I saw Davina, she was bleeding from her arm as she fought them...
I was astound. I mean who could have thought she could fight so damn well. Again a lot of things I do not know about her.
Just then another fledgling lunged at her from behind making her stumble on the floor.
My blood boiled.
I let out a growl, running to her side before the other attacked. I grabbed a wood from nearby, staking it into him as the other four face widened with recognition, they knew me and it was a fucking good thing. I'm certainly going to enjoy ripping their heart out.
How dare they attack her? The more the thought, the more I was enraged. I took another look at the remaining four, they had a foreign scent. They were doubtlessly not mine. I'll never make the mistake of turning something like that.
I am an Alpha wolf and not a Vampire King. I have used my Vampire powers and gifts for the good of my pack. They all love and trust me regardless. We are all one and the bloody war between Vampires and Werewolves, weren't our concern, being half of both gave me the advantage to ensure that the Vampires stays clear off my territory and with the reputation of mine, they did.
Well not until now,I guess today isn't their lucky day.
"We are sorry Master,we-" one of them begun and with my Vampire speed I hurried to their side, chunking another stake to their hearts,I would prefer the ripping but I wouldn't want Davina to see that and start asking questions.
"Are those -" She got up on her feet as I helped her up not finishing her statement.
"What?" I asked innocently.
"What are they?" She finally said pointing at the them.
"I don't know" Lying again out of this.
"But It looks like he knew you"
Again with questions. I heard thumping sound. They were obviously more approaching. I didn't want anymore mistake from them that will lead to more questions. I jerked her up. "We have to go" This time, there were no questions. She nodded and we started running towards house.
And to my surprise, she ran straight past into the house. I paused, as she turn back staring at me.
"Well aren't you coming?" She questioned, her eyes bulging out.
"Wait, you see the House" I ignoring her question.
Her sarcastic hat was on."Did you bump your head or something, why wouldn't I see the house." She moved on ahead into the house leaving me perplexed as I saw Mitch coming out from the house.
"Cameron is everything okay," He said.
"She saw the House, I wasn't holding her but she could see it." I took a breath. "She passed through the barrier spell" As the words left my lips it was improbable.
I understood there that something was wrong. I needed answers.
"Should I get Rhona." Mitch offered.
"No... Get me Esther"
Davina's POV
"Gabi, please get out of the way" I pleaded desperately not wanting to hurt her.
"Davina,I can't let you go back into the woods, Cam. will kill me" She repeated for the umpteenth time.
I stared at her not knowing what to do anymore. It been hours now without my bracelet,I was getting impatient and the more impatient I got,the more I'm prone to slip up and do something I'll regret.
I soothe myself ,thinking of various ways to leave to find my bracelet. I needed it,it always kept me on check. I had no fear of exposing myself anytime I had it on.
There was only one way out and that is through Cameron. Immediately, I dashed out of my room to his office.
'Not there',then I made my way to his room and been in the state that I was, I flung open the door without a single finger on the door.
I marched in not prepared of what I was going to see.
I stood frozen with him at sight. My eyes wondered from his dripping wet hair down to his exposed bare chest that showed each curves and abs of his.
'Well damn those!' My eyes continued down to the loosely wrapped towel that hung on his waist.
Well now it was evident he'd be staring at me. I kept an unreadable expression as my eyes met his.
I held his stare but I couldn't help but feel that something deep in his amber eyes were saying.
'You like what you see girl'
I shrugged it off realizing I practically forgot what I came here for.
"Sorry..." I said turning my back to him, giving him privacy. And in some minutes, he was all dressed up.
"And how can I help you?" I turned around to see him staring up at me with an almost unnoticeable smirk.
"I am going out, tell them all not to stop me" I can't believe I'm saying this,I pouted. Trying to keep my cool.
Asking for permission was so not my thing and he knew it. Last week he gave me evidence for the debt payment.
And ever since the guy have been taunting me..blah blah and blah. I should have read that damn contract after all.
"Why? For what? Did something happen?" His questions took me by surprise as his face seemed to have a glint of worry. Was it just my imagination?
"I lost something while running" I simply said. "I have to find it,I really need"
"What is it?"
"Though I don't see the need telling you,but it's my bracelet" He didn't utter a word for a while, just stared at me.
"Okay...let's go" With that he got up on his feet and went through the door.
"Wait, are you going with me?" I mumbled trailing after him as he gave me a nod.
We reached far into the woods retracing our steps right from the fighting spot back to the House,we kept on searching relentlessly getting tired when I stepped on my track causing me to loose balance,I struggled to steady my feet on the floor but with no success. I braced myself for the harsh impact of my fall but it never came.
The only thing I felt was a warm feeling around my waist, looking up to find myself in the arms of Cameron. I could feel heated sparks erupting from where his hands touched my body.
Slowly he helped me find balance,I tilted my head a little coming an inch away from his face, his eyes still glued to mine. I could feel his heated breath on my skin, his eyes roaming carefully as it landed on my lips.
He took a gulped down as if he was having a conceded battle inside of him.
I wanted to pull away, but couldn't quite gather up any ounce of strength. Something deep inside of me loved this, loved the way he looked at me. I noticed his eyes beginning to change color from his dreamy amber eyes to a flash of silver-golden eyes.
Quite slowly, he moved his head closer to mine not taking his eyes off my lips.
'What's happening?' I thought, My heart beat started skipping thrice it's normal rate and I could swear he noticed it. He came closer and closer and closer, and just then-
"Davina-" A feminine voice called out causing me to jerk away when he quickly reached for my hair pulling out a thorn which had found it way there.
Our eyes adverted gazes, looking at the overly excited Gabi whose smile slowly faded when she met Cameron's.
"I'm really sorry..." She choked on her words,a bit of fear vibrating from her.
I looked from Cameron to the overly fearful Gabi. "Have you found it"
She skipped, her smile returning. "Yes I did" She held it out.
Gosh I felt nothing but sheer joy. "Thanks a lot"
"Can we go now?" He walked past us as we followed suit. After arriving at the House I went straight to my room, closing the door behind.
I sat on my bed quickly putting on my bracelet. I almost lost it. Thankfully, the day's casualties wasn't so severe, just up to the point of her almost loosing her sanity.
I sighed, what matter the most was I didn't end up exposing my self. I laid on my bed after changing into my nighty clothes. I couldn't help but compliment Gabi's taste. She really knew me well and the kind of clothes I loved since it was her that helped out in getting the clothes.
I yawned, feeling my eyes growing extremely heavy. Today has been an awfully long day. My mind drifted to those men in the woods. Something was definitely wrong with this place. I also knew them.
Not them per say their kind. Vampires. Their fangs didn't quite go unnoticed. But why did they stare at him like that. He was definitely hiding something, they all are. I'm not one to meddle but I needed to know.
Part of me wishes to know but a greater part was kicking against it. The main reason I was here, was to hide away...
'I would keep still and safe.' I said drifting into a deep sleep.
Unknown person's POV
"Master,Master" Landan ran all the way from the master's study to his bedroom.
Jerking the door opened, he received a death stare from his master who lay on his bed yet again with another whore. "Lost your manners again Landon, would you want me helping you find them" He got up from bed putting on a robe.
"Sorrrrry Master Darwin" Landan shivered in fear. "I got information about the Crescent pack"
Darwin's head lifted up, giving his little whore a peck, sending her out of the room. "Is it true, has he found his mate?"
"From the scene that took place, it seems so"
"Our little Cam has found a mate,at last." a devilish smirk blossomed across his lips sending a scary chill filling the room.
"What should we do master"
"We'll begin the hunt" He moved closer to the table at the extreme end where a girl was all tied up bleeding from her wrists into a golden goblet,he poured from the goblet, mixing his wine with her blood. He brought the drink to his lips sipping it slowly savouring the taste as he let out a sigh.
"Nice"
Third person's point of view Ten years later It's been ten year since the eldest child of Cameron and Davina was stolen. It's also been ten years since the war, and the attacks and massacres on Packs and Covens have been reduced. The remaining Vampire Kings ensured peace by enacting rules in their kingdoms and on their vampires to keep serenity and most importantly to ensure the safety of humans. During this ten years, Alpha Cameron helped other Packs get back on their feet. Those Packs that was affected by Darwin's attacks were rebuilt and Packs whose Alpha and family died were succeeded by their Betas. Alpha Cameron also helped several Packs and Covens with finances, trainings and infrastructures. He ensured none was lacking. The magical world remained nothing but midnight stories and fantasies to the human world. The Crescent Moon's Pack expanded it's borders and gained more territorial lands. Four more mansions were built few distance from each
Cameron's point of view The war was over. We attained victory. Darwin and his armies lifeless bodies were scattered in our territory, and also that of Rowena and her witches, even the pathetic traitor, Alpha Henry was killed during the war. Mitch's words rang in my head, but I couldn't even be ecstatic. I couldn't be happy for our victory even if I wanted to. Atleast not right now. Not when my mate is in that state. Luckily, the Elders and Alpha Dimitri were still around, they were kind enough to take care of things in my absence. It's been exactly an hour since Rhona and the Pack's head doctor asked me out of the room to tend to my mate and there's still no word. The Pack is well aware of their Luna's condition, they've been making prayers to whosoever is up there for my mate and pup recovery. I was still sitting in front of the infirmary door where my mate was being looked after when I picked up a chaotic stir in the air, followed by fast heartbeats. Without thinking twic
Davina's point of view I breathed in calmly. I was near the clearing field where we waited for Rowena. I could hear the swift movements of the enemy armies. They kept drawing closer and closer. I closed my eyes, breathing in the nature's magic coming from the earth, the air and the blood moon hanging up. The fast movements of Darwin's armies drummed my ears as I could feel their stench in my nose. They were almost onto me. I knew it was time. I pulled my hands mid-air, my fingers dancing, swaying to the rhythm of the concentrated magic around me. And in an instant, I snapped my hands watching the armies in sight drop dead on the ground from the snapping of their necks. I smiled, turning to the south of where I stood. I did the same when the enemy armies were in sight. I had positioned at the north direction, when an overpowering wave of magic ran through me. It caused me to loose my balance and stumble on the bloody dirt on th
Rhona's point of view We all stared blankly at the night's darkness, gazing up at the sky. It was a full Moon already, soon it'll become a blood moon due to the Lunar eclipse. A thundering growl echoed. It was Alpha Cameron. It was meant to inform everyone the war is almost at our door. I turned to the witches, nodding at them, everyone knew exactly what to do. Those who weren't fighting in the war had made their way to the underground bunkers and it has been concealed to protect them. I gazed at the sky once more, then a gentle but fierce wind blew to the point it shook me. I gazed around when the Luna met with me. "The wind was blowing from the northeast. This isn't good. Something big is coming our way. A storm that will destroy us all" There was a shivering in my bones. "What is it? You don't mean the war, do you?" She questioned. I wish I could tell her more.
Cameron's point of view My hands rested firmly on the railings of the second floor. We were at the mansion. Even from a mile away, one could feel the vibrations from the Packhouse and around the territory. I curled my lips into a smile, it was nice seeing so many people from different supernatural root in one place, united. I loved the view from up here. Suddenly a sick shiver ran down my spine and Vittorio felt it more. I exhaled, exhausted. It was hard being optimistic, shouldering so many burden while still giving hope. Truthfully,I was worried about the war. It was the last day already, and in few more hours we will battle for our lives and existence. I couldn't help but be worried. This was Rowena we were talking about, she has been preparing for this moment almost her entire life and I'm worried. I feel something terrible was going to happen, even though we were prepared for this war. Suddenly
Cameron's point of view I sipped from the cup of coffee on my table. My bloodshot red eyes kept going through some of the Company's business files Travis emailed over that needed my attention. After I was done I looked into the Pack's business I need to attend to under the Pack's name. Like the Pack's high school which needed a new curriculum, I also needed to visit the new Pack's hospital that has just been constructed. I was done signing the cheques needed for the Pack's finances. I stretched out from my seat, looking deep into the forest. Vittorio have been itching for a run, and temptingly that sounded nice. I rubbed my chin, decisively. It was pitch dark outside but I could still hear the loud noises coming from outside the mansion walls. The clashing of metals, howling of wolves, even the smell of the sweat. It's been four days already, and so far so good we've began training for the war
