Chapter 41

The moon and stars smiled, peeking at Lucian from the window in the reading room. Lucian was sitting on the sofa in the room, crossing his legs with his index finger on his lips while his thumb on his chin. He didn't read the book, he just kept smiling. He was relieved that since morning Selina had not come looking for him. 

This morning he got up early and went to his uncle's room and stayed there. He sighed as he closed his eyes. He felt like a mouse hiding from a hungry cat. 

He opened his eyes when he heard the door to the room open. He suddenly felt like a mouse found by a cat when he saw Selina walking into the room with a bottle of wine and two glasses in her hands, and stopped before him. "There you are. I was looking for you," she said with a sweet smile on her face. He forced himself to smile back at her.
