Broke My Alpha Mate

Isla POV

“Isla..Isla!, Where is that damn girl?”

With fright dripping down my spine, I stepped into our living room, my eyes darting around in search of the voice that had called me not long ago. I swallowed nervously the moment my eyes found who i was looking for and quickly moved to stand before him.

“You called me, father!”

His hand moved faster than i ever saw coming, only realizing the action after my cheek was struck by the palm of his hand and I was sent stumbling a few step backward.

“How dare you make me wait for you to get here!” he barked, anger clung to every word he spat out of his mouth and back at me.

"I’m sorry father but I was just finishing off in the kitchen!" I managed to let out, unshed tears beaming in my sapphire blue eyes as I tried to keep my faze focused on the floor rather than him. 

If I didn’t, he might find it disrespectful and hit me again or even worst, locked up in the dark cell in our basement.

Standing right before me was a man who was supposed to be my father but he turned out to be this heartless beast who enjoyed torturing and abusing me for every little mistake I make or whenever he is just tired of seeing my face which I rarely show to him unless being summoned by him.

Sometimes, i wonder if he was really my father or just a ruthless and self centered man who claims to be what he was not. 

I have bear with this mistreatment for many years now and it seem it’s not about to end anytime soon or maybe it would if i had the courage to run away but where will I go, I have nowhere to go and besides, I can’t imagine leaving my mother behind.

Each time I thought about running away at night, the thought of what he might do to her always made me stay back and besides this was my home even though it hasn’t felt like it in the past eighteen years of my life now.

“Keep your flimsy excuse to yourself and get ready. I have a task for you to carry out”

My eyes narrowed at his words but I knew better than to ask him questions and luckily he continued in his speech without me asking.

“we all know the source of red moon pack prosperity is because of what is in their possession but it won’t be for long because you are going to steal it for me” He said, a cruel smile pulling at the corner of his lips causing my eyes to widen only a fraction at father’s new demand.

I took a step back, “No, no father, I can’t” i said, shaking my head in refusal. Father was asking for the impossible, something even him and his warrior couldn’t achieve with all their strength if they tried.

He can go ahead and  make me eat like a slave while working alongside the pack omegas for all he wants  but definitely not this. I’m not going to become a common thief for him. I simply couldn’t do it. It was suicide and he knew it.

He gasped my chin, my lips trembling as he forced me to look up at him and into his eyes that were dangerously glaring down at me.

"Listen to me girl and listen good. you will go to that pack one way or the other and I don't care how you do it but you will bring me that stone of vitality. Seduce the Alpha if you have to, kill him if you must, but you must never return back here without that precious little stone, you hear me?”  father let out in a growl, dark fury burning behind his steel blue eyes.

With all the courage i didn’t realize I posses until that moment, I  slapped his hand away even though i knew what was to come for that one act of rebellion, but I rather die than step a foot into that pack. It would be the end of me anyways, why not die now and get it over with.

“No I won’t do your bidding father! Not today, I won’t!”

He cracked a smile, his teeth showing, “Yes you will and that’s final or you will never see your mother again!”

“What?” I questioned, unshed tears starting to pool down my cheeks, “No father, you can’t keep me away from my mother”

“Yes I can and I would if you don’t do exactly as I have instructed you”

"Do you really think the vitality gem is capable of restoring peace and order to our pack? Or this is one of your plans to get rid of your only child, father!”

Slap! 

I fell to the ground this time, groaning out in pain when he kicked me, aiming his feet at my stomach over and over again until i was left coughing out blood. 

“I will not have you speak to me in that disrespectful manner. I’m still your Alpha and you will listen and address me as such!”

Tears rolled down my cheek as i lay clutching my aching stomach right where he had kicked me, my vision blurring, and barely focusing on his face glaring down at me.

I couldn’t breath, my lungs felt as though there were burning from the inside as I kept gasping for air. I tried to move but felt a death weight on my chest, darkness hovering around me.

I continued to struggle before i finally passed out cold on the floor.

I didn’t even have time to adjust to the pain causing through my bruised body before a light switch in the room was turned on causing me to clenched my eyes shut.

I wanted to keep them shut much longer but I heard heavy foot steps hovering around the room before I felt their presence beside me, forcing me to open my eyes once more.

I was confronted by the face of a hardened man whom I was sure, i had never seen before.  The strange man jaw was set to a grimace with his lips pulled slightly in a smirk. I noticed a large scar that cut across his left cheek as he berated me with dark cold eyes. 

"W- Who are you and where am i?" I stammered, pulling myself away from his intruding presence. 

The man suddenly grinned. It was scornful and cold and i felt my heart drop to the pit of my stomach. I know that smile, it’s the same one my father wears each time he wanted to hurt me. 

"I'm your worst nightmare, slave."
