A loud threatening knock came at the door.
Slowly we jerked out of bed. Davina and I moved to the door, not saying a thing. Then there was another knock which sounded danger.
'Two heartbeat. One is normal and the other is inconsistent, beating fiercely' I mouthed to Davina.
She nodded, "Who's there?" There was no response, a minute later a almost breathless voice sounded. I recognized it. It was the nosy neighbor.

Davina brows knitted into a worried frown. She too knew whatever was behind that door was trouble.

She couldn't sleep, after spending ineffectual hours during the day trying to figure out the meaning of the weird writings in her mother's journal. All Davina's efforts and invested time went down the drain. She felt angry, furious and unsettled at everything. She honestly had not the slightest clue why she felt that way these days.
