*Chapter three*
Cam. Point Of View
I watched her as she exited my office to her room, staring at the palm of my hand I jerked away.
'Damn the mate bond' I cursed at the tingles which Vittorio unsurprisingly enjoyed.
"What now Alpha?" Mitch called out to me. "We find Petrova's child" I filled him and the pack of the information I received from Esther through the mind link,as everyone begun the search for that child.
"I have appointed Gabi to her, debrief her of everything and no one should say more than they should, I don't want her to know yet about us." I pointed out and with that Mitch left the room. My eyes roamed down to resume that was sent to me.
'Parents: Both dead'.
My heart couldn't help but feel sorry towards her.No no not the mate bond this time,it's just I think I can relate to that. I shook my mind off it and did some paper work in the office throughout the night.
-----------------------------------------
"Alpha, breakfast is ready" Gabi alerted me through the mind link as I slipped down my shirt, my hair still dampy from the morning shower. I walked down the stairs as my eyes dropped on her.
"Good morning Alpha" Carter and Gabi greeted with a nod as Mitch came from behind and I slipped into my chair. Still she sat, getting engrossed in her meal. "And Good morning to you" I said a little bit of anger rising in my tone.
"And you too" She said not even sparing a look.
"Did you receive the contract sent to you?" I asked,my eyes still fixed on her.
"Yup" She gulped down her tea, finally looking up at me about to say something when a protruding noise made it way in with the alarming sound of her heels on the floor.
"Cameron!" She yelled loud enough to deafen someone. Jasmine. I sighed, noticing the look everyone threw me at the table. She scurried like a monkey, standing next to my seat, just about to bring her lips down to mine when I moved to my side, letting her lips graze my cheekbone.
Gosh, her lips were so moist which made me gag mentally. I scanned her from her head down to her toes. She was wearing a silky shirt that hung loosely above belly button with a short silver line skirt which glued to her thigh revealing everything it needed to. It was obvious she just arrived from her trip to her grandparents pack.
"I missed you darling" She held me tightly snuggling as I withdrew her hands from my shirt. I can't believe her. Jasmine doesn't seem to know when to stop.
Don't get me wrong, Jasmine and I never. Like never dated. But I can't deny that she's pretty attractive. Okay, very attractive and I may have on some occasions had some intimate moments with her, very intimate. I guess I can see why she had it all confused. "Did you miss me?" She brought my attention to her.
"Jasmine, can't you see we are having breakfast. Get a seat or get lost"
A chuckle escaped Mitch lips which did not go unnoticed by Jasmine. At that she narrowed her eyes to see everyone at the table, her eyes darkened when she noticed an unfamiliar person in our midst, I guess what tipped her off was the fact that it was a female. "And who the hell is this bitch?"
"Jasmine, sit or leave" I commanded, trying my best not to loose control. Who the hell does she think she is calling my mat-. I paused on my words. Calling my guest a BITCH.
"That's my seat " Jasmine barked, giving Davina a tap on her arm.
"I didn't see a name on it." Davina replied effortlessly.
"Get off"
"Make me" Davina picked up her tea again to sip, with everyone watching at this drama.
Jasmine was not one to get humiliated like this. Part of me feels it's my fault for giving her way to much way thinking she could do as a mate or supposed future Luna.
'Of course it's your fault' Vittorio shot back without any mercy. 'Don't you let that worthless skunk hurt our mate'
"I said Get Up" Jasmine yelled, putting a hand on the table while using the other to pick up a cup of tea shoving it to Davina's face. Before I could stand up,Davina instantly used the fork she had been using and poked it down on Jasmine hand that was on the table.
Everywhere went silent, only a painful wail escape from Jasmine who quickly removed the fork, bringing her hands up to Davina when I grabbed it,holding her neck with my other hand.
"How DARE you" She could feel the anger vibrating through my whole body.
"BBBut,she's a human...that thing dare to-" I tightened up hold on her, making it hard for her to breath.
"Cameron. Alpha, please" she whimpered. I could feel my blood boil,my eyes turning dark,I pushed away Carter who tried holding onto me.
"Never in your entire existence try such again" My voice deep and husky sending my message loud and clear to her.
Slowly I let her go watching her disgustingly gasp for air. My eyes quickly became normal as I turned around to see everyone staring at me,I caught a glimpse of her intense sky blue eyes but couldn't quite read her expression and that's when it hit me that I couldn't read her.
How is this possible? What on
earth is she? I left the room, mind linking Carter.
I need to speak with Rhona.
Something is wrong.
Third person's point of view Ten years later It's been ten year since the eldest child of Cameron and Davina was stolen. It's also been ten years since the war, and the attacks and massacres on Packs and Covens have been reduced. The remaining Vampire Kings ensured peace by enacting rules in their kingdoms and on their vampires to keep serenity and most importantly to ensure the safety of humans. During this ten years, Alpha Cameron helped other Packs get back on their feet. Those Packs that was affected by Darwin's attacks were rebuilt and Packs whose Alpha and family died were succeeded by their Betas. Alpha Cameron also helped several Packs and Covens with finances, trainings and infrastructures. He ensured none was lacking. The magical world remained nothing but midnight stories and fantasies to the human world. The Crescent Moon's Pack expanded it's borders and gained more territorial lands. Four more mansions were built few distance from each
Cameron's point of view The war was over. We attained victory. Darwin and his armies lifeless bodies were scattered in our territory, and also that of Rowena and her witches, even the pathetic traitor, Alpha Henry was killed during the war. Mitch's words rang in my head, but I couldn't even be ecstatic. I couldn't be happy for our victory even if I wanted to. Atleast not right now. Not when my mate is in that state. Luckily, the Elders and Alpha Dimitri were still around, they were kind enough to take care of things in my absence. It's been exactly an hour since Rhona and the Pack's head doctor asked me out of the room to tend to my mate and there's still no word. The Pack is well aware of their Luna's condition, they've been making prayers to whosoever is up there for my mate and pup recovery. I was still sitting in front of the infirmary door where my mate was being looked after when I picked up a chaotic stir in the air, followed by fast heartbeats. Without thinking twic
Davina's point of view I breathed in calmly. I was near the clearing field where we waited for Rowena. I could hear the swift movements of the enemy armies. They kept drawing closer and closer. I closed my eyes, breathing in the nature's magic coming from the earth, the air and the blood moon hanging up. The fast movements of Darwin's armies drummed my ears as I could feel their stench in my nose. They were almost onto me. I knew it was time. I pulled my hands mid-air, my fingers dancing, swaying to the rhythm of the concentrated magic around me. And in an instant, I snapped my hands watching the armies in sight drop dead on the ground from the snapping of their necks. I smiled, turning to the south of where I stood. I did the same when the enemy armies were in sight. I had positioned at the north direction, when an overpowering wave of magic ran through me. It caused me to loose my balance and stumble on the bloody dirt on th
Rhona's point of view We all stared blankly at the night's darkness, gazing up at the sky. It was a full Moon already, soon it'll become a blood moon due to the Lunar eclipse. A thundering growl echoed. It was Alpha Cameron. It was meant to inform everyone the war is almost at our door. I turned to the witches, nodding at them, everyone knew exactly what to do. Those who weren't fighting in the war had made their way to the underground bunkers and it has been concealed to protect them. I gazed at the sky once more, then a gentle but fierce wind blew to the point it shook me. I gazed around when the Luna met with me. "The wind was blowing from the northeast. This isn't good. Something big is coming our way. A storm that will destroy us all" There was a shivering in my bones. "What is it? You don't mean the war, do you?" She questioned. I wish I could tell her more.
Cameron's point of view My hands rested firmly on the railings of the second floor. We were at the mansion. Even from a mile away, one could feel the vibrations from the Packhouse and around the territory. I curled my lips into a smile, it was nice seeing so many people from different supernatural root in one place, united. I loved the view from up here. Suddenly a sick shiver ran down my spine and Vittorio felt it more. I exhaled, exhausted. It was hard being optimistic, shouldering so many burden while still giving hope. Truthfully,I was worried about the war. It was the last day already, and in few more hours we will battle for our lives and existence. I couldn't help but be worried. This was Rowena we were talking about, she has been preparing for this moment almost her entire life and I'm worried. I feel something terrible was going to happen, even though we were prepared for this war. Suddenly
Cameron's point of view I sipped from the cup of coffee on my table. My bloodshot red eyes kept going through some of the Company's business files Travis emailed over that needed my attention. After I was done I looked into the Pack's business I need to attend to under the Pack's name. Like the Pack's high school which needed a new curriculum, I also needed to visit the new Pack's hospital that has just been constructed. I was done signing the cheques needed for the Pack's finances. I stretched out from my seat, looking deep into the forest. Vittorio have been itching for a run, and temptingly that sounded nice. I rubbed my chin, decisively. It was pitch dark outside but I could still hear the loud noises coming from outside the mansion walls. The clashing of metals, howling of wolves, even the smell of the sweat. It's been four days already, and so far so good we've began training for the war
