“Victoria Wilson, where have you been? I was calling you the whole night.” Lyle didn’t even let me sit and started nagging me.

I got home, thinking that I could ponder on things in peace because no one was contacting me. I forgot that I have a very persistent best friend. When I entered the house, she was sitting on my couch, just like how my mother used to do when Ruis or I snuck out, thinking we were so good at concealing our presence.

“Can I at least have some coffee? I had a rough day,” I requested, but I went straight to the kitchen without notice. I need something to distract me, or I might just lose my mind. It’s still a miracle how she doesn’t notice the vampire scent in me because I can smell myself, and I’m perfectly doused in Zephyr’s scent from sleeping on his bed.

The smell is dangerously attractive, but I would never admit to it.
