❤️ A Palace Of Secrets ❤️

"Thank you, Nyxoria," King Vyr said, his voice warm with gratitude. "I know this isn’t something you want to do, but in this case, we have no choice." He added.

Nyxoria sighed but nodded. "I understand, Uncle. Now, can I finish my food? Or is there someone else you want me to beg tomorrow?" she added, her tone dripping with sarcasm.

King Vyr chuckled softly, shaking his head. "No, that’s all," he replied, turning his attention back to his plate.

The dining room fell into a comfortable silence, broken only by the faint clinking of spoons and the occasional scrape of plates.

Nyxoria finished her meal quickly, wiping her lips with a piece of clothes beside her plate before rising from her seat. "Thank you, Uncle. I’m full, and I’ll be heading to my chamber now. Good night."

King Vyr nodded, offering her a kind smile. "Good night, my sweet pie. Rest well."

Without another word, Nyxoria left the dining room, her footsteps echoing softly down the palace hallways as she made her way back to her chambers. Once inside, she sank onto her bed with a groan, her thoughts racing.

Was he serious about this? she wondered, staring at the ceiling. Does he really expect me to go to the Emperor tomorrow and apologize?

The idea left a sour taste in her mouth, but there was something about the Emperor that lingered in her mind. His piercing gaze, the way his presence dominated the room, and the strange familiarity she couldn’t quite place…

Shaking her head, she forced herself to lie back down. "I’ll find out tomorrow," she muttered to herself, pulling the blankets over her. "If Uncle is serious, then I’ll deal with it. Handsome demon or not." She added softly.

With that, she closed her eyes, determined to let sleep claim her once more, even if her thoughts kept drifting to a certain dark, commanding figure.

Back at the dining room, Princess Nasa finished her meal and turned to her father, her face flushed with frustration.

"I don’t like the way you always take her side, Father," she began, her voice sharp with anger. "I told you what she did, and instead of shouting at her or punishing her, you let it slide, again. I’ve always known you don’t like me." She clenched her fists, her voice trembling as she continued. "You wish she was your biological daughter, not me." She accused.

King Vyr set his spoon down with a soft clink and looked at his daughter, his expression calm but tired. He wasn’t surprised by her outburst, this wasn’t the first time she had accused him of favoring Nyxoria.

"Nasaria," he said, using her full name, his tone firm yet gentle. "First, you need to remember something very important. Your cousin, Nyxoria, is the rightful owner of this palace. Everything here, the clothes, the jewelry, even the respect we enjoy, is because she allowed me to take the throne after her parents passed. That doesn’t mean I won’t speak up when she’s wrong, which is why I’ve told her to meet the Emperor tomorrow and apologize for her actions today, isn't that enough? As for the trouble she causes at the Arcane," he continued, his voice softening slightly, "perhaps if you ignored her provocations, she’d stop. Sometimes, rising above it is the best way to handle things."

Nasa’s eyes glistened with unshed tears as she shook her head. "I know talking to you is useless, Father," she said bitterly. "If Mother were alive, she’d have supported me. She wouldn’t let Nyxoria walk all over me. I may not be as strong as her, but I’m not weak, I'm the best fighter in the Arcane and the kingdom."

King Vyr’s jaw tightened, and he stood abruptly, his chair scraping loudly against the floor. He stared at Nasa for a long moment before speaking. "You have me, Nasaria," he said quietly but firmly. "But she has no one else. Have you forgotten that?" King Vyr’s voice was calm but carried a sharp edge. "Always remember this, Nasaria: everything I do, I do for you. Don’t you ever forget that."

Without waiting for her reply, he turned and left the table, his unfinished meal left untouched.

The heavy sound of his retreating footsteps echoed through the dining room, each step a reminder of the unspoken tension between them. Nasa sat alone in the silence, her anger simmering as her father’s words replayed in her mind. For a moment, she stared at his empty seat, her hands trembling slightly as frustration and resentment warred within her.

She gritted her teeth and clenched her fists. If everything you do is for me, then why do I feel so alone? she thought bitterly, her eyes burning with unshed tears.

Chapter 3️⃣2️⃣❤️ A Kingdom Promised ❤️Lynn couldn’t go anywhere that night. Each time she turned or even tried to leave the bed, Liora would open her eyes and ask her where she was going and then proceed to hold her hands and sleep off. It was almost like the universe had made up its mind to trap her there for the night, as if it didn’t want her to leave for the meeting.†††Meanwhile, far from the palace, in the place they had all agreed to meet in secret, Myrrak and the others were already waiting for her. When they had waited long enough and realized Lynn wasn’t coming, the meeting began without her.“As you all know,” Myrrak said, his voice steady but serious, “we are going to make our move on the next full moon which is closer than we think."He looked around at each of their faces. In the center of their round table, a floating ball of magical light hovered quietly, casting a dim glow that touched every corner of the dark space. After he had left Lynn earlier that night, he ha

"What’s wrong, my Sunray?""Don’t ever say those words to me," Liora said quickly, her voice shaking as she stepped back. "I have a mate. Someone I love with all my heart. My heart belongs to him, and only him."She looked around in panic, her eyes darting across the open space as if someone might have seen them and had gone to report to Myrrak. Her pulse was racing."No one can see us," Erezhul said quietly, almost as if he had read her thoughts. "I made us invisible the moment I touched you, so relax."She clenched her jaw, her eyes narrowing. "That doesn’t make this right.""But I love you," he said. His words were desperate and raw. "You’re the one made for me, my only one. You’re mine.""Stop saying that! Stop!" she snapped, her voice breaking. "You’ve already kissed me. Are you going to keep to

Chapter 3️⃣0️⃣❤️ A Favor For A Kiss (2) ❤️Liora swallowed hard and took a step back, but Erezhul followed her slowly, step by step, until her back gently hit the wall. He didn’t touch her, but he stopped right there, just a breath away from her.“A...a kiss?” she stammered, her voice barely above a whisper. “You want me to kiss you?”She tried to keep her face steady, to not let him see how much his closeness was affecting her. It was strange. She, the same Liora that people feared across all the kingdom, the same one the clan leaders avoided eye contact with, was now standing still, frozen under Erezhul’s gaze. Her heart was beating too fast, too loud. And the question that played over and over in her head was simple. Why wasn’t she pushing him away? Why wasn’t she even trying?Even now he was too close, so close that she could feel the warmth of his breath on her skin. And yet, she didn’t push him away.“Yes, my Sunray,” Erezhul said in a quiet voice, as if he was just speaking hi

Myrrak didn’t say a word, just kept looking at her face like he was searching for something in her expression."You know I’m always ready to help you," she said, her voice calm but a little curious. "No matter what it is, you already know I’ve always been on your side. But the real question here is, how do you plan to do this?""Easy," Myrrak said with a small smirk, "by using your sister.""What did you just say?" This time her voice came out louder and sharper. "You want to use Liora? Use her for what exactly?""I saw the way he was looking at her," Myrrak replied, his eyes serious now. "He is in love with her."Lynn let out a short laugh, almost like a scoff. "And how exactly do you know that?""I’m a man, my love," he said, his tone low and sure. "And when a

This time, it was worse than before. He rolled over with a painful grunt, the floor beneath him trembling from the impact.“You're fast,” Erezhul said calmly as he got up and brushed off some invisible dust from his shoulder. “But fast is not the same as smart. That’s what’s wrong with fairies like you. You think just because you have wings and a few flashy tricks, you’re like an angel, special. Well, you’re not. You’re just loud and small and so so pathetic.”Myrrak screamed, his voice filled with

His head turned slowly, and though his face was hidden behind that dark mask, it was clear his attention was all on her.“Erezhul,” he said at last, calm and quiet, like the name didn’t need any further introduction or explanation. His voice was smooth, almost too calm for the tension in the room.“I heard you talking about me,” he continued, his gaze still fixed on Liora. “I’ve been sitting right here the whole time. But since nobody thought I was worth looking at, I figured I’d speak out."“Why are you wearing a mask?” Lynn asked, her eyes narrowing a little.Liora felt a small wave of relief wash over her.
