Chapter 27

It was a Saturday, and Caitlyn was at home. Bored and too lazy to cook, she lay curled up on her bed and shut her eyes.

It was one of those days she wished she was at work. As she lay on her bed, she buried herself in deep thoughts; mostly that of her mother.

She missed her mother greatly as the woman was the only family she had left. "Make some friends, Caitlyn. You need them," Her mother's words echoed in her head.

She wished she had listened and befriended people. She was alone without a friend, family, or lover. Her neighbors weren't friendly so they never spoke except it was an important matter.

She heaved a sigh and turned to the other side, her body still curled. "Was I cursed?" She wondered seriously.

A lady of her age isn't meant to be as lonely as she was. Her 24th birthday was coming up. She knew that only lawyer Bernard would remember to wish her since her mother who used to be the first already died.
