Jesus fucking Christ Skyla.! What's this.?” Jason's befriend, Paul shouted on seeing my swollen face. I smiled bitterly, my heart calming down.

“Come in first Paul before you begin interrogating me” i joked and he followed me in still stunned. “Now tell me who did this to you before I loose my mind”

“Who else.? If not my darling husband and your friend..?” I asked ridiculously. “Jason did this to you.?” He asked in bewilderment but i didn't answer. “First, i need to go get you some meds. Just look what this pretty face had become” he said hurrying out before i could protest.

Handing me the medications, i saw a hint of pity in his deep, brown eyes. “I'm sorry Skyla. You don't deserve this, I'll talk to him” he consoled me, softly patting my back.

I nodded. “Where's he.?” He asked. “At the company” i simply replied. “Go take a good rest Skyla. You have black rings under your eyes” he said softly rubbing my eyes with his thumb.

My heart flustered unnaturally and a blush slowly appeared on my cheek. “Thanks paul” i said hurrying away, wondering why i felt the way I'm feeling.

I stopped to steal a glance at him again from the railings upstairs and saw him talking to Maria as she blushed. “You're stupid Skyla. What wrrey you thinking before.?” I scolded myself.

The loud music was deafening, laughter and chatter filled the air. The strong smell of alcohol and cigarettes filled the place and people danced under the blue lights.

Jason lit a cigarette and puffed a cloud of smoke upwards. Paul poured drink into the cup and gulped it in one go. “Why are you being so unfair to Skyla.?” He suddenly asked.

Jason looked at him in surprise “how'd you know.?”

He shook his head. “So you really want to kill her.? Come on man.! Why'll you even hit a woman.?” Paul asked clearly displeased.

“I remember getting married to Skyla not you.” He replied nonchalantly puffing more smoke. “But you've almost blinded her, aren't you scared of scarring her for life.?”

“She's my wife and she isn't complaining about it.” He said his eyes pinned to another direction. “You're so unbelievable.! Skyla isn't a punching bag for Christ sake. You need to apologize to her” Paul pressed further.

“Okay”

He simply replied, standing up and crushing his cigarette butt on the floor. “Where are you going.?” Paul asked but he didn't reply and just walked away like he was being controlled.

He walked over to a pretty girl playing cards with some guys. “Hello beauty. I saw you from afar and was instantly captivated by your magnificent figure” he said grinning and rubbing his hands together.

“Thank you” she simply replied not paying attention to him. “I was wondering if you could give me your contact information… so you know… we can have fun sometime” he pressed further his eyes not leaving her butt.

“I've a boyfriend” she snapped again not still looking. “It doesn't matter beauty. I like you and i can give you everything you want” he said and without thinking, grabbed her ass.

A sound slap landed on his cheek immediately. “Are you stupid or out of hearing.? You better get out of my sight before i call my boyfriend” she yelled in anger.

This made him furious and he forcefully grabbed her waist, pulling her towards himself. “Babe.! Babe.!!” She shouted alarmed to the guy across the table who was engrossed in playing cards and haven't been aware of what had been happening.

On seeing Jason holding his girlfriend and forcing himself on her, he immediately landed him a devastating punch that sent him to the ground. “How dare you.? You miscreant..! Cold blooded nincompoop.” The guy roared grabbing his shirt and shaking him violently.

“Eddie.! Eddie.!! Eddie.!!!

The people around the table began to cheer and the attention of the other patriots were also attracted. Paul was the only one still ignorant of what was happening as he was glued to his phone with air pod in his ears.

“Isn't this Eddie Murphy, the number one crime boss of the city.?

“Who's the young man that annoyed him.? He's certainly not walking out of here with his life today”

“I heard that yesterday, someone offended him at a party and he had the person's left hand chopped off”

People began to whisper among themselves, shaking their heads in pity.

“Since you dared the scorpion, I'll sting without mercy. I'll chop of those filthy hands you used to touch my girlfriend, so they'll learnt to stay in their place” he rumbled on and one of his men brought him an axe.

On seeing this, cold sweat broke out of his forehead. “I'm sorry….! I'm sorry…i didn't mean to touch her. I didn't know she.. she was your girlfriend i wouldn't have dared” he said fearfully struggling to free himself as he was pinned down.

Eddie raised the axe but his hand was suddenly siezed mid air.

“What.? Someone actually dared to stop Eddie.? Looks like this person is tired of his life.”

“They've finally succeeded in pushing Eddie to his limit. I hope we all make it out of here alive”

“I'm not ready to die yet please God”

Everyone began to whisper again. “We can talk this out man. There's no need to raise our weapons” Paul said.

Eddie laughed and so did his minions. “Looks like you're ready to follow him to his grave. Awwwn… I'm going to cry.” He mocked and they roared in laughter again.

Paul just smirked. “We'll apologize and nothing more.” He said firmly. Eddie smiled and sat down, crossing his legs. “This is about to be interesting. I'll be merciful. Both of you should just kneel and kowtow fifty times then lick our shoes till they're shining. Atleast its better than loosing your hands” he said.

“Well we're sorry for what happened and unfortunately, this is all you'll get from us” Paul said and turned to walk away. One of Eddie's men ran towards him and tried to tackle him to the ground from behind but he suddenly turned back sharply and struck him a devastating blow that sent half of his teeth flying.

He smiled “i told you not to escalate this further. Its already a honor that you received an apology from me. I'll advise you to think twice before you act again because next time I won't be so merciful” he said pointing to the groaning guy on the floor calling for his mummy.

The smile on Eddie's face slowly froze and his instincts immediately told him that this person isn't ordinary. “Who are you.?” He asked his voice noticably softer this time.

Paul didn't answer but just made a sign with his fingers. Eddie immediately dropped on his knees with a thud.
