She tried to wrench herself free, her voice sharp and venomous. "I don’t need his protection. Or yours. So you just go and fuck yourself."

Damn! Just the mention of Kael was enough to anger her. Poor blackwolf.

Her words did not anger me. Instead, I kept her firmly in place, my arm still around her waist.

She glared at me with fire in her eyes. "Let me go, you jerk."

"Alright," I murmured, then leaned in to steal a quick peck on her lips before retreating my hand and freeing her.
