Paige's POV

"Do you want me to come over there?" Crystina asked from the other end of the line. I shook my head as if she could see me.

After several days of mopping and locking myself in my room, I found the courage to call my parents and I asked them to tell me the truth and not leave any stone unturned. Even though they were both adamant at first, my mother cracked first. She told me she had begged my father not to do it but he didn't listen. My father didn't talk to me even after I was done talking to my mom and I didn't care.

They lied to me all my life, they made me hate a different person, they almost made me leave Gabriel and made an innocent person apologize for the sins his father didn't commit.

I asked them not to contact me anymore. I told my mother she should be rest assured that I'll be fine because it's obvious I'll be safer with the Lucien's brothers than with my own family.

"You don't have to. Moreover, we'll be leaving for the palace in a day,"
