Chapter three

Scar's expression remained blank as the maids continued to shower her with praise for their own efforts. She knew that her beauty was merely a canvas for their skillful makeup application.

Alice, the leader of the maids, smiled and enthusiastically snapped various pictures of Scar. She believed that showcasing Scar's beauty on I*******m would attract more followers and potential patrons.

Scar sat there, looking at her reflection in the mirror with a face that screamed, "I'd rather be anywhere else."

If this was her dream wedding, she'd probably be so ecstatic that she could drop dead from the sheer grandeur of the makeup. But alas, this charade was nothing short of repulsive.

As the unbearable squealing continued, Scar felt a surge of frustration rising within her. Just when she was about to lash out, the door swung open, and in walked a man who could make hearts skip a beat.

Scar couldn't help but think, 'Wow,' as she admired his handsome features, from his mesmerizing smile to his perfectly styled brown hair.

Curiosity filled her mind as she wondered, 'Who could this be?'

The girls were practically drooling as he playfully winked at them and asked them to leave. Once they were gone, he turned to Scar, whistling low in his throat and a mischievous grin spreading across his face. "Beautiful Sister-in-law, allow me to introduce myself," he said, and Scar's eyes widened in disbelief.

'Wait, what?! Did I hear that right? What on earth did he just call me?'

"My name is..." he began to say, but before he could finish his heartfelt introduction, Scar interrupted him with a daring question. "Hold on a second! What did you just call me?!"

"Sister-in-law?" he responded, wearing a confused expression, or at least pretending to. Scar gritted her teeth and lashed out, "I'm definitely not your sister-in-law!"

He shook his head at her, denying the claim. "No, no, you're not, but soon to be! Look at you," he gestured towards her caked-up face, "you look all dolled up. I'm sure my brother is going to lose his mind when he sees you!"

Scar rolled her eyes at her supposed stupid handsome brother-in-law.

Shut up! He's not your brother-in-law!

"I’m not your sister in-law!" She repeated.

"Fine! I know you're not my sister-in-law," he replied, acknowledging her statement.

Scar turned her gaze back to the mirror with a snort, and then he couldn't help but admire her beautiful blue eyes.

They made her look incredibly unreal, and very beautiful indeed.

He smiled one last time, then his playful expression fading from his face as he turned serious. "As much as I want to continue admiring and chatting with my sister-in-law," he began, his tone firm, "my brother is waiting at the altar, and we can't possibly leave the groom standing for too long" His eyes held no trace of playfulness anymore.

"Now, up we go," he said grabbing her arm, his grip tightening as he dragged her towards the door. Scar glared at his hands on her, a mixture of anger and defiance in her gaze. But he didn't seem to care.

She wanted to protest, to resist his control, but before she could utter a word, he added a chilling warning, "And stay put, if you love your life, sister-in-law." The gravity of his words hung in the air, a clear indication that he meant business.

Scar's mind raced, searching for a way out of this predicament.

'Shit! I hate being weak!'

The moment he swung the door open, he released his grip on her and whipped out a gun, aiming to intimidate her. "Sister-in-law, check out what I got recently!" he exclaimed cheerfully, a twisted smile on his face.

Scar couldn't help but think, 'What a psycho,' as he discreetly concealed the weapon behind her voluminous dress.

She remained silent, keeping her thoughts to herself, as she reluctantly moved ahead and him, following behind her through the seemingly endless corridor.

There were CCTV cameras in the passage way, but there was no time for waving at CCTV cameras!

This psycho wouldn't hesitate to kill her before any rescue team could arrive. She needed to come up with a plan to outsmart him and ensure her own survival.

And just as they stepped out of the elevator, Scar's eyes widened in relief as she spotted the exit. It felt like a magical, life-saving beacon, offering her a chance to escape from this dangerous situation.

She knew that reaching that exit would be her ticket to freedom.

Feeling the cold touch of the gun against her waist, Scar couldn't help but gulp nervously. In that moment, she silently whispered a prayer, seeking protection and guidance in this perilous situation.

'Oh, heavenly protector, grant me strength and guide me through this darkness. Keep me safe from harm and lead me to freedom. Amen.'

Feeling a surge of courage, Scar suddenly halted and swiftly turned towards the handsome brother in-law behind her.

In a daring move, she rammed herself into him, using her momentum to catch him off guard.

With a quick and precise step, she stomped on his shoe with her heels, causing him to wince in pain.

Then, she seized the opportunity and snatched the gun from his grasp, unaware of the power she now held.

Adrenaline surged through Scar's veins as she sprinted towards the exit. Determined to break free, she encountered a group of men blocking her path.

With trembling hands, she fired a warning shot at the floor, causing them to retreat and creating a clear path to the hotel's gate.

"Goodness, why is the damn gate so far?!" Frustration welled up inside her as she cursed under her breath.

She could hear the man cursing and running after her, but Scar didn't dare to look back. With her dress causing trouble, she channeled her inner high school athlete and kicked off her heels in opposite directions.

As she gathered her gown and sprinted towards the gate, she couldn't help but think, "Who needs heels anyway? They're just trouble!"

With a stroke of luck, a car happened to be coming in, and in a daring move, she leaped out of the hotel and right into the street.
