CHAPTER 6: RUN AWAY

VICTORIA

The scent of roses enveloped my senses, making me fidget on my bed. Mornings weren’t my strong suit, but the aroma brought a strange sense of comfort... except I hadn’t placed any flowers in my room or used any artificial scents. I don’t remember my room ever smelling like hints of human blood, either.

With a sudden jolt, I shot up from the bed, and my mind conveniently reminded me that I had almost died… and that I felt the mate bond with a vampire.

“Shit. This isn’t happening,” I cursed and immediately removed myself from the bed, unable to believe that I had slept so comfortably in a vampire’s bed.

My eyes darted around the room while my hands instinctively reached out my pockets for my phone. It looked like a regular room, except it looked like a hotel room for a high-end hotel.

“Son of a gun, did he take my phone? I don’t even have my car keys!”
