Adrian's POV

She ran yet again.

And this time, I just let her–hindi dahil gusto ko kundi something inside me knew she needed time out of this.

Just like me, parang marami ring bumabagabag sa isipan niya.

Napabuntong-hininga ako.”Damn it!”

Limang taon akong walang maalala and this girl just walks in as if she owns

  • CEO's Forgotten Lover   CHAPTER 20

Adrian’s POVHindi ako nakatulog. The whole night kept replaying in my head like a broken record.Aya’s voice. Her eyes. The way she looked at me when I said I didn’t believe her. There was something there. Not guilt. Not fear. Something else. And that hunted me more than anything.I leaned back on my chair and rubbed my temples. My room was still dark except for the faint light coming from the city outside. It was already past midnight but sleep felt impossible. My phone buzzed on the table. It was Marco. “Tell me you found something.” Kaagad kong sabi, expecting better news from him. “I did,” he said. His tone was different.“Where are you?” I asked. Your office.”“Stay there.”-----------Marco was already sitting on the couch when I entered. He looked like he couldn’t sleep either.“Please tell me you have something better to say,” I s

  • CEO's Forgotten Lover   CHAPTER 19

Aya’s POVThe whole day felt heavy. I hugged my bag closer as I walked down the dimly lit street toward my apartment. Gusto ko na lang magpahinga. Huminga. Ayoko muna mag-isip-isip.Pagliko ko sa street namin, I saw a familiar figure leaning on his car right across my building. Nakatayo siya sa tabi ng kotse niya, one hand in his pocket, the other holding something. My heart skipped. Was it—“...Adrian?” His name slipped in my mouth. His eyes were full of rage. His breathing was fast at tila ba kino-control ang sarili. He walked toward me habang hindi ko namamalayan na napapahakbang ako paatras.“How did you—” I started, my voice unsure, “how do you know where I live?” “Were you there?”Napakurap ako

  • CEO's Forgotten Lover   CHAPTER 18

Adrian’s POVI grabbed my keys and walked out of the office without another word. The drive felt longer than usual. Aya’s face kept flashing in my mind –the way she avoided me, the fear in her eyes, the hesitation and the silence.“Mom?” The moment I stepped inside the house, I called her out. The house was too quiet. I walked further into her office.“Mom.” I called again.Then—“Adrian.”I froze. That voice wasn’t hers. Slowly, I turned. And that’s when I saw Isabelle, standing in the living room.“What are you doing here?” I asked. She smiled. “I was waiting for you.”My eyes narrowed slightly. “For what?”She took a step closer until she was right in front of me. “Because,” she said quietly, “there’s something you need to know.”My chest tightened.“What is it?”She held my gaze. “About Aya.”Something in my chest tightened at the way she said her name.“What about her?” I asked, slower this time.Isabelle didn’t answer immediately. Instead, she studied my face—parang hinahanap ni

  • CEO's Forgotten Lover   CHAPTER 17

Adrian’s POVDays had passed since Aya subtly hinted to me that we truly had a connection in the past. But everytime Aya walked in the office, she would not look at me–never a single glance. My jaw tightened as I watched her from across the room. She went straight to her desk, dropped her bag, and immediately buried herself in work. “Adrian.”I didn’t move nor talk. “Are you even listening, dude?” saad ni Marco, my best friend and our company’s lawyer.“What?”Sinundan ni Marco ang direksyon kung saan ako nakatingin. “Kung nakakatunaw ang titig, tunaw na yan.”“She hasn’t talked to me since that day.” I said, halata ang pagkadismaya sa aking boses.“Baka naman busy lang.” Depensa niya. “Forcing her to join in your campaign clearly added lots of work on her plate.”Whatever he said, I know something is wrong. This wasn’t her distancing herself. It was entirely apart.“She’s avoiding me,” I said.Marco leaned back on the sofa, crossin

  • CEO's Forgotten Lover   CHAPTER 16

Aya’s POVI couldn’t breathe. My fingers tightened around the photograph, crumbling its edges without even realizing it. “No…” I whispered, shaking my head. “No, that’s not possible.”Binalik ko ang aking tingin kay Mrs. Vale. “This is fake.” My voice was shaking despite my effort to sound sure. “You made this up.”Nanatili siyang tahimik at kamlado habang tinitingnan ang reaction ko. “My father–” my voice faltered. “My father has nothing to do with this.”She then took one step closer, looking entertained and yet disappointed. “Are you certain? I wonder if you truly know him.” May halong sarcasm ang boses niya. For a moment, hindi ako nakasagot. Because ever since nawala si mama, hindi ko na makilala si papa. But can he really do that to me?My stomach dropped with that sudden realization. “He will never do that to me!” Disbelief and anger were visible in my voice. She laughed at me. “People like your father,” she said, almost thoughtfully, “will do everything for money.” Para ako

  • CEO's Forgotten Lover   CHAPTER 15

Aya’s POV“Five years ago wasn’t an accident.” Slowly, these words started sinking in. Nakatitig na siya sa akin—same reaction.“I-if it wasn’t an accident…” It can’t be.” May takot sa aking boses.Adrian looked at me. “What are you thinking?”He held my gaze for a minute na parang nagkakaintindihan kami kahit walang nagsasalita.“K-kung hindi accident…maaaring pinagmukhang accident?” The words left my lips slowly. But the moment they did, pareho kaming natahimik. Hindi rin kaagad nakapagsalita si Adrian but the way his jaw tightened and his eyes darkened, I know we’re thinking the exact same thing.“…That’s a serious claim,” he said finally, voice low. “Hindi ko naman sinasabing totoo,” mabilis kong sagot. “I’m just—trying to make sense of it.” “By assuming the worst?”
