FAZER LOGIN[Employees' Room]
Vanessa sat quietly in a corner of the employees' room, her mind replaying the encounter from hours ago. She could have sworn she had heard that man's voice before. But where? She was so lost in thought that she didn't notice Rachel entering the room. "Vanessa." No response. "Vanessa!" Rachel called again. Still nothing. With a sigh, Rachel walked over and gently tapped her shoulder. Vanessa blinked, snapping out of her thoughts. "Huh?", she asked confused. "Any problem?" Rachel asked, studying her face with concern. Vanessa hurriedly stood up, instinctively reaching for her cleaning tools. "Uhm... yes, there is," Rachel said. "I've been calling you for the past five minutes, but it seemed like you were on another planet." Vanessa let out a small breath, realizing Rachel was only worried. "I'm alright," she forced a smile. "Just thinking about what's waiting for me at home." It wasn't exactly a lie. Rachel's expression softened with pity. "Just take my offer," she said gently. "You don't have to stay there forever, you know." Vanessa lowered her eyes. "I know, Rachel. I've told you I'll think about it... but I can't just leave like that." She paused before adding, "I still have a lot to take care of. Don't worry... it'll all be over soon." Rachel stepped forward and wrapped her in a warm hug. Vanessa slowly returned the embrace. "Thank you," she whispered, tightening her arms around her friend. Rachel smiled before pulling away. "C'mon. It's almost time to clock out." With that, she walked out of the room, leaving Vanessa alone once again. The silence returned. Vanessa stared blankly at the floor, her thoughts drifting back to the house she dreaded returning to. She had only said those words so Rachel wouldn't worry. Rachel had been more of a sister to her than her own blood sisters had ever been. She had endured years of pain, insults, and abuse. But how much longer could she keep enduring? 'Could she ever escape this?' Vanessa said her goodbye to Rachel before leaving the hotel. Instead of taking a taxi, she decided to walk home, hoping to arrive late enough to avoid whatever punishment awaited her. By the time she reached her neighborhood, it was almost dark. She decided to wait outside for a while until she was sure everyone in the house had gone to sleep. Unknown to her, a black luxury car had been following her the entire time. Inside the car sat Devian. He hadn't left the hotel at all. He sent his secretary while he waited till she closed from work. He had watched her walk all the way from her workplace to her house without stopping once. His gaze remained fixed on the mansion before him. She works as a cleaner... yet she lives in a place like this? The thought didn't make sense. Just then, his phone vibrated three times. 'Informant' written on his phone. He answered the call. "Speak," he said coldly. "About the information you asked for, sir. I've already sent it to your email." Without another word, Devian ended the call. He unlocked his phone and opened the message. *Name: Vanessa Brown *Age: 21 years *Date of Birth: July 20th, 2003. *Mother: Amelia Brown (40 years) *Father: Thomas Brown (42 years) *Siblings: Mira Brown (18 years), Anna Brown (18 years) *Highest Level of Education: High School 'That's all?' ********* Vanessa looked up at the mansion. One by one, the lights went out until darkness swallowed the entire house. She hugged herself against the chilly evening breeze. They should be asleep by now... Taking a deep breath, she quietly pushed open the gate and tiptoed inside. Devian's attention remained fixed on the report displayed on his phone. By the time he looked up, Vanessa had already disappeared behind the large iron gates. His eyes lingered on the mansion for a few more seconds before he slipped his phone back into his pocket. "Let's go," he said. The car slowly drove off into the night. ******** Vanessa quietly snuck into the house. The security guards were no where to be seen neither were the guards in sight. She carefully tiptoed up the stairs, making sure not to make a sound. Every creak of the wooden floor made her heart pound. When she reached her bedroom door, she froze. Please don't be locked... Slowly, she turned the doorknob. It opened. A sigh of relief escaped her lips. She hurried inside, reached beneath the small cupboard where she had hidden her spare key, and quickly locked the door behind her. Leaning against the door, she listened carefully. Silence. She counted to ten. Nothing. Maybe... Maybe they were really asleep. Only then did she allow herself to breathe. "I'm safe..." she whispered. For now. She pushed herself away from the door and walked toward her bed. She wanted nothing more than to have a warm bath and wash away the day's exhaustion, but she didn't dare. The sound of running water might wake someone. Then she suddenly remembered something. My phone. She immediately opened the top drawer. Nothing. She searched the second drawer. Still nothing. "Please..." she whispered under her breath. She knelt beside the bed and reached underneath. Only dust. She searched beneath her thin pillow. Empty. She pulled open her wardrobe, checking every shelf. Nothing. Her shoulders slowly slumped. "It's really gone..." she murmured.Vanessa paused, holding her breath and silently hoping she wasn't the one being called. She stood there awkwardly, unsure whether she should continue walking or turn back and pretend she hadn't heard anything. Her heart pounded against her chest as she slowly looked towards Mrs. Ashford. “I'm talking to you, and when I do, you answer.” Mrs. Ashford turned to face her fully. Vanessa swallowed hard. Mrs. Ashford's face was now completely void of emotion. There was no warmth in her expression, only coldness as her eyes moved slowly over Vanessa from head to toe. “Who are you, and what are you doing here?” “Umm...” Vanessa tried answering, but the words wouldn't come out. She opened her mouth again, but nothing came. It was as if her brain had suddenly shut down, leaving her standing there helplessly under Mrs. Ashford's intimidating gaze. Her eyes slowly shifted towards Devian, silently hoping he would help her. “Madam, I... I...” “She’s just here for her cleaning job. She’s a clea
[Azure Hotel and Suites - Devian's Suite] They had both started eating, but of course not without Devian having to practically force Vanessa to eat. She sat across from him, eating slowly while still looking slightly uncomfortable with the whole situation. She wasn't used to sitting down and having dinner on a dinning table at her home talk less with him like this, especially when she knew she was supposed to be working. “Where's your phone?” he asked. Vanessa immediately looked at him with an 'I don't trust you look' . Devian couldn't help but laugh a little. “I don't bite."he paused. Seeing she still didn't give a response, he continued." It's okay if you don't want to give it to me.” She simply nodded, no longer bothered by the question, faced her food and continued eating. She must admit that this is the best she has eaten in days or years? She stayed focused on her food trying to savor the taste and the feeling. For a while, neither of them said much. They were bo
“Please, I really need to get home,” she said, hoping he would change his mind. Of course, he knew her trick.“That won’t work. You’re supposed to be with me until after my dinner, right?” She nodded. He slowly stood after releasing her hands, then settled beside her. Vanessa quickly sat up and turned her back toward him, hiding her blush. Devian smirked, already aware of her reaction. She quickly stood up. “I’ll go get your dinner ready.” He shook his head.“There’ll be no need for that. It’s already been taken care of. Let’s go.”He stood up, walked to the other side, and held his hand out to her. She hesitated for a moment before taking it. He then led her outside. As they headed out, Vanessa kept thinking about how much trouble she was in.'I’m so fired.' But then another thought crossed her mind.'Why is he so cool about all of this? And why is he holding my hand?' “You okay?” he asked when she sighed without realizing it. She nodded her head, still wondering why he was asking.
[The Browns Residence] The house was unusually quiet as no one was at home. Mira had the place to herself. She was in the backyard, enjoying the swimming pool. The afternoon sun reflected across the surface of the water as she swam from one end to the other, completely lost in her own world. She surfaced, pushing her wet hair away from her face before taking another deep breath and diving in again. She had been there for more than an hour. She hadn't noticed that there was someone watching her and was very close to her sight of view. Ethan stood near the glass doors, his arms folded across his chest. His gaze remained fixed on Mira admiring her, but his mind was somewhere else entirely. He hadn't planned on coming here but couldn't help him self. He had tried several ways to approach her but she didn't budge. .l His thoughts kept returning to everything that had happened lately—the way Mira had been acting, the way she always avoided him. He sighed quietly. He really lik
She froze. Her eyes slowly shifted downward. An arm was wrapped around her. Her heart immediately began pounding. Who's this? Where am I? She inhaled a deep breath. She remembered waiting for her boss to return before she fell asleep. For few minutes, she had already forgot her current situation. He must be very mad at me. On the other hand, Devian was still wondering what Vanessa was doing. He knew she was awake, but he heard no sound coming from her. 'Hold on.' Then she realized. This is my boss's room, but whose hand is this? Her heart skipped. It can't be. She closed her eyes and took her lips into her mouth. She began to turn slowly, trying not to wake whoever it was. When she turned fully and saw him. "Ahhhh!" Vanessa shouted out loud, unable to stop herself. As Vanessa screamed, Devian forgot his pretense and quickly sat up. The first thought that came to his mind was his mom finding out that Vanessa was in his room and had even slept there. He acted witho
"Vanessa" No response. "Vanessa." He called her name again. Still nothing. He gently shooked her shoulder. She didn't even stir. He sighed. "You must have been exhausted." For a moment, he considered waking her again. Instead, he carefully removed her shoes and pulled the blanket over her. He was about standing up he lost his balance then fell on her. He looked at her hand she had already held unto him without him knowing. He tried to stand up, but her grip on his shirt was too tight. Very unexpected for a girl her size. "Please, don't go", Vanessa said as tears flowed out of her eyes. He softened at her tone. "You must be really stressed out" he held her chin. "I definitely would have loved to take you from here but you are too fragile for my dark world." he paused for some minutes. "But don't worry, I'll definitely be by your side always. This is a promise from your husband" he smiled so wide. He tried to adjust himself to the other side of the bed care
