slammed hard.
A sharp, unbearable pain shot through my stomach, so intense I had to clutch it.
“Please…”
I couldn’t move; my body went limp.
“Lora! Are you in there?!”
Suddenly, I heard a scream. I was sure it was Jonathan, but he kept calling for Lora.
Lora continued crying beside me. Finally, the elevator doors opened, and Jonathan immediately carried her.
“Please… save me first…” my voice was so weak, even with all the strength I had left.
I saw his back. He was about to disappear from my sight.
“Jonathan… please…”
I managed to get his attention. He stopped and finally looked at me.
“Elina!”
His eyes shifted between me and Lora in his arms. When he heard Lora’s whimpering, he finally seemed more certain.
His gaze turned away from me.
“Wait for me.”
With that, he left me while carrying Lora.
I watched through blurry vision as several people approached me.
My hands trembled as I pressed against my stomach.
“My baby…”
It truly hurt. As the people held me, I finally lost consciousness.
ElinaI had just woken up, and when I picked up my phone, the first message I saw was from Lucius.I’m working. It’s really complicated dealing with this task.Without realizing it, I smiled as I read his message. It was as if I could see his expression directly.I knew he must be frowning, his eyes rolling slightly—looking genuinely annoyed with his work.I mean, all this time my parents had said that he was someone incredibly outstanding at work. He could do his job perfectly, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t feel bored or irritated.Slowly, my fingers typed a reply to him.You can definitely handle it well.Maybe you’ll end up punishing your assistant again. Now I felt a bit sorry for his assistant, but I knew they could handle it.And after sending the message to Lucius, I looked at Raven’s messages. He hadn’t replied at all since yesterday.Since he was taking a week off, it would be quite a while before I could see him again. All I knew was that he was spending time with his fam
POV 3The peaceful life she once imagined now seemed to be turning complicated. In a room filled with a suffocating atmosphere, Lora hadn’t said a single word. Her hands were clenched into tight fists. Her thoughts were growing darker than ever.“If only she had died back then…” she muttered under her breath, her voice filled with deep hatred. When she saw Elina fall to the floor, bleeding, she didn’t feel even the slightest bit of pity. Instead, she immediately shifted attention to ensure her goal was achieved. But now, the man she once loved seemed to have changed direction—wanting the woman he used to hate.Lora’s jaw tightened. She recalled their recent encounter with Elina—she looked better now, her life seemed to shine. The necklace Elina wore back then looked familiar—something expensive, a special edition that stirred her jealousy. But she convinced herself it was fake. And when she saw the man beside Elina, her entire body tensed. He was handsome and seemed kind. Even as she
LoraI told the truth—so why didn’t Jonathan seem to like it?As he looked at me sharply, his jaw tightening, my anger still burned intensely… especially over how our relationship had fallen apart.I never wanted this.If only I had been able to stop him from marrying Elina back then, the Jonathan I loved so much would never have changed. He would still be by my side. What was wrong with me knowing about Elina’s pregnancy anyway? If she lost their child, he could just have one with me.“I… don’t hate her,” Jonathan finally said, his voice trembling.I scoffed. Once again, his answer was infuriating. He shouldn’t have said that. Not only was it untrue, it made me sick.Looking at him with contempt, I said, “You hate her… you always complained to me about how annoying she was…”It was like he had forgotten everything he used to tell me.“So… do you like her, Jonny?”I gathered all my courage to ask him. Clenching my hands tightly, I was afraid I would hear an answer I didn’t want.Jonat
JonathanAs I woke up, I couldn’t hear clearly. It took a while for my vision to return to normal, even though my head throbbed painfully.I grabbed my hair tightly, groaning over and over.“Sir… sir…”Barron’s voice echoed, but I didn’t respond. I was still focused on myself.Struggling to get through this state, I finally managed to sit up slowly, breathing heavily. Only then did I realize I was in my room—a place that felt empty. I knew Barron must have brought me here.“Jonathan… you’ve really been suffering from overworking yourself.”Rose’s expression was full of concern. But I didn’t like seeing her. My feelings turned bitter and hollow as I remembered what Lora had done.Still trying to steady my breathing, I realized Barron was holding my hand—and I pulled it away. All this time, I had considered Rose as family. I thought of her as my mother and allowed her to do as she pleased. She had always been treated well.I never expected there would come a moment like this, when the r
JonathanI held myself back for the past few days and ordered Barron to gather more information I needed regarding Elina and Lora.Gripping the armrest of my chair tightly, I tried to steady my breathing. My feelings were far from good, and I still didn’t clearly understand what I truly wanted.I need Elina. I love Lora. I care about both of them. There has been so much between the three of us.In the past, I often treated Elina coldly. My grandfather’s harsh words were the cause. Every time I looked at her face, his praises and comparisons echoed in my ears. And Lora… she was always there, speaking gently. She always tried to encourage me. I knew we cared about each other, but lately, something felt wrong, making me uneasy.I needed the truth. In the end, I returned to my work, slowly reading documents and finishing them one by one.Elina is very important. She often helped me—things that were complicated could be handled by her very well.Often, when I saw her, she was busy with the
ElinaI didn’t want to cause another misunderstanding, so I immediately hugged him tightly.“Wait a second,” I bit my lower lip. “I can’t breathe.”I really meant it. At first, Raven kissed me gently, but then it became more intense than before.“I’m sorry.”His voice sounded a little different this time—strangely familiar to my ears, though I thought it might just be because we had just kissed.Against his chest, I spoke, “It’s not your fault.”For now, I just wanted to calm myself. My heart was still pounding so fast, as if it might burst out earlier. And in the silence, I realized I could hear a heartbeat—loud and strong.I tilted my head to the right, and at that moment I could feel Raven’s heartbeat racing so fast.Amazing.I didn’t expect Raven’s heartbeat to be just as wild as mine. I couldn’t believe he would react like this, considering how calm he usually was.Biting my lip, I figured maybe it was because he was used to his heart racing during competitions, so he could handl
ElinaI couldn’t stop thinking about it after hearing directly from Baker about what had happened to me.If only I had asked him sooner, I would have known the truth earlier. It made me feel a little embarrassed, like someone who didn’t know how to be grateful. When we met and he looked at me like
Elina“If you keep looking up like that, your eyes will hurt, miss.”I snapped back to reality, lowering my head and giving a small shake. He was right. The sunlight was making my eyes sting a little.I froze when Raven suddenly took my hand, guiding me to a more shaded spot, covered by the shadow
ElinaI could feel someone carrying me at that moment, because my body felt like it was floating.Unfortunately, I couldn’t see clearly, and I couldn’t think very well either. All I did was let out a small laugh, as if nothing had happened. When I finally woke up, I immediately looked around in sho
ElinaHe looked a bit awkward as he nodded.I smiled. I had been waiting for moments like this—wanting to show my abilities, wanting others to acknowledge what I could do.So I acted immediately, pressing several points on his wrist and guiding it through a range of motion.Raven’s hand seemed to m
