Chapter 8| Save by the Blue-Eyed Man

Astrid’s POV

After Vincent scolded me and shooed me away from his sight, I ran and stopped by the garden. I sat behind the huge tree so that no one could see me.

A memory of what happened in the dining room rushed inside my head once again.

“Get out! I don’t wanna see your face!”

I couldn’t help but sob.

I know I should not take that seriously. But, it was undeniably heartbreaking since those words did not come from an ordinary person. It was freaking escaping from my mate’s lips.

“Why are you so cold towards me? I thought we were mates?” I whispered in the air as if I was talking to Vincent.

I wiped away my tears when I heard birds chirping. I looked up at the sky and saw they were flying on the bluish-white horizon. Seeing the beautiful scenery made me relax somehow. My breathing slowly became stable again, and I stopped crying.

“Maybe he just has a lot of work to do. Being an Alpha isn’t a joke, right? That’s why he’s always angry and serious,” I reasoned out, trying to defend his
