Hazel’s POV

I arrived at the office in time. The previous night had been relaxing. After dinner, we had played games then Lucas had told the children bedtime stories before tucking them in. It had felt like a real family and I wished it were so. I wished Lucas was the one my heart was singing for, we would have made the cutest and best family. But he was not and rejecting him could break his heart. One might say that I was selfish because I was sort of stringing him along but that was not the case. I wanted to love him, I really did but my heart was not into it.

As soon as I stepped inside the office I realized that something was terribly wrong. Almost all my colleagues had arrived. The weird thing was that they were not gossiping in groups as they always did every morning before starting to work. Today each and everyone of them was in their seats working or pretending to.
