Chapter 26

After Albert left Lucian's workroom, he went to the attic to bring Violet dinner. Violet, who was sitting on the chair, immediately stood up when she saw Albert walk into the room and stand before her. “I brought you dinner,” he said into her eyes, smiling warmly. “Thank you, sir,” she said and tried to smile back at him.

He put the food on the tray in his hands on the table next to them and looked back into her eyes. “Eat your dinner now before it gets cold,” he said. She nodded obediently and sat in the chair. Then he sat in the chair opposite her.

He sighed sadly inside as he watched her eat. She didn't enjoy her food at all, she just chewed and swallowed. Her sad eyes said she had to eat to stay alive.

“Fate is so cruel to her. She's still so young, but she's been through a lot of suffering,” he said in his mind. He furrowed his brows in thought. He wanted to find the answer to his previous question. “This week our king will marry Princess Selina,” he said.
