I walked into the spacious room holding hands with Mira who was frightened to be alone.

I looked at the man who was sitting behind the desk. He was the same guy I had fought with when we first attacked the Redmoon pack. Was he the Alpha?

He was younger than expected, I was hoping to see someone older, someone who looked like the man who killed my father but he was different.

The man standing in front of me was breathtakingly gorgeous. He had a very angelic face that felt so unreal almost as if he was incapable of doing any harm and his body was finely built.

He caught me staring and I coughed which planted a tiny smile on his face.

“ Alpha Troy Hunter, I suppose,” I said.

“Correct, and you must be Blue Winter, the Alpha of Moonlight pack,” he replied.

I nodded slightly. His eyes noticed Mira and he looked at her in shock then at me.

“ I did not know you had a child.” He said genuinely taken aback.

“I don't. Would that have made any difference,” I asked irritated.

“No,” He seemed relieved by my answer.

“Why am I here?”

“ Straight to the point, I see. I can appreciate that,” he said leaning back on his chair, his stares never leaving us. “ You committed a crime against my pack, you dared to attack us,”

“And I don't regret it,” I snarled.

“ I see, that is why I am going to hold you all as prisoners. But since I'm so kind……..”

“Kind” I hissed “If the definition of kind is you, the world is in for a lot of trouble”

He ignored my statement and continued “I'm willing to release your pack members, as a gesture of my goodwill”

“And what do you want in return?” I asked skeptical.

Troy's shoulders straightened, his gaze unwavering. “I want you to stay. To stay here with us,”

“Why? Of what use am I to you?” I questioned.

“ You will find out soon enough.” He answered firmly.

The idea of staying with a pack I had sworn to hate was a bitter pill to swallow. I looked down at the little girl and I knew what I must do, she was safer at home with her mom than here.

“ If you release my people and keep to your word, I will stay,” I answered.

“ Then, it is a deal,” he cheered

Exiting the room, I found Alex and the others cleaned up and dressed in new clothes.

“Blue, you are back,” Alex greeted, hugging me and placing a soft kiss on my cheek.

“How are you feeling?” I asked, hugging him back. It was a relief to see he was recovering well.

“I'm okay,” he replied, releasing me.

“What happened in there, Alpha Blue?” one of the men inquired.

“Yeah, something feels off,” Alex added. “Alpha Troy released everyone, cleaned us up, and even fed us.”

“ He said he had no intention of holding us captive any longer and I wonder why?” the other man added.

“I’m staying behind,” I said, answering their curiosity.

"He released everyone except you, Why?" Alex asked, his face suddenly burning with anger.

I met Alex's gaze briefly. "I offered myself in exchange for your freedom."

“Then I'm staying with you,” Alex asserted.

“No, you will go with the rest of the pack.”

“No, you are going with the rest of the pack.”

“ You can’t keep treating me like this, I’m going to stay with you, who knows what these people are capable of doing to you,” Alex said.

I gently cupped Alex's face with both hands and looked into his eyes softly. “I need you by my pack's side. You will be my eyes and ears, Alex. You are the only one I can truly rely on.”

“ What if something bad happens to you?” he complained.

“I won't let my guard down, this could be the perfect chance for us. Having me here will help me understand their strengths and weaknesses. So, when we attack again, we will have a better chance of winning”

He wrapped his arms around me in a protective embrace. “I just don't want any harm to come your way,” he murmured.

“ I will be fine,” I assured him.

“ Are you all done with sympathy?” Troy said, irritated as he walked into the room. His demeanor had changed, he was burning with anger. I barely had time to wonder why.

“ They will be leaving soon, I want you to make sure that everyone arrives safely back home and make sure Mira here is united with her mother.” I pointed to the little girl.

“We will take care of that,” Troy replied.

“Alpha Troy,” Alex spoke up, “I have something to discuss with you.”

“Go on.”

Alex stepped forward. “I want to meet with Blue twice a month to make sure she is okay.”

Troy's fists clenched, his anger barely contained.

“I insist,” I added.

Troy's brows furrowed, and after a moment's hesitation, he agreed, “Once a month.”

“And if anything happens to Blue, I won't hesitate to take action,” Alex warned.

Troy's eyes darkened, and in a swift move, he closed the gap between them. His hand wrapped around Alex's throat, pinning him against the wall.

“Don't test me. You, humans seem to forget your place,” Troy's voice was dangerously low.

“That's enough,” I stated firmly, my gaze shifting between them. “Alpha Troy, you promised that you will keep them safe. Remember that.”

Troy's jaw clenched and his grip on his neck eased slowly, Alex’s eyes bore into Troy's, his challenge still clear.

As the tense moment passed, I turned away, my attention directed towards the window. I watched as the carriage carrying my pack members gradually disappeared from view. Suddenly, a young lady approached me with a soft smile.

“ I have been assigned to show you to your room”

“Thank you,” I responded,

“I am Mary,” she introduced herself “ The beta's mate."

I offered a polite smile. “It's nice to meet you, I'm Blue.”

“If you don't mind me asking, Is your natural hair color blue?”

I shrugged “Yes, it is”

A slow smile curved her mouth “Wow, I like your hair.”

“Thank you, Mary.”

“This is your room,” she said as she opened the door.

A large, finely carved wooden bed stood at the center of the room, dressed in luxurious linens that matched the gold and peach walls with a large window framed by heavy curtains allowing the streams of daylight.

Mary concluded, "If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask." With those words, she departed, leaving me in the privacy of my new room.

Chapter 138 – Blue’s POVThe world outside felt eerily calm as we prepared to set out. Emily’s sobs echoed in my mind as I stood by the window, staring into the night. It was the calm before the storm—a silence that weighed heavily on all of us.Troy’s presence beside me was steadying. He placed a hand on my shoulder, his grip firm and reassuring. “We’ll get him back, Blue. We’ll bring Nathan home.”I nodded, steeling myself. “And we’ll finally end this madness.”Emily sat nearby, her face pale and drawn, clutching the last remnants of hope she had. Her brother’s life hung in the balance, and we couldn’t fail.Troy stepped forward, the sword from his uncle’s chest now sheathed at his side. “This might be more than just saving Nathan. If Emily’s right, this man—the one behind all of this—could be tied to the secrets of the cult. He might even be the one who’s been orchestrating the attacks against our pack.”I swallowed hard, the weight of his words sinking in.“You don’t think…?” I he

TROY’S POV.I opened the door letting Blue inside. It was the room where my dad had kept some of his possessions before he died. I have not been inside here for a while and I felt nostalgic.“What are we doing here?” Blue asked, “You never wanted me in this room,” “Yep but I think it’s important now,” I said walking to where there was a pile of boxes, and underneath was an old wooden chest. I removed all the boxes out of my way and brought out a sword from it, carved by the finest blacksmith, and showed it to Blue. “What’s that got to do with anything,” Blue asked, placing both hands on her side.“It belongs to my uncle,” I said. “ Okay, and? Do you intend to use it to fight off the enemies? Because we have to know who they are before we can fight them.” “Look,” I said while showing Blue the fine craft design embedded on the swords. “You see what is written here?” Blue eyes widen in surprise as she reads the words “Deep in the assay,”“Exactly,” I answered proudly and carefully

  • Bound by the moonlight.   CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY SEVEN.

EMILY’S POV. Humming a turn mindlessly, I strolled along the lonely part leading to my house. It was a shortcut that I had not used in a while but today I decided to take that lane because I was exhausted and needed to rest. While walking I noticed an unusual sound and I turned around to see a man standing beside me. He was wearing all black and wore a mask too, so I could only see a part of his face. “Hey, “ I said trying to hide my fear, it was strange to see another person walking in the same lane because it's usually quiet and nobody uses it as much. He did not say anything, so I kept walking fast and trying to be on high alert. The man eventually caught up with him. At this point, the hair on the back of my neck was standing and I did not know if to run or pretend to be brave. So I choose the latter.“Are you sure you did not take anything from that room,” he asked.“What are you talking about?” I asked, walking faster, trying to get away from this creep. “You know exactly

BLUE’S POV. I went upstairs to tend to my crying babies. I entered the room to find Troy was already there, gently rocking one of the babies side by side and whispering soothing words to both of our little ones. I placed my hands on his shoulder, thankful for his help before going to carry the other baby to breastfeed.I settled into the nearby rocking chair, cradling our second baby close, and chuckled softly. “They like having a lot of attention, don’t they?”He nodded, his gaze shifting between our babies. “They do,” he said, and then smiling softly, he continued ” They are just like their mama, always wanting all of my attention,”“What do you mean?” I pouted, “I definitely do not disturb like this kids,”“Whatever you say, darling, whatever you say,” he responded and kissed my forehead. “They took after their father, not me,” I protested. “I was a sweet little girl growing up and never cried over nothing,” I said proudly.“Even that statement sounds like a lie,” he said cockil

BLUE’S POV.“Hi, what brought you here, this early? I hope you are okay,” I said to Emily as soon as I walked into the office where she was. I noticed she seemed uncomfortable and bothered about something.“Good morning, Blue,” she greeted, “I am sorry for disturbing you but there is something that I need you to see,” “What is that ?” I asked, curious.“It does not look like much at first sight but I think it holds the answers we have been looking for and hopefully it will help us trace the people who experimented on Alex,” Emily said, then unzipped her backpack and brought out some drawings with strange drawing and a green book which looked like something I have seen before. “Where did you get that book from?” I asked while pointing at it. “My brother gave it to me, he said Alex had lent it to him before his death,” she paused studying my reaction, and then continued, “At first glance, it looks like it has nothing to do with anything that has been happening lately and just any regu
