It’s been over thirty minutes and Jessa has been doing nothing but staring intently at her phone.
If only she had the gift of teleportation, she would undoubtedly do what is going through her mind without a second thought.
Her wedding was supposed to start an hour ago but her groom has not shown up, which leaves her all alone in her room brooding.
The feeling that something very unpleasant is going to happen also, does not seem to stop taunting her already troubled mind.
She is trying all her possible best to act all cool but only the heavens know the kind of fiery furnace burning so deep in her soul, threatening to spill out like a hot lava overflowing from a volcano.
One thing which also leaves Jessa on edge and more depressed is the fact that her best friend, Halley Mills too has not made her presence known yet.
Our best-friends are supposed to help us the most on our special days right? I mean it is her wedding day and God knows she is as nervous as the day she had to give a very boring speech on her graduation day in high school.
Just as she is about to give up on everything and call off he wedding, she hears a knock on the door.
She sees her to-be husband, Randel’s sister poke her head through the doorway.
’hey sis, mum says brother has called to inform her that he is on his way and would be here in no time. She says you should get prepared to walk down the aisle in a few minutes.’ Thea tells her.
’okay’ Jesse responds back, relieve evident in her voice.
She tries to not imagine the kind of humiliation she would have faced if the wedding had been called off.
Thinking of it, she is completely sure the boyfriend she loves so much would never even think of humiliating and betraying her on their special day.
Her to-be husband’s sister, Thea who is also her best friend just nods and goes away to check on other things that needs her assistance.
Exactly five minutes later, Randel’s dad enters the room to take Jessa to the alter.
Since Jessa has no family except her grandma, it was agreed that Randel’s dad would be the one to walk her the aisle.
Jessa’s POV
Randel’s father had come to fetch me from my room and we are now walking down the aisle as heaven by Tatiana Manaois plays slowly in the background.
I see Randel looking as handsome as always in a white paisley tuxedo and vikeduo flat Italian handmade black shoes, adorning his feet.
In fact, he is looking more handsome with his blonde hair which is usually in a messy state, gelled back nicely.
Even though, he is looking nice physically, one thing I do not fail to notice is his eyes. His brown eyes that always sparkled are now almost dull. They hold no emotions.
I have heard grooms always look at their brides with love and adoration in their eyes but his eyes holds no emotions at all. They are just void.
I think this should ring a certain bell in my dumb head. Right? It looks like a clear example of what we call, serenity before a raging storm but me being me, continues to fill my head with non-existent hopes.
Maybe, he just does not want to seem too soft by showing any form of emotions. But then again, Randel is not the type to hide their true feelings.
He is the straightforward type of guy.
All negativity thoughts quickly fly out of my head when I see Randel’s charming smile but then again, his smile seems forced and full of sadness.
His smile looks like he is trying to say sorry but I quickly shutdown that part of my mind, that is making all that up.
’Maybe, I am just over thinking.’ I say to myself and will myself and my crazy mind to focus on the event at hand rather than the unsettling thoughts.
Unknown POV
The pastor has done all that needs to be done and it is left with only the vows and then, the couple would be bound together for life, joined as a husband and a wife.
As required, Randel is the first to say the vow.
’Do you, Randel Perkins take Jessa Smith to be your wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish till death do you apart?’ The pastor recites and at the end, ask Randel the last question whose answer will forever bind us.
The room falls into total silence, every single person in the room, ready to hear Randel’s answer.
I swear this is the most nervous part of a wedding.
For some reason, it has been almost a minute since the pastor asked the question but Randel for some unknown reason seems reluctant to answer.
All Randel does is to to stare at Jessa’s veiled face. This makes Jessa go into a panicked mode but she again feels a sense of relieve when a smile appears on Randel’s face again.
’I don’t ‘ Randel says and the whole hall falls into a deep silence that even the sound of a pin drop would be heard.
His voice in Jessa’s ears is like the sound of the screams of a troubled and scared child, through a dark narrow tunnel.
could it be just another imagination of Jessa’s illusory mind?

Unknown POV.‘So guys I want to ask something.’ Brian says suddenly.‘Yeah, shoot.’ Edmond responds as he pats him on the shoulder.‘So I was wondering if you guys would go to live in the witch realm? You know, you mentioned that earlier.’ Brian says staring straight at both me and Jessa.‘Good question Brian but I think I know the answer for that. Jessa would never leave here for some realm she has never been to.’ Thea says, smiling at Jessa, who looks away almost immediately.‘Actually, Thea, I will have to return to the witch realm. I have to go and claim my place, I have to submit myself before they find me themselves because if it gets to that, things will be more complicated.’ Jessa says sadly.‘Oh right. It is fine. It is just that we will miss you so much. Bervelyn is going to miss you, you know?’ Thea says as she tries all her best to preventer tears but th
Edmond’s POV'I say we give Halley what she wants. We will give her the pendant.' I say and the other three people in the room shouts and look at me as if I am the dumbest, most stupid and unreasonable person on earth right now.‘Hey mister, am I hearing you very well? Because I think I heard you say I should hand over my birth right to your shitty, asshole of a wife.’ Jessa says, staring at me like she is waiting for me to tell them that what I said is just some big fat joke but I am damn serious.‘No Jessa, you heard me quite right. I think we should give Halley what she wants and end this drama once and for all.’ I tell her, trying all my possible best to put on the most convincing serious face I have.‘Oh yeah? All along, I thought you were on my side and now, here you are, telling me to hand over something you know is very important to my bloodline, some
Azrael(Edmond) POVTime is really running out and my mission is almost over. Jessa’s POVUgh! I groan loudly as I try to step out of bed.I look at my bedside clock and I cannot believe it is already four o’clock in the evening.Yesterday was really hectic and I cannot blame my body for wanting some extra rest. With some determination, I force myself out of the bed and decide to take a quick shower.I step into the bathroom and do all my business and just as I step out of the bathroom, I hear a knock on my door.I ask who it is and the reply I get is not what I would have ever expected.'Hey Jessa, it is me.’ is the short reply I get for my question.I know whom that voice belongs to but I still ask the person's name just to make sure my ear is not failing me.'It is your best friend, Halley' is the unexpected answer I get.I want to correct this woman she is no more my best frie
Randel's POVI can't believe how long it has been. Ugh! The regret I feel in me grows every second of my life.I regret hurting Jessa and most of all, regret trusting Halley so blindly. That woman is no less than a manipulative devil incarnate on earth. It was never my intention to hurt an innocent soul like Jessa.I was so deep and blinded by the love I had for Halley that I did not even hesitate to do as she requested of me.I know I have been convincing myself that what happened was not my fault but I know deep down that I did not agree to the plan only because Halley asked me to.I just could not resist the temptation of the possibility that a great fortune could be mine when Halley told me about the great asset bestowed unto Jessa. However, I guess I should have been more careful when I was dealing with a cal
