Lucien didn’t move.

For six hundred years, he had believed his brother was dead.

He had watched Adrian’s coffin burn beneath the ancient vampire rites. He had mourned him. He had carried the guilt of his brother’s death for centuries.

And now…

Adrian stood before him.

Alive.

“Adrian,” Lucien whispered.

His brother smiled.

“I wondered if you would remember me.”

Kael stepped in front of Aurora.

“Stay behind us.”

Adrian laughed softly.

“The great Alpha King.”

His eyes moved over Kael.

“Still protecting what doesn’t belong to you.”

Kael’s golden eyes flashed.

“Careful.”

Adrian’s smile disappeared.

“You have no idea what you’ve stepped into.”

Aurora stepped forward.

“Why did you attack the council?”

Adrian looked at her.

For the first time, his expression changed.

Curiosity.

“So you’re Aurora.”

She tightened her grip on the Blade of Selene.

“You know my name.”

“I know much more than your name.”

Adrian descended the stairs slowly.

“You are the reason I’ve returned.”

Aurora frowned.

“Why?”

“Because your blood can break the curse.”

Lucien’s eyes narrowed.

“What curse?”

Adrian looked at his brother.

“The curse you placed on me.”

Lucien stiffened.

“I never cursed you.”

“You don’t remember?”

Adrian laughed bitterly.

“Of course you don’t.”

He lifted his hand.

The vampire army behind him stepped forward.

Six hundred years ago, Lucien and Adrian had been inseparable.

Brothers.

Princes.

Future rulers of the vampire kingdom.

Until the night of the Blood Moon.

A night Lucien had spent centuries trying to forget.

Adrian looked at Aurora.

“Your mother knew the truth.”

Aurora’s heart skipped.

“My mother?”

“She knew what happened to me.”

Lucien stepped forward.

“Enough.”

Adrian’s eyes flashed.

“You want the truth, brother?”

He pointed toward Lucien.

“Ask him why the Moon Goddess erased my memories.”

Aurora looked at Lucien.

“Is that true?”

Lucien’s face remained unreadable.

“I don’t know what he’s talking about.”

Adrian smiled.

“Of course.”

He looked at Aurora again.

“But you will remember.”

The Moonstone beneath Aurora’s clothes suddenly burned.

She gasped.

A vision exploded inside her mind.

She saw a young Lucien and Adrian standing beneath a blood-red moon.

They were arguing.

Then came a flash of silver light.

A woman appeared.

The Moon Goddess.

And beside her…

Aurora’s mother.

Aurora stumbled backward.

Kael caught her.

“What did you see?”

She stared at Lucien.

“You knew my mother.”

Lucien went completely still.

Adrian smiled.

“Now you’re beginning to understand.”

Aurora’s voice trembled.

“How did you know my mother?”

Lucien looked away.

Aurora’s heart sank.

“You lied to me.”

“I was protecting you.”

“From what?”

Lucien’s silence was answer enough.

Aurora stepped away from him.

“You knew her.”

Lucien finally spoke.

“Yes.”

“When?”

“Before you were born.”

Aurora’s eyes filled with tears.

“Why didn’t you tell me?”

“Because if you knew the truth, Morgana would have found you much sooner.”

Adrian laughed.

“Still lying.”

Kael stepped between the brothers.

“Enough.”

His voice shook the hall.

“Whatever happened between you two, Aurora isn’t responsible.”

Adrian looked at him.

“That’s where you’re wrong.”

He pointed at Aurora.

“She is the final piece.”

A strange mark appeared on Adrian’s palm.

A black crescent.

Aurora’s silver mark responded instantly.

Pain shot through her chest.

She cried out.

Kael caught her.

Lucien moved toward her.

But Adrian spoke one final sentence.

“Your two mates aren’t the only ones bound to you.”

Aurora looked up in horror.

“What?”

Adrian smiled.

“Your mother’s bloodline created three bonds.”

He looked directly at Lucien.

“One to the vampire.”

Then Kael.

“One to the wolf.”

Finally, he touched the black crescent on his palm.

“And one to me.”

The sanctuary’s prophecy suddenly made sense.

Three souls.

One bond.

One destiny.

Aurora’s blood ran cold.

  • Bound By Two Moons   The Mark Of The Moon

Aurora woke to the sound of her own heartbeat. Thump. Thump. Thump. It echoed through the darkness of the sanctuary as though the ancient walls had become a second chest around her. She opened her eyes. The first thing she noticed was the moonlight. It poured through the cracks in the stone ceiling, silver and impossibly bright, illuminating the chamber in a strange, almost sacred glow. The second thing she noticed was the pain. Her hand burned. Aurora lifted it slowly. A silver crescent-shaped mark had appeared on the center of her palm. She stared at it. “What is that?” “It wasn’t there before.” Lucien. His voice came from behind her. Aurora turned. The vampire king stood several feet away, his dark coat torn from the battle outside. There was dried blood along his jaw, but his eyes were fixed entirely on her hand. Kael stood beside him. Unlike Lucien, the werewolf king looked furious. Not at Aurora. At the mark. “What did the Moon Goddess do to her?” Kael dema

The battlefield went silent.Aurora stood beneath the blood-red moon, the Blade of Selene glowing in her hand. For the first time, the vampires and wolves were no longer fighting each other. They were standing together.Morgana stared at them from across the battlefield. Her expression had changed. The confidence was gone.“You think bringing them together makes you powerful?” she asked.Aurora lifted her chin.“No.”She glanced at Lucien. Then Kael. Then Adrian.“It makes us stronger.”Morgana’s eyes flashed violet.“You still don’t understand.”She raised both hands. The ground beneath Ravenfall split open.Dark smoke poured from the cracks. One by one, shadow creatures climbed out of the earth. They had no faces. No eyes.Only long claws and glowing violet mouths. The vampires backed away.Even the wolves hesitated.Kael growled.“What are those?”Adrian’s expression became grim.“Nightborn.”Lucien looked at him.“I thought they were extinct.”“They were.”Adrian stared at Morgana

Ravenfall erupted into chaos. The castle gates exploded inward as wolves charged through the courtyard.Vampires poured from the towers, their crimson eyes glowing beneath the blood-red moon. And behind them came the Royal Hunters, armed with silver blades and enchanted arrows.Aurora stood at the center of it all.For one terrifying moment, she couldn’t move. There were too many.Too much noise.Too much blood. Then Kael grabbed her hand.“Stay with me.”Lucien appeared on her other side.“And stay between us.”Aurora looked at them.“I’m not hiding.”Kael gave her a small smile.“I know.”Lucien drew his sword.“Then fight beside us.”A howl shook the battlefield.Kael transformed. His enormous black wolf form charged into the crowd, knocking hunters aside as he tore through the battlefield.Lucien moved like a shadow. One moment he stood beside Aurora. The next, he was surrounded by enemies.Silver weapons struck at him, but he moved too quickly for them to land.Aurora raised the

The scream echoed through Ravenfall.Aurora froze.Every instinct inside her told her to run.But there was nowhere to go.The massive gates had slammed shut behind them, sealing them inside the vampire kingdom.Lucien stood perfectly still. His crimson eyes scanned the dark castle.“Stay close to me.”Kael stepped beside Aurora.“Or me.”Lucien glanced at him.“This isn’t the time.”Kael’s jaw tightened.“For once, I agree.”Aurora looked between them.“Can you two save the arguing for after we figure out who’s screaming?”Neither answered. They moved forward. The castle courtyard was enormous, surrounded by black stone towers and statues of ancient vampire kings. Yet there wasn’t a single guard in sight. No servants. No nobles. No movement.Only silence.Aurora shivered.“Where is everyone?”Lucien’s expression was grim.“Ravenfall should never be this quiet.”They reached the entrance. The massive doors opened by themselves.Aurora immediately grabbed Lucien’s arm.“Was that suppos
