*Chapter seven*
Esther's POV
I walked into Mr Donnelly's office after he asked me in. Meeting him on his chair with his Beta. It's been so long since I had new information for him that's why I went to Houston to begin with,to get the whereabouts of pertrova's child.
"Please sit," He called on my attention, as I took a sit opposite to his. "Any news?"
"Not much, but it's a girl." I informed, while taking a sip from my coffee.
"Pertrova's child is a girl" I watched him mutter. "It's been so many years now...she'll be all grown up."
"Twenty three to be exact, I'll be leaving for Memphis there's some news she went there after her mother's death." I finished giving him sternly look. It was obvious he was tired, the slightly dark circles under his eyes gave it all away.
"Well, you look well..." I said sarcastically, watching his eyes turning wild and raucous.
"I guess I'll have to say thank you to that" He chimed, understanding my intended words,he threw another look at me. Though just few years older than Cameron, the facts never changed. I always regarded him as a brother, even way before we met. I owe that to Alpha Derrick. After everything he did for my late mother and I. It was the least I could do,to help them out of this wreaking curse.
"Thanks Esther...If you need anything, don't hesitate to give me a call." He said as one of his guards came into the room. "Kaleb, what's the matter?" He questioned examining the breathless guy.
"It's LLLuna,She's not here. Not long ago Gabi and her went into town." Kaleb greedily drew in some air. "Luna was really down and Gabi only wanted to cheer her up." He felt the need to say more, dreading his wrath.
"What! Where did they go so late?" Alpha Cameron yelled, his facie evident with rage.
"To Little Micky's" Kaleb stuttered, taking a step backwards.
"A night club? Is Gabriella insane?" I could see smokes literally escaping from Mr Donnelly's head as he gave Mitch and Carter a look before getting up on his feet.
"Do you need help" I say also on my feet.
"Thanks Esther, but you need rest, you have done enough already" He said as he took his exit.
It wasn't in my place, but when I heard he found his mate I was really elated by the news. He indubitably deserved happiness.
And I swore to help in any way to rid them of this curse. I made my way to the guest room where I'll be spending the night before leaving tomorrow in search for her...our only hope.
Davina's POV
"Gabi when you said you know what will cheer me up,I didn't know you meant this." I sighed looking around watching people dancing, drinking and even making out as the music vibrated through my bones.
"Come on Davi,if you won't tell me what's bothering you,you should have fun. I risked a lot bringing you here." She said offering me a drink.
"What's this?" I asked eyeing the glass suspiciously.
"It's Martini...drink up for me" she prodded, giving me her puppy dog eyes.
"You know I could never resist when you make that face" I gulped it down as she ordered more rounds handing it over to me.
"Gabi it's enough. One of us need to be sane to drive." I refused after many rounds watching the totally drunk Gabi.
"Come on" She begged, putting her head on the table when she jumped in fear. "Who the hell are you?" Her drunkened voice squealed at the guy who snaked his hands around her waist.
"Let's dance baby" The guy said, reeking of alcohol, trying to conjure the most sexy voice ever but was failing wholly.
"Let go of me" Gabi shouted with what seemed like a whisper as he placed several kisses on her neck.
Disgusting.
I glared at him, controlling myself from pouncing on him. "She's not interested, why don't you hop on the next train." I said sarcastically, noticing his eyes wandering around my body.
My whole body stiffened. Was he seriously checking me out?
"Maybe I will" He replied moving closer to me.
A mistake on his part.
His filthy hands on my skin trailing down, causing the hair on my skin steer in disgust.
Suddenly a familiar feeling hit me,I couldn't help but get drawn back to my past, that unfaithful night that monster tried to force himself on me.
"Stop,Stop!" I repeated, as my nervousness grew, feeling my energy escaping me. My inner self begun unlocking my attack mechanism. This wasn't good. I tried not to remember what I had done to that monster later that night.
I closed my eyes, trying to calm myself. 'Stay calm...stay calm.' I repeated severally as if reciting an anthem. I felt my ever protective bracelet on my wrist, ensuring me of it's presence. Instantly my nerve was calmed. I had it on,therefore I couldn't slip up and make a mistake.
Still in my thoughts, I felt his finger stroking my lips,he was only a breath away.
And he pushed it.
I opened my eyes, every glass in the club shattering, causing great pleasure to my ears. I gave the drunken lunatic a hard slap on his face making him loose his balance.
I didn't stop,I kept prodding further, smashing the life out of him.Something deep within me kept on screaming to stop. Something was wrong and I knew it. I still had by bracelet on and this much disaster happened... That was the truth my inner thought was yelling to my head. But I was so gone now. I couldn't stop,I didn't want to,they all deserved worse. The whole club was a mess due to all the broken glasses around. I shut my self out, oblivious to the pleas I received to let him go,oblivious to the frightened Gabi, oblivious to the almost lifeless guy who was on the floor.
I raised my hand to strike again when I was grabbed and pulled away from the man.
I didn't turn to see who had held me but I knew who it was. Sparks and tingling sensation all erupted causing my body to function in an entirely different manner.
Cameron.
I hated the effect his bloody touch always had on me. "Calm down...Calm down Davina" He called my name for the first time, not addressing me as he usually did. 'Miss Pierce.'
His hands firm on my waist,he turned me around to face him, giving me a bear hug. My heart beat resonated with his, he rocked me with his hands going up and down against my back.
"There" he said as I calmed down removing his hold on me when I raced to the phased out Gabi, I could sense her fear of Cameron. I drew her in for a hug when Mitch rushed to her side...
"Are you alright" She only responded with a nod,Carter and Cameron came closer.
"What the hell were you thinking Gabi, you two coming here" Cameron snapped as I stepped in front of Gabi.
"Calm down,it's not her fault, I forced her to take me here so if you want to be mad at someone be mad at me." He went silent for a while, shooting me a serious gaze, before saying "It's a good thing you nothing bad happened. Let's all get out of here"
Then we made our way out of the club, not without sparing that little punk a final glance. I rode with Cameron,it wasn't consensual while Gabi with Mitch and Carter, hoping she'll calm down.
After arriving at the house,I walked straight into my room a hobby I got addicted to after something horribly has gone wrong for the day, subsequently pleading to Cameron not to scold Gabi which he reluctantly agreed to.
'Huff' I sighed cuddling up to my bed.
'Another rough night it was' I said, smiling thankfully I was able to get my mind off the nightmares have been having steadily. I let out an subconscious smile remembering Cameron, when my fists cried out painfully reminding me of the wound I incurred while smashing him up. "Owwww".
Third person's point of view Ten years later It's been ten year since the eldest child of Cameron and Davina was stolen. It's also been ten years since the war, and the attacks and massacres on Packs and Covens have been reduced. The remaining Vampire Kings ensured peace by enacting rules in their kingdoms and on their vampires to keep serenity and most importantly to ensure the safety of humans. During this ten years, Alpha Cameron helped other Packs get back on their feet. Those Packs that was affected by Darwin's attacks were rebuilt and Packs whose Alpha and family died were succeeded by their Betas. Alpha Cameron also helped several Packs and Covens with finances, trainings and infrastructures. He ensured none was lacking. The magical world remained nothing but midnight stories and fantasies to the human world. The Crescent Moon's Pack expanded it's borders and gained more territorial lands. Four more mansions were built few distance from each
Cameron's point of view The war was over. We attained victory. Darwin and his armies lifeless bodies were scattered in our territory, and also that of Rowena and her witches, even the pathetic traitor, Alpha Henry was killed during the war. Mitch's words rang in my head, but I couldn't even be ecstatic. I couldn't be happy for our victory even if I wanted to. Atleast not right now. Not when my mate is in that state. Luckily, the Elders and Alpha Dimitri were still around, they were kind enough to take care of things in my absence. It's been exactly an hour since Rhona and the Pack's head doctor asked me out of the room to tend to my mate and there's still no word. The Pack is well aware of their Luna's condition, they've been making prayers to whosoever is up there for my mate and pup recovery. I was still sitting in front of the infirmary door where my mate was being looked after when I picked up a chaotic stir in the air, followed by fast heartbeats. Without thinking twic
Davina's point of view I breathed in calmly. I was near the clearing field where we waited for Rowena. I could hear the swift movements of the enemy armies. They kept drawing closer and closer. I closed my eyes, breathing in the nature's magic coming from the earth, the air and the blood moon hanging up. The fast movements of Darwin's armies drummed my ears as I could feel their stench in my nose. They were almost onto me. I knew it was time. I pulled my hands mid-air, my fingers dancing, swaying to the rhythm of the concentrated magic around me. And in an instant, I snapped my hands watching the armies in sight drop dead on the ground from the snapping of their necks. I smiled, turning to the south of where I stood. I did the same when the enemy armies were in sight. I had positioned at the north direction, when an overpowering wave of magic ran through me. It caused me to loose my balance and stumble on the bloody dirt on th
Rhona's point of view We all stared blankly at the night's darkness, gazing up at the sky. It was a full Moon already, soon it'll become a blood moon due to the Lunar eclipse. A thundering growl echoed. It was Alpha Cameron. It was meant to inform everyone the war is almost at our door. I turned to the witches, nodding at them, everyone knew exactly what to do. Those who weren't fighting in the war had made their way to the underground bunkers and it has been concealed to protect them. I gazed at the sky once more, then a gentle but fierce wind blew to the point it shook me. I gazed around when the Luna met with me. "The wind was blowing from the northeast. This isn't good. Something big is coming our way. A storm that will destroy us all" There was a shivering in my bones. "What is it? You don't mean the war, do you?" She questioned. I wish I could tell her more.
Cameron's point of view My hands rested firmly on the railings of the second floor. We were at the mansion. Even from a mile away, one could feel the vibrations from the Packhouse and around the territory. I curled my lips into a smile, it was nice seeing so many people from different supernatural root in one place, united. I loved the view from up here. Suddenly a sick shiver ran down my spine and Vittorio felt it more. I exhaled, exhausted. It was hard being optimistic, shouldering so many burden while still giving hope. Truthfully,I was worried about the war. It was the last day already, and in few more hours we will battle for our lives and existence. I couldn't help but be worried. This was Rowena we were talking about, she has been preparing for this moment almost her entire life and I'm worried. I feel something terrible was going to happen, even though we were prepared for this war. Suddenly
Cameron's point of view I sipped from the cup of coffee on my table. My bloodshot red eyes kept going through some of the Company's business files Travis emailed over that needed my attention. After I was done I looked into the Pack's business I need to attend to under the Pack's name. Like the Pack's high school which needed a new curriculum, I also needed to visit the new Pack's hospital that has just been constructed. I was done signing the cheques needed for the Pack's finances. I stretched out from my seat, looking deep into the forest. Vittorio have been itching for a run, and temptingly that sounded nice. I rubbed my chin, decisively. It was pitch dark outside but I could still hear the loud noises coming from outside the mansion walls. The clashing of metals, howling of wolves, even the smell of the sweat. It's been four days already, and so far so good we've began training for the war
