*Chapter five*
Davina's Pov
"Honey...run" I opened my eyes, everything I saw around me scared me. Blood spilled everywhere, people laying in the pool of their blood,I began to panick looking for the one person I love the most. I saw my mom, running outside with a woman chasing her, they seem to be fighting, blood on her body as she kept on howling at me to run. The woman then looked at me,coming to me when my mom flung her back without even touching her. My mum grabbed my hands giving me a box which was soaked in her blood. "Sweetie run, run" she kept on telling me, pushing me to move. I zoned out, inspecting her body carefully noticing blood dripping from her cloth.
"Mom you are hurt" My five year old self cried.
"Look at me" Mom snapped cupping my cheeks in tears. "Go, Go to the place on this note,She'll take you to a place you'll be safe. If you don't leave, she will kill you" At her words the other woman crept from behind blasting my mom with a dark glow from her hands.
I yelled and she took my arms as she begun to suck out all my breath,I was loosing my energy,it was as if she was sucking out my life's force, I turned around to see my mom crawling closer on her elbow trying to get the woman off me.
"Davina, fight you can do it,remember all I taught you , you have to save yourself, you have to live." Mom shouted, pain evident in her voice as the woman stretched her other hand to my mom without touching her, the only thing I heard was the snapping sound of her neck.
The moment froze, the only thing I could feel was sorrow, pain and hatred for this woman I never knew. My eyes glared at her and I could see a flicker of fear in her eyes.
Yes,she should be scared.
"Ahhhhhhh" I yelled, suddenly everywhere was dark. Fear begin to rise on my skin. The light grew brighter as I recognized where I was. I could see myself on the bed, a silverbrace on my neck. My 14 year old self, cowering in shame beginning to beg that monster not to come any closer. I tried hard to remove the brace on my neck but to no avail as he jumped on the bed pulling me closer hitting me the more as I resisted.
I heard my inner thought screaming at me not to let him take advantage of me. But what could I do,I was powerless against him,I had my brace on,which hindered my powers and only him could remove it. Soon he was on top of me as I tried wiggling my way free.
Tears filled my eyes, not so eager to stop falling.
'Stop!' I kept on trying to get him of me as his hands trailed down my skin.
My inner thought roars. 'STOP!' And without knowing I did the unthinkable.
"Hahaha" I got pulled away, finding myself in a forests running, running all covered in blood which was not mine. I could hear the crushing steps of my pursuer. It was all dark I ran, gasping for breath, fear of them getting hold of me. I stumbled on a rock, falling down on bushes as my head found it way to a stone. Soon,my eyes flapped in dizziness as I drifted slowly into slumber being surrounded.
"Ah...Ahh" I flapped my eyes wild open, gasping roughly for breath as I sat straight on my bed. I held tightly the bracelet on my wrists which I always had on switching on the lights to see the wall clock, ticking tirelessly, just 5:30.
I sighed. The nightmares had started again, this time more real than ever, reminding me of the past I buried, my past.
Not wanting to dwell any longer on the ghosts of the past. I got up realizing my cloth was all drenched from my sweat. I decided to have a shower before my morning walk hoping it will help me clear my head and not think about her,my mother.

Cam's POV
I just finished my last paperwork. Spending all day locked up in my office tending to work.
'I need a break and a hot long shower.' I thought moving to the window when I saw a figure going into the woods.
Davina.
I thought looking at my watch. Where was she going so early in the morning. I wondered, And so into the woods, it's dangerous.
Quickly I rushed downstairs to outside, trailing her secretly. She moved slowly, counting her steps. She looked lost in her thoughts, a worried and fearful expression covered her face which hurt me.
It made my heart bleed, 'What on earth was making her so frightful?' I wanted to go to her, enclose her with my arms whispering through her ears that I'm here for her.
But i couldn't. As much as I wanted to,I just can't.
And that's when I stepped on a twig which gave a loud cry causing her to turn to my direction as I hid.
"Who's there?" She said, threatening, her voice so melodious to my ears.
"Better come out or you'll regret it" she prodded coming forward. I held my gut as I could feel her presence behind the tree I hid. I wanted her to find me. I wanted to at least help to get her mind of her thoughts.
"Mercy" I held my hands up high, signalling surrender. Her shock not escaping me before her demeanor quickly became unreadable.
She was there.
Standing right in front of me like an angel. The rising of the sun made sure to reveal her curves. Her hair seemingly messy, revealing her blue eyes. She's perfect. A goddamn Angel.
I stared more, wanting to know everything about her. Everything.
I can't deny it,as much as I don't want a mate. I couldn't stop myself from being attracted to her. She's my mate after all. I don't want to hurt her by rejection, just sending her away after everything had been settled will do.
The prophecy says she plays a part in breaking the curse. And I wish is true even though I totally doubt it. She's human after all, her scent gives it all away.
Her mouth opened to say something, then retracted. Maybe she was still thinking on what to say. "What the hell are you doing here? Are you following me?"
"Why would I follow you? I came out to relax my head" I lied bluntly. "What are you doing here? Don't you know It's dangerous around" I snapped, keeping my tone on track, one think I've learnt since her arrival was her short temper. The thought about the drama at breakfast weeks ago surprised me and I couldn't help but laugh. I would be lying if I said I wasn't proud at what she did to Jasmine.
Jasmine had it coming.
"Ohh...it is for me and not for you. That's why you are running around in this very same woods" She shot back. Before I could mutter a word she came at me again. "Since you also came for a walk,go your way and I'll go mine"
With that she stomped off in opposite direction leaving me struck in awe.
But I loved it,how she made me feel. I watched her till she was out of sight when I begun back to the house. Then suddenly, I heard a loud shout.
It was her,Davina.
I ran towards where the sound came from and to my surprise I saw five of them attacking her.
Vampire Fledglings.
Third person's point of view Ten years later It's been ten year since the eldest child of Cameron and Davina was stolen. It's also been ten years since the war, and the attacks and massacres on Packs and Covens have been reduced. The remaining Vampire Kings ensured peace by enacting rules in their kingdoms and on their vampires to keep serenity and most importantly to ensure the safety of humans. During this ten years, Alpha Cameron helped other Packs get back on their feet. Those Packs that was affected by Darwin's attacks were rebuilt and Packs whose Alpha and family died were succeeded by their Betas. Alpha Cameron also helped several Packs and Covens with finances, trainings and infrastructures. He ensured none was lacking. The magical world remained nothing but midnight stories and fantasies to the human world. The Crescent Moon's Pack expanded it's borders and gained more territorial lands. Four more mansions were built few distance from each
Cameron's point of view The war was over. We attained victory. Darwin and his armies lifeless bodies were scattered in our territory, and also that of Rowena and her witches, even the pathetic traitor, Alpha Henry was killed during the war. Mitch's words rang in my head, but I couldn't even be ecstatic. I couldn't be happy for our victory even if I wanted to. Atleast not right now. Not when my mate is in that state. Luckily, the Elders and Alpha Dimitri were still around, they were kind enough to take care of things in my absence. It's been exactly an hour since Rhona and the Pack's head doctor asked me out of the room to tend to my mate and there's still no word. The Pack is well aware of their Luna's condition, they've been making prayers to whosoever is up there for my mate and pup recovery. I was still sitting in front of the infirmary door where my mate was being looked after when I picked up a chaotic stir in the air, followed by fast heartbeats. Without thinking twic
Davina's point of view I breathed in calmly. I was near the clearing field where we waited for Rowena. I could hear the swift movements of the enemy armies. They kept drawing closer and closer. I closed my eyes, breathing in the nature's magic coming from the earth, the air and the blood moon hanging up. The fast movements of Darwin's armies drummed my ears as I could feel their stench in my nose. They were almost onto me. I knew it was time. I pulled my hands mid-air, my fingers dancing, swaying to the rhythm of the concentrated magic around me. And in an instant, I snapped my hands watching the armies in sight drop dead on the ground from the snapping of their necks. I smiled, turning to the south of where I stood. I did the same when the enemy armies were in sight. I had positioned at the north direction, when an overpowering wave of magic ran through me. It caused me to loose my balance and stumble on the bloody dirt on th
Rhona's point of view We all stared blankly at the night's darkness, gazing up at the sky. It was a full Moon already, soon it'll become a blood moon due to the Lunar eclipse. A thundering growl echoed. It was Alpha Cameron. It was meant to inform everyone the war is almost at our door. I turned to the witches, nodding at them, everyone knew exactly what to do. Those who weren't fighting in the war had made their way to the underground bunkers and it has been concealed to protect them. I gazed at the sky once more, then a gentle but fierce wind blew to the point it shook me. I gazed around when the Luna met with me. "The wind was blowing from the northeast. This isn't good. Something big is coming our way. A storm that will destroy us all" There was a shivering in my bones. "What is it? You don't mean the war, do you?" She questioned. I wish I could tell her more.
Cameron's point of view My hands rested firmly on the railings of the second floor. We were at the mansion. Even from a mile away, one could feel the vibrations from the Packhouse and around the territory. I curled my lips into a smile, it was nice seeing so many people from different supernatural root in one place, united. I loved the view from up here. Suddenly a sick shiver ran down my spine and Vittorio felt it more. I exhaled, exhausted. It was hard being optimistic, shouldering so many burden while still giving hope. Truthfully,I was worried about the war. It was the last day already, and in few more hours we will battle for our lives and existence. I couldn't help but be worried. This was Rowena we were talking about, she has been preparing for this moment almost her entire life and I'm worried. I feel something terrible was going to happen, even though we were prepared for this war. Suddenly
Cameron's point of view I sipped from the cup of coffee on my table. My bloodshot red eyes kept going through some of the Company's business files Travis emailed over that needed my attention. After I was done I looked into the Pack's business I need to attend to under the Pack's name. Like the Pack's high school which needed a new curriculum, I also needed to visit the new Pack's hospital that has just been constructed. I was done signing the cheques needed for the Pack's finances. I stretched out from my seat, looking deep into the forest. Vittorio have been itching for a run, and temptingly that sounded nice. I rubbed my chin, decisively. It was pitch dark outside but I could still hear the loud noises coming from outside the mansion walls. The clashing of metals, howling of wolves, even the smell of the sweat. It's been four days already, and so far so good we've began training for the war
