CRYSTINA’S POV Paige nudged me by my shoulder and winked. I squeezed my eyes, taking in her suspicious acts. Anytime Paige tries to act cute like that, be wary because she’s about to ask an unthinkable question or favor. “What?” I raised an eyebrow. She smiled sheepishly and that was when I confirmed she really wanted to ask me about something that she might not get the answer and my guts is telling me it would be about… “What’s going on between you and Alpha Luka?” She asked. I groaned her words confirming my suspicion. “Nothing,” I shrugged.“Really, you’re going to lie to your best friend. I know something is going on between the two of you but you don’t have to lie about it. This is a safe space,” She touched her lips. She meant not even any other person would hear about it. I trust Paige to that extent, I knew she wouldn’t tell anyone until she gets really angry. Once she’s angry, she can say anything to anyone. I shrugged again. “It’s nothing you should worry about. I’ll t
LUKA’S POV “Somebody call a fucking ambulance,” I yelled again, not caring about whatever response I received the other time. Crystina was bleeding so badly and she was whimpering in pain. Anytime I hear her whimper, my heart races, and I was moved to my knees. Fear gripped me by my core, not letting me go as I watched my mate bleeding to death in my arm. I knew there was no way I could take her to the hospital all by myself without losing her. I needed help and for the first time, I was clueless. “Luk.. It hurts!” She cried as she held on to my hand. I removed my palm from the injured spot and I saw her blood mixed with silver. SHIT! I gritted my teeth as I glared at the body parts of the man I’d just ripped apart. He had stabbed her with silver. Wolves were allergic to silver, it was poisonous to our blood and some wolves were never trained to withstand it. Some wolves like the warriors, the Alpha, and Beta go through excruciating training by the time we’re ten to learn how to wi
CRYSTINA’S POV After I woke up at the hospital, Alpha Luka was there again. Even though I actually didn’t expect him to be there but I wasn’t surprised as well that he was. “Do you feel better?” He asked once he laid his eyes on mine. If I say yes, I wondered if he would find out that I was lying between my teeth. “Not really,” I whispered. My voice was very low because I was feeling weak. I was in excruciating pain from the stab wound on my shoulder. It was silver and there was no way I would recover within a few hours. “It hurts?” With a pained expression on his face, he touched me lightly as if he would break me. I nodded. “A little,” He held my face in his hands and kissed my cheek lightly. His eyebrow was so crooked that the line in between was not visible. Luka held my hand and stared at me. “It would get better. It’s the effect of the silver. The doctor doesn’t want to pump you with too many painkillers, she wants your body to ease out the pain. You’ll get better, alrigh
CRYSTINA’S POV On Saturday morning, I asked Paige to accompany me to the shopping mall to get a new dress. I didn’t have a dime on me and the only thing I relied on was the credit card that Luka gave to me. True to his words, Luka went on a trip on Friday morning and that gave me the chance to attend the party and see Nico again. “Ooh, you look really good, Babe,” Paige gushed once we met outside of the shopping mall around 5 in the evening. I’d lied to Miss Mary that I was sleeping over at Paige’s place and she only allowed me because I also lied that I got Luka’s approval. “What? I don’t look different,” She grabbed my hand. “You look really different, like in a good way. You’re glowing and that dress is nice,” She pointed at my outfit. To be sincere, I don’t know where the new dresses came from, all I know is that I found them in my closet after I left the hospital. I didn’t find any of my old dresses so I didn’t have a choice but to wear the new outfits. “Thank you,” I blush
LUKA’S POV I was in a meeting when I received a message. At the beep of my phone, I wanted to ignore it because I thought it was something I could attend to later but when I realized it was an image, my curiosity got the best of me and I opened it to reveal the worst nightmare. My fingers trembled as I quickly picked up the phone to prevent the person sitting next to me from seeing it. The more I looked at the picture, the more I lost my sanity. My vision was becoming blurry with anger and I found myself going crazy as I was so close to losing control. I stood up immediately and rushed out of the meeting. The meeting was with another pack’s Alpha who was proposing joining alliances with my pack. His idea was bizarre to me and I regretted traveling all the way to his pack just to hear him rant about how useless he would be in a few days if we join alliances “Alpha Luka, what’s wrong?” My Delta who had accompanied me to the meeting asked as he trailed behind me. I shook my head, los
CRYSTINA’S POV When Luka said the mating ceremony was in three days, I had thought he was joking and would probably change his mind but for the next days that followed, I realized how real it was. Right on the morning of the third day, reality dawned on me. As I stood in front of the mirror in my white and nude long gown that was flowing down my feet and braided hair, I was sure that I was about to become the Luna of the Moon Valley Pack. “Are you ready?” Mary asked me as she walked into my room with a wide grin on her face. She was even happier than I was. I was the bride, I was supposed to be the happiest but deep inside of me, I couldn’t find that happiness that I truly wanted. So many questions are running through my head and I can’t help but wonder if this is what I actually want. I don’t hate the idea but neither am I a fan of it. I breathed loudly. “Yes,” I replied. “Good. You look so beautiful in that dress, dear,” Forcing a smile, I replied. “Thank you for picking such
CRYSTINA’S POV Even though I knew what would happen if I returned to the house with Luka, I still did. I would prefer anything other than staying in that hall with 97 percent of people that I didn’t know anything about. As we walked out of the hall hand in hand, I could feel some hard glares being directed at me but I didn’t look back because I couldn’t bother with bitter people. I have more things to worry about than that. “My room or yours?” He asked as soon as we walked in. Miss Mary and Rolf were already back in the apartment by the time we returned. I was nervous and scared but at the same time, I didn’t want my fear to be known. “Yours,” I replied. He held my hand again and we walked into his room together. I sat on his bed as I stared at my fidgeting hands. I clamped them together, trying to calm myself down. It’s not a big deal, all mates do this thing. They mate and mark each other, it's normal. I looked up when Luka scoffed. He was standing at the far edge of the room,
LUKA’S POV I walked into the bathroom with another bout of heartache and this time again, the cause of it was the beautiful woman lying on my bed right now. The first time I felt like this was when it dawned on me that she cared about others more than me. Last night was magical, the entire day had been but the intimate moment I’d been able to spend with her had been more magical. It was the best moment of my life. There are no words to describe it. Last night, I’d imagined waking up with a happy mate beside me. I’d imagined kissing her, making love to her over again, and letting the world know she was mine, not fake smiles and anger. I woke up before her but I didn’t stand up because I couldn’t bare waking her up. What I didn’t expect was for her to wake up and try to block the mate bond we share. I could feel her disappointment and her desire to block it. When she thought she shared her words with her wolf, she had actually pushed that anger to me. My heart ached every time I rem
