After a long shower, I dried myself and headed out of the bathroom.

It was still morning, but the heat was already oppressive. I wiped the sweat away with the towel, opened the window, and let the air-conditioning flow inside. It was quiet, just like it had been yesterday.

A loud knocking on the door interrupted the silence. Before I could usher the person in, the door was pushed open and Valeria sauntered in. "Good morning," she said.
