Hazel’s POV

The drive back home was silent. I did not know what to say and neither did Lucas. He drove quietly, not even a hum could be heard. I was not going to start a conversation because I did not know what to say. I stared at my reflection through the rear view mirror. My reflection stared right back at me. I looked tired and worn out. Noah was stressing me and I did not know who to talk to. I could not tell Lucas, well he knew, but I was not going to discuss another man with him, especially if the said man was his competitor.

The silence continued until we arrived at Lucas’s house. He switched off the ignition at the gate. He did not honk at the gateman to open so I was left there wondering what was happening.

“We need to talk.” He said while looking at me. We were still in the car but outside the compound.
