Althea's POV

The howls grew closer.

I stood frozen in the sitting room, surrounded by women who looked worried but not terrified. They moved around calmly, gathering children closer and whispering to one another like this was something they had experienced before.

Meanwhile my entire world had just shattered into pieces.

Men turning into massive wolves right in front of me. And Xavier? The cold, cruel man who had treated me like a problem he wanted to erase, he was one of them.

  • Bound To The Alpha Who Broke Me   Eight - Breaking Through Walls

Althea's p.o.vI woke to sunlight streaming through unfamiliar windows. For a disoriented moment, I couldn't remember where I was. The bed was too large and too soft. The room smelled like pine and smoke. Then it all came rushing back.I was in Xavier's bedroom. In his private space. The photographs of Emerald scattered across his desk. Yesterday's Dr. Chen's examination. Marla bringing dinner while I sat in Xavier's bed like I had any right to be there. And that raw, broken howl that had echoed through the forest long after darkness fell.Xavier was calling for a mate who would never answer. Everything came at once. I sat up slowly and looked around his suite with fresh eyes in the morning light. There were no decoration except for those photographs of Emerald. Everything was clean and organised, but it felt empty. Like a space someone had stopped living in and just started existing in.He had given me his room. His most private space. And he was sleeping in the couch of me. The tho

  • Bound To The Alpha Who Broke Me   Seven - The Doctor's Visit

Althea's P.O.V Before I could talk myself out of it, I walked over to the dresser. Three photographs sat there in simple wooden frames. The first was a group photo. Dozens of people gathered in front of the main house. Xavier stood in the center. He was younger but unmistakable with those silver eyes. He was smiling. Actually smiling. His arm was around a beautiful woman with long dark hair and warm brown eyes. She was laughing at something, her head tilted toward him. My chest tightened. That must be Em! I didn’t know her fully but it had to be her. The way Xavier looked at her in the photo like she was his entire world made something twist painfully inside me. The second photo was just the two of them. Close-up. Xavier's forehead pressed against hers, both of them with their eyes closed. In love. The third photo made my breath catch. It was her alone. A Professional portrait. She wore a simple white dress and smiled directly at the camera with such joy it hurt

Althea's POV The howls grew closer. The biggest one on top of that. My mind kept trying to reject what I had seen. Trying to find some rational explanation. Mass hallucination. Elaborate special effects. A complete mental breakdown on my part. But I knew what I had seen. "Sit down, honey." Marla gently guided me into a chair and wrapped a blanket around my shoulders even though I wasn't cold. "You're shaking." Was I? I looked down at my hands. She was right. They were trembling violently. "I think I might pass out." I admitted weakly.

  • Bound To The Alpha Who Broke Me   Five - Breaking Point

Althea's POV I was packed and ready in less than an hour. Not that I had much to pack. The borrowed clothes Marla had given me. My ruined phone with its shattered screen. My wallet with my license and one credit card. A hair tie I had found in the bathroom. That was it. Everything else had been in the car that was now apparently destroyed beyond repair. I sat on the edge of the bed and stared at the door, waiting for Leo to come get me. My chest still ached. That dull pressure hadn't left since I had arrived here. If anything, it was getting worse. A constant tight feeling that made it hard to take full breaths. Maybe I really did need to see Dr. Morrison the second I got back to the city. Maybe the stress of the crash and being held prisoner had triggered something. Maybe my body was finally rejecting the transplant after one stable year. That had to be it. It had nothing to do with Xavier Sandalio. One hour. Then I would be gone from this place forever. So why did leaving

  • Bound To The Alpha Who Broke Me   Four - Silver eyes and Secrets

Althea's POV Xavier's office was nothing like I expected. I had imagined something cold and sterile just like the man himself. Instead, the room felt warm. Sunlight streamed through tall windows overlooking the forest. There were painting everything in shades of gold. A large desk stood in the center with papers arranged neatly beside a laptop and a steaming coffee mug that smelled like dark roast. It looked like someone actually worked here and actually lived here. For the first time since arriving at this place, something felt almost... human. And somehow that made everything worse. Because it was easier to hate a monster than to hate someone who drank coffee and read books and kept their office warm with sunlight. Xavier stood near the window with his back to me. He didn't turn when I entered but somehow I knew he was aware of my presence. He had probably known the exact moment I had stepped through the door. Obviously, he told me to get in before even knowing who it was.

  • Bound To The Alpha Who Broke Me   Three - Questions Without Answers

Althea's POV When I woke up the next morning, the memories hit me all at once. The accident. My car spinning out of control on wet pavement, tires screaming and the world tilting sideways. Dark and endless rain pouring down so hard I could barely see. That massive wolf that had appeared out of nowhere, standing in the middle of the road with eyes that glowed silver in my headlights. And the man with silver eyes who had carried me here. Who had looked at me like I was something he despised. Something he wanted to destroy. I could still feel the ghost of his arms around me. Still smelt rain and earth and something wild that had clung to his skin. My chest tightened just by remembering it. Not with pain though. I sat up slowly in the unfamiliar bed and looked around. Morning sunlight filtered through the window, illuminating wooden walls and simple furniture. The room smelled faintly of cedar and earthy and it reminded me of the forest outside. It should have felt peaceful.
