“What, why?” Kane’s voice rose from his normal deep rumble..
“Micheal cheated on me,” I scrubbed my eyes, trying to hold back my tears. “His boss wants me to pay for the damages. Kane, he was fucking her.”
“Oh baby girl,” He says and I have to pull over to the side of the road. My tears nearly blinding me, the damn had broken loose, and I didn’t know if it would stop. “I’ll take care of any costs, you don’t need to worry about it.”
“Kane, it hurts.”
“Where are you?” He asked, and I could hear his keys jangling as he picked them up.
“N, n, no don’t.” I said, trying to get my sobs under control as I took a deep breath. “You’re off for the weekend right?”
“Yeah, I was planning to stay home and veg out. Want to join me?” He asked and I smiled at his next words, “I’ll even let you pick out the cheesiest chick-flicks, Hallmark ones. Or we can go slit his tires. Fun stuff, just tell me what you want.”
“Come with me?” I whispered, a get away with my best friend sounded like the perfect thing to take my mind off of what I’d seen. Plus, there was no way I could get a refund on the room and the swanky hotel I’d booked.
“Where are we going?”
“The beach,” I say, worrying my lip. “I, I, I have a ring. Kane, I’m so stupid.”
“Let me pack a bag and I’ll meet you at the airport. You can text me the gate number.”
I nodded, before realizing that he couldn’t see me, “Okay, I’ll text you when I get there.”
Looking at my phone, I let out a sigh. Kane wasn’t here yet, and they’d just announced the flight was boarding.
I texted him the gate number, Micheal had called three times now. When Kane gets here, I’ll turn it off and give it to him so I can’t check it.
A small part of me wants to know why?
I plan to drown that part out with lots of mini bottles of alcohol. That part can’t be trusted, she’s the one who would drunk dial him to find out the reason, if I let her.
Stupid brain, I picked up my carry on and walked towards the boarding gate. Looking around for Kane, I don’t see his tall figure anywhere. I handed over my boarding pass and walked down the temporary hallway towards the plane.
Once on board, I let out another sigh as I moved past a couple happily taking selfies with each other. My heart twisted in my chest at the sight of them. I wanted that, to just be happy being with someone. Looking towards the empty seat where I’d be sitting, where Kane was supposed to be. I worried the inside of my cheek. What if something had happened to him?
I didn’t want to think of something happening to my best friend. He was kind and generous. I longed to find someone like him.
Putting my carryon in the overhead compartment before falling into my seat. Tilting my head towards the small window. The sun painted the sky with soft shades of orange and purple.
My phone chimed and I pulled it out of my purse, swiping the screen open. It was a text from Kane.
Kane: Trixie quit, I’ve got to cover her shift. I want you to have a good time baby girl and an extra drink for me. I’m arranging a surprise for you ;)
My fingers moved over the cracked screen, I typed out a quick message. Pressing the button on the side, I turned it off before tossing it into my bag. I’d call him once I’d landed and checked into the hotel.
Maybe I’d order room service? I wondered what Kane’s surprise would be. I knew he’d come from money. He didn’t like to talk much about his past, but I got the feeling that he only worked at the bar to keep himself busy.
I wasn’t sure what I was supposed to do, alone in that big hotel room with the large bed that I knew would be like sleeping on a cloud. The pictures online made it seem like I’d be able to swim in the tub.
I closed the blind on the window, buckling my seatbelt as the pilot’s voice filled the cabin. The airline attendant walked past me as she pointed towards the exits. The thrill of excitement shot through me as we ascended up into the clouds.
My ears popped and as the plane leveled out, the light flashed that we could unfasten our seatbelts. I undid the metal clasp as the film started playing, some cheesy rom-com I had no interest in.
The attendant moved down the aisle, the cart’s wheel squeaking as she went. My eyes were glued to the wine bottle that she had out. She poured glasses for the happy couple before handing them some pretzels.
“What can I get for you, Ma’am?” She asked as she pulled out a plastic cup.
“Wine, thank you.” I gave her the brightest smile I could manage as she filled it to the brim before handing it to me. “I don’t need the pretzels, it’s been a long day, and I’d rather be tipsy if not full on drunk.”
“Hopefully the flight makes it better.” She smiled at me and I nodded.
“Thank you again.” I lifted my cup, “Cheers.”
Her grin widened and I took a sip. Hopefully, she’d keep them coming. I wanted to drown my sorrows tonight. It was a white wine, not heavy, but I gulped it down like I was dying of thirst.
Leaning back in my seat, I mindlessly watched the movie. The meet-cute was fast approaching as the actress opened up her bakery.
I wanted to yell at her to flip the sign closed, that nothing good would happen for her with falling in love.
Chapter TwentyI undid the bottom tie of her top, then pulled the string behind her neck. She looked over her shoulder at me, her gray eyes wide. Already I could tell that the few bites she’d had were helping her. I pulled the shirt over her head, and she shoved her arms through the holes. “Keep eating, then I’m putting you to bed.”“Only if you plan to join me.” She said, giving me a look that made it hard to think of anything other than pinning her down and fucking her until she couldn’t move anymore. “No where else I want to be.” “Dom,” she said, turning away from me. “When I get home, I know what I’m going to do.”“What’s that?” I asked, wrapping my arms around her so her back was against my chest.“I’m going to move into Kane’s place and go back to work. You know, pick up the pieces.” I brushed her hair behind her shoulders, wrapping my arms around her waist. I wasn’t sure what to say to that. I didn’t like the jealousy that swelled up in the pit of my stomach. On the one han
Chapter NineteenI pulled her closer, tugging her swimsuit bottoms out of my way. I let go of her nipple, watching as she sank onto my dick. Sheathing me inside of her cunt. Her eyes slipped closed and she bit her lower lip. The shadows danced along her skin from the ocean breeze moving through the palm tree above us. She rolled her hips and I moved closer, taking her other nipple between my teeth and giving it a sharp tug before soothing it with my tongue. She rolled her hips in a circular motion and I groaned, releasing her nipple with a pop. Her eyes fluttered open and she worked herself on my dick. “Sarah, fuck me.” I growled and she did. Picking up the speed. The plastic creaking under her hands as she gripped the back of the lounger. I brought my hands up to her breasts, plucking at her hard nipples. Already I could feel the need to come moving up my spine. She drove me close to the edge of losing control faster than anyone I’d been with before.“Please,” she moaned.“Please
Chapter EighteenLeaning my head against his shoulder. “I wanted him to feel in control, so I put our apartment in his name. I pay for it, I loved him so much that I didn’t care.”“Sarah, you deserve to be loved. To have someone that will cherish you.”“I just wanted to make him happy.” I said, scrubbing at my eyes.“I know that you’ll find someone out there who wants you to be happy. Who will love you as you deserve to be loved. If I were with you, you’d never feel the way that he made you feel.” He chuckled, “I may collar you, so the rest of the world knows who you belong to. But you would be cherished. Free to flourish.”My heart beat faster at his words, that someone like him would want me. Want the world to know that I was his. “I don’t know if I could handle a collar.”He kissed my shoulder, “I don’t know, there is nothing sexier than a collar around a woman’s throat letting everyone know that she belongs to someone.” His lips moved lower and I tilted my head to the side. Could
Chapter SeventeenI leaned up kissing him, “There is a lot about me you don’t know.”His head tilted to the side, his finger twirling a damp strand of my hair as he looked down at me. “Was that my prize?”“You didn’t win.”“Neither did you.”“I don’t know about that, I got to kiss a very sexy guy.” “I think I’m the real winner.” Dom said, leaning closer to me. “Why is that?” “Because I get to kiss you.” His lips twitched as he moved down my body.“Dom, what are you-”“Kissing you.” He growled.“We’re in public.” My words were a rush as my heart pounded and I leaned up onto my elbows to look at him.“No one’s around.” He said, his fingers moving along the waistband of my swimsuit bottoms. “Dom.” I panted and he smirked up at me.Dom looked at me, lifting an eyebrow as he waited for me to say something. I didn’t instead; I watched as he leaned closer. His nostrils flaring, there was something so animalistic about him. About the way he seemed to hunt me down. He pressed his lips a
Chapter SixteenShe turned around and my mouth fell open, the bikini top pushed up her full breasts. Her skin bore love bites from last night, and my wolf wanted to howl in delight that we’d marked her in such a way. I wanted to claim her, to see my bite on that sweet spot low on her neck. “Swim with me?” She asked, turning towards the crystal blue water. Tossing my shirt onto the lounger, I all but tripped over my flip flops trying to follow her.***Sarah POV***The sand was warm between my toes as I ran towards the water. I’d never been to the beach before and seeing the ocean up this close was something I had always wanted. I stopped at the edge of the water, letting the waves splash up over my toes. It wasn't as cold as I'd thought it would be. “Sarah?” Dom asked, and I looked over my shoulder at him. “Never have I ever been to the beach.” I giggled and he grabbed my hand.“So this is another first that I’m getting to share with you?” Dom stepped closer to me, his hand coming
Chapter Fifteen“Romance, the hallmark-er the better.” I blurted out, feeling my ears heat up. Her face lit up and I could see that my answer made her happy. “I write romance, I live for that happily ever after.”“That’s how the best stories end. How about after this we go for a walk on the beach, maybe go check out some touristy things?”“I’d like that.”Breakfast was had with some light conversation and I found the more that I talked to her, the more that I was starting to like Sarah. Once we were done eating, Sarah and I changed into swimsuits. She pulled the sundress back on before tying her hair up into a messy bun. Topping it off with a large pair of dark sunglasses. She pulled out a striped beach bag, “Did you need me to carry anything for you?”I grabbed some sunscreen from my bag, handing it to her. Our fingers brushed as she took the blue tube from my hand. I felt sparks move along my skin. She sucked in a breath and I looked up at her, my lips twitching into a smile.
