Chapter Forty-Three
After breakfast, Tatiana and Luca packed their bags. They were hoping to get on the road before noon. Elspeth made them a wonderful breakfast, but Tia had little appetite. Her mind was already on the long drive ahead. Getting back into training and her usual routine would be a perfect way to keep her mind off all the True Alpha nonsense. Training the rogue village was her priority. She did not want to lose another wolf to Vex. It made her antsy to be this far away.
As Luca loaded the last bag into the car, Tatiana hugged her grandparents. Augustus patted her back reassuringly.
“If you ever need anything, we are always here for you.”
Tia smiled. Elspeth grabbed her hands.
“You may not understand it all now, but be patient.

Tia heard trickling water somewhere in the dark. She felt bone-chillingly cold.
