“Wait, what? You’re mates?” Garett exclaimed. I’m impressed by his ability to be nosy even in a dire situation.

I growled at him, “Don’t run that mouth, or I will sew it. I won’t do a great job, but I promise you, it’ll hurt.”

He laughed awkwardly and dashed his way back to the pack house faster than I had ever seen him run. Well, that was effective.

“That was a little harsh, don’t you think?” Lucas commented but was grinning. I could sense his amusement at what he was witnessing.

I glared at him, “And would you rather let that kid out here freely and casually be the bait for those rogues? I’d rather be harsh one time.”

He shrugged and faced the newcomers. Where is everyone when they are needed?!
