Episode 4

The thought of losing Almano bugged Sonia so much that she didn't even care if she had made Alberto angry for delivering the flowers at a late hour.

A knock came on the door but because she was so engrossed in her thoughts she didn't seem to notice David walk in.

"Earth to Sonia" he said as he snapped his finger at her still she seemed to not have noticed him untill he knocked on her table and she snapped back,

"How long have you been here?” she asked confused by when he got in because she didn't hear a knock.

"Not Long, what's wrong with you?” He asked with concern, it was the first time of seeing her zone out like that.

"Nothing, just thinking" she reluctantly replied.

Sharing her problems was something she never did, all her life she had always kept what she felt to herself.

"You know, you shouldn’t let his anger affect you. He had every right to be angry because you were late but all you needed to do was apologize. He waited a long while to you" He stated.

“I know I am at fault” she answered.

"Well then, to get your mind off it. Will you like to go clubbing?" he added.

"I don't think I need that right now, but maybe next time I will take your offer" she said. Sonia had no time to party, she needed to find out about the man with the familiar plate number, following him was the only way to find out where she was living but she lost such a chance.

David who had been ignored for quite a long time in just one day left unhappily, he had hoped to hang out with friends but that had turned out to be futile.

“Let me leave you to your thoughts, you seem to be very occupied right now”

Late in the evening, Sonia walked out of her office after thinking a lot through, she walked right past the receptionist counter and then halted,

"Maybe Almano had given a little bit of information" she thought.

Under the counter were stack of files, she picked up the visitor's list, scanning through it, her eyes lit up when she saw Mr Almano, "There you are, you devil".

"What are you doing?" Alberto asked.

Sonia raised her head to see Alberto but she decided to compose herself to not seem suspicious to him.

"I was going through the list" she replied.

He tilted his head and looked her "Why are still at the office?"

Because of her he couldn't go home early, he had waited patiently to hear her come out but she didn't untill minutes ago, he followed her, watching her every move but she didn't seem to notice his presence.

"I will be leaving now" she replied as she arranged the files and walked quickly to avoid him.

She got in a cab and zoomed off immediately.

Sonia arrived home in an hour. She made her way to the study room, A name boldly written on her book.

“Almano”

Going through the visitors list which she had hidden in her dress,?she realised that Almano didn't leave an address, she picked up a knife and stabbed the paper on her clue board in frustration.

After many years she was finally getting the clues to her parents death untill she could finally seize the opportunity to kill him.

Opening her wardrobe, she split her clothes two ways and raised up a small board.

Behind the board was another room, she typed in the combination and a door opened.

The room had all kind of costumes and disguises that Lisa had used, this was the first time she had stepped in there after Lisa died.

As a kid, Lisa had taught her Burglary, disguise and theft, she was a wolf in a sheep clothing waiting to be discovered. She knew her mother had a difficult job and she didn't question it. All the knew was that she was an agent.

“I will avenge you mother” she said to herself.

The weekend had passed by so quickly, and the streets of Rome were buzzing with cars and individuals heading for their daily job. The employees of the vin’s mansion were no exception as they were gathered in the meeting room to be addressed by Alberto.

"We will be attending the birthday party of Mr Almano this Evening, be sure to remember that as you are there, you represent the company in whatever you do” He said.

Hearing Almano’s name, Sonia’s eyes lit up and her heart skipped but she immediately calmed her self down.

This birthday invitation wasn't for everyone initially, Alberto had wanted to ask Anabel to be his date but in order to avoid a rejection he asked everyone to come.

Going on with other presentations, Sonia seemed to be lost in her thoughts, Finally an opportunity had presented itself and she didn't even have to do much.

She would finally meet her parent's murderer face to face, that was a day she was so anxious to see. Her mind was so focused on what way she could use to torture him.

Alberto who had been staring at her for some time now noticed how lost she was in the meeting. He was confused by what was going on in her head and why she had different facial expression.

Little did he know that his face had turned grey and it frightened David.

He paused, expecting Alberto to say to something. Alberto in turn realized the silence in the room then looked at David before getting up to leave.

When he got to Sonia’s seat, he paused once again.

“Meet me in my office” he ordered and stormed out.

Sonia strolled into Alberto’s office and he signalled for her to sit down,

"Are you okay?” he asked.

"Yes sir, I'm fine" she replied.

"Is there anything bothering you?”

"No sir".

There was a sudden silence between them, this was the first time Alberto had asked about her.

"May I ask why you are concerned? she couldn't help but ask.

"Well, nothing. just noticed you have been dull today, I'm responsible for all my employees" he stated.

Ofcourse he didn't care if anything happened to his employees, he was a cold hearted man but to Sonia he saw himself doing things he never did.

"it's nothing I can't handle" she smiled softly.

He smiled back at her but buried it immediately then dismissed her.

A few hours before the event began, Sonia needed to know the house of her enemy so she thought of invading it.

She pulled out a paper from her pocket which she had written the address of the event.

Dressed in a black hoodie and trousers, she had on a black mask and a baseball cap and left in the cover of the night.

Sonia stood in front of a big mansion, walking around it twice to pinpoint all the camera's and guards and carefully writing it down. The place was busy with the preparation that it was easy for her to inform infiltrate.

Jumping in through an open window, she crept in, she tiptoed around the house, noticing every nook and crannies until she opened a room and saw someone sleeping, trying to raise the sheets to see the face, she heard footsteps and she jumped out through the window, landing on the grass, she picked to her heels and ran away.

At the same time, Alberto who had been sitting in darkness in his room, heard footsteps but seemed like the person was tiptoeing, he got up to check if it was Almano because the rooms were a restricted area to the guests when he saw him still sound asleep, turning away, he realised that the window was open so he closed it and closed the door.

Sonia ran with so much speed as if her life depended on it, entering her house, only then was she able to breathe properly.

Hours later and the night of the event finally came, a knock came at Sonia’s door almost shaking her in fear of being caught.

Opening it, she couldn't find anyone other than a big box at her door step.

She picked up a card written on it "Wear it”.

In the package was a black dress with a slit.

Sonia walked into the hall in the beautiful black dress as she swayed her hair, she had made a few modifications to her dress leaving her back bare causing the dress to fold into a v line.

The scorpion tattoo on her back was very eye catching, everyone seemed to halt as they noticed her presence.

"Who was this young lady?” a few people chattered to themselves.

Alberto was dressed in a white suit, he had combed his hair backwards giving him a perfect look,as he sat at corner watching the event.

The banquet was filled with guests but his eyes kept wandering.

His body burned up immediately he saw her, standing up he walked towards her but before he could reach her David had already appeared.

"WOW, you look stunning" David smiled.

She shrugged her shoulders to express how grateful she was for his compliment.

David felt a cold stare as he shifted his head to see Alberto standing behind Sonia.

"I will see you later" he hurriedly left escaping his wrath.

"You look good in the dress" Alberto said from behind her causing her to turn giving her the most angelic face, Alberto’s heart melted at this little motion as he tried to control himself.

"I assume you bought the dress, I am sorry I made a few modifications to it" she replied.

"It looks... better this way" he stuttered.

"May I have your attention everybody" the MC spoke as he lifted a wine glass.

He continued "We are gathered here today to celebrate the Birthday of Mr Almano.

I would love to propose a toast, shall we all raise our wine glasses.

Happy Birthday Mr Almano".

Almano lifted his glass in the air as an acknowledgement, the guests clapped for him as he slightly nodded.

A soft song began playing as the guests took their stands on the dance floor, holding each other so intimately.

This situation became akward for Sonia as she kept avoiding his gaze knowing he would ask her to dance with him.

Sonia turned to leave when he held her, he stood in front of her and stretched his hands, "Can I have this dance?”

It took a minute but she reciprocated and they proceeded to the dance floor, with his hands on her waist and her hands on his shoulders, they stared at each other.

They seemed to have outshined the other guests as the spotlight was on them,

"They look like a perfect couple" people whispered among themselves.

Alberto looked at her affectionately, then whispered in her ear

"Wrap your hands around my neck".

She obeyed and the distance between them had closed up, as Alberto could feel her warmth, it was the strangest but best feeling ever, they danced in each other's arms for a while until Sonia leaned on Alberto’s shoulder and whispered

"Mr Alberto, I need to go now".

His countenance dropped as he watched her walk away.
