Chapter 3: I Will Make You The High Priestess Of Fireflies Pack

“Why are you silent and alone?” Alpha Gabriel questioned Lily from behind, watching as she plucked roses from the garden.

“I have always been alone,” she replied to him as if it wasn’t a new thing, without looking back. He could tell that she was worried by how she hid her eyes.

“You saw him again?” he said to her, and she paused for a second and turned to look at Alpha Gabriel.

“He is crazy! He said he wants me back. Isn’t that ridiculous?” she asked him, and Gabriel was surprised.

He went into thought for a second. “He said that?” She nodded and decided to walk out of the garden, but then he held her back. “And what was your response?”

“You raised me! I’m giving you my life,” she replied without emotion. “When are we going to strike?” she then questioned.

“Sooner!” he replied, and she went closer to him and kissed his lips slightly.

“I can’t wait. I can’t wait to rule over his Pack and watch him cry beneath my feet. I will forever be grateful to you if you see me through this revenge,” she said to him, and he nodded, assuring her.

The moment she tried to leave, he held her back and kissed her deeply. She gave in, and they kissed their way into the room. Suddenly, the romance was getting to a deeper level as they began to pull off their clothes.

Even though Lily knew this was lust and not love, she didn’t mind any longer as long as it would grant her a safe path to successfully achieve her five-year dream of getting back at Alpha Dylan.

Suddenly, there was a commotion outside of the palace, which separated them for the fourth time that month. “Damn!” Gabriel got up and got dressed. “Duty calls!” he told her, and she nodded and got dressed, too, and rushed out.

She rushed to her terrace and saw that some wolves had come for a confrontation. She had no idea who these were and where they came from. The neighboring packs who were jealous knew better than to come to confront the Blood Moon Pack in her existence, so she guessed these ones needed to be taught what they were yet to know.

Without hesitation, she shifted into her wolf and howled angrily on the terrace, her green eyes shining brighter than actual lights as she jumped down to the bare ground from the terrace and started running side by side with Alpha Gabriel, who had already shifted. The other wolves moved a bit behind them until they got to the gate and resumed their attack.

The palace in the Fireflies Pack was heated in its own way, and Lena’s heart as she paced around her room, her peace tampered and her ego bruised. “I can’t believe he’s trying to choose that bitch over me! You won’t believe this, Sassy. I need some advice,” she spat and sat down. Her assigned Beta stared at her, not sure of what she should say. “Will you contribute, or do you just want to stand there and be useless?” Lena questioned her angrily.

Sassy thought for a while. “I think we should get her killed. That way, there will be no Lily anymore,” she suggested, and Lena rolled her eyes.

“It would have been better if you fucking kept shut,” Lena spat.

“But why? I suggest you never give up your Luna-to-be position. Plus, she’s just a she-wolf. She can’t defeat you even in a fight,” Sassy said, and it only made her look more dumb.

“I heard she’s now stronger than five years ago. Plus, she’s got Alpha Gabriel’s back. Trust me, she’s untouchable,” Lena thought and suddenly found a point in what Sassy said. “Even the strongest Alpha can get pulled down but with the right medicine. I think I have got an idea,” Lena spat, and Sassy nodded and went closer, and Lena whispered into her ears.

Three hours later, Lena walked into a hut while Sassy stood at the door, making sure the environment was war-free. “Greetings, future Luna,” a middle-aged slim woman with long grey hair welcomed Lena.

“I don’t think that’s needed right now. There are more important things I would love you to help me handle,” Lena said, rolling her eyes but worriedly.

Witch Lena looked at her and smiled a bit. “What could be worrying you, Luna-to-be? You know the greatest witch of this land is here for you.”

“Alpha Dylan fucking banned y’all. So shut up and listen to me. I’m here to make you an offer. Do everything to get me to the Luna position, and the day I get to sit on the mighty Luna seat with the crown on my head, I will make you the high priestess of Fireflies Pack,” she offered, and Witch Lena’s eyes flew open.

“I’m impressed by this. Consider the position yours,” she promised her, and when Lena saw the confidence, she felt a little better. “By the way, thanks for choosing me, and I think I have a gift for you. Here! Take this!” she said and handed a little bottle of substance to Lena.

“What do I do with this?” Lena asked with a frown.

“Get access to the Alpha’s meal and dip just a drop in it. It will increase his love for you and make him see just you alone,” she instructed her, and Lena’s mouth flew open. She grabbed it instantly and hid it in her dress.

When she got back to the palace, she made her way straight into her bedroom and shut the door before bringing out the substance again and viewing it with keen eyes. If this can make Alpha Dylan want her more, then there will be nothing to worry about anymore, she thought and quickly hid it before worrying about how she could get access to his food.

The war with these strange werewolves was successful, with Lily making sure they left with damages that would be hard to get fixed. “That was wonderful,” Alpha Gabriel praised, but she didn’t respond. Not even a smile. She walked into her room and then her bathroom, soaking her entered body in the bathtub, and had her eyes closed.

She decided to take a stroll later that night as she was feeling too bored to sit in her room. The moment she got to the stream in the pack, she shifted back into her human form and jumped inside, feeling the fresh breath that came with being inside clean and cold water. She then perceived a breath on her neck and quickly turned in shock. “You!” she spat in anger and quickly got out of the pool, grateful that she wasn’t half-naked or without clothes. She glared at Alpha Dylan, hating that he existed. “This isn’t acceptable. How the hell did you get in here?” she questioned.

“I’m here to talk to you. Please, Lily. Hear me out!” This time, his tone was low and pleading, but it only made Lily despise him the more.

“I never want to have a conversation with you,” she replied to him.

“What do I need to do to have a conversation with you? Please, Lily, even if it’s for a minute,” he begged.

She paused her breath for a second and closed her eyes as though she was having a supernatural conversation. “How about you start with a thorough cleanup in your palace?” she asked and then walked away.

Alpha Dylan froze.
