Chapter Thirty Nine
Beau heard someone sob. He opened his eyes and saw that he was in a hospital. He saw Robyn beside him. Why was she crying?
"Babe? What's wrong?"
Robyn looked up at him fast. "Beau! You're awake."
"Yes. How did I get here?"
"What's the last thing you remember?"
"Kiara stabbed me. Then you kissed me."
"Yeah. She did. You kind of lost a bit more blood than we thought."
"Oh. I passed out?"
"Yeah. But Drew stitched you up and brought you here. They had to give you intravenous fluids to stabilize you."
"That bad?"
"Yeah. But you will be fine. You just need painkillers and antibiotics."
"I'm fine now. Please don't cry anymore my love."
Robyn nodded. "I have to call Col and Drew. They said to call when you wake up. Can you stand?"

Beau watched his brother pace back and forth in his living room. The frown etched on his forehead was making his face look menacing. Colin was a handsome man but anyone who had ever seen his angry enough knew that angel like face became a mirror of death itself. Drew sat on the roof of the hospital building for some fresh air. His last patient for the day had delivered earlier than he had anticipated.
