HAZEL

Yazmyn’s salon always smelled the same, like peppermint and acrylics.

Weirdly, I loved it. It brought a certain calm to my raging nervous system and the woman working on my nails, Lalita, was my favorite staff because she always did a great job on my hair and nails.

I mean, I could stop grinning at my freshly straightened hair in the mirror. But that smile died out the second I saw her walking into the salon in the mirror’s reflection.

Levita.

I groaned inwardly as the meaning of her presence dawned on me. It meant that the wonderful day I’d been having was about to be ruined, and that pissed me off because I’ve had very few good days lately.

The spoiled brat waltzed in like she owned the place, which wasn’t surprising. If privilege had a face, it wore six-inch heels and a designer bag like her.

She saw me almost instantly as she reached the heart of the salon but didn’t acknowledge me—instead she took the empty seat beside me with a sickening smile encroaching over her face

HAZELThe hall buzzed with expensive perfume, polished egos, and forced laughter. They were the kind of crowd that feasted on secrets and loved blood.Despite that, all I saw was Zephyr the moment I walked in.I didn’t expect him to be here, for as long as I’ve known him he always sent his personal assistant to represent his company in minor business events such as these, but not this time. This time he was present and leaning against the bar like he owned the place, dark suit tight around his wonderfully hot frame, and head tilted lazily as his eyes scanned the crowd—only stilling when they landed on me.The smile that curled his lips was faint—almost invisible, but the accompanying look in his eyes burned through the silk of my dress and down my spine.I had to force myself to look away before the scent of my arousal rose questions in a den of wolves. As much as I wanted to, I didn't approach him. This wasn’t personal, I was here for business, and Zephyr would simply distract me wi

  • CLAIMED BY HER TRIPLET ALPHAS   27: You're Jealous

HAZELCecily didn’t notice the shift in my mood. Her fingers just kept fluttering over her phone screen, eyes alight with gossip she hadn’t even said aloud yet.Usually, she was very observant, but maybe she was so distracted because she was talking to her actual beau; her husband’s son who doubles as the father of her child. I wasn’t about to judge her for any of it though, especially not while I was being stung with jealousy because one of the Rossi brothers that I’ve been fucking for weeks was on a date. I couldn’t stop staring at their end of the restaurant where Cyrus sat across from that she-wolf—the slender, princess pretty, and flawless Althea who had power, brilliance and beauty practically oozing from her pores.“Ugh, he’s almost home,” Cecily muttered suddenly, stuffing her phone into her purse, looking like her entire mood had been ruined. That told me exactly who she was referring to, but I asked anyway. “Your husband?”She nodded tightly, like she’d rather be anywhere

HAZELI let it slip.“Yours is worse than mine,” I said, picking at a piece of bread. “But mine is just as horrible because it’s two months to my wedding and I’m still screwing my side pieces.”Cecily dropped her napkin dramatically. “I beg your entire pardon? Girl, what?”I winced, slightly regretting that I’d overshared. “Forget I said anything.”“You said pieces, plural. Who, Hazel? Don’t make me pry it out of you,” she scooted closer, eyes wide with curiosity. “I’m not telling you,” I looked away from her, focusing on the waiter that was walking back with our meal. “You’re evil,” she whined. I laughed, “And you’re nosy, Cece.”The waiter served us and then we bantered back and forth for a bit until she stiffened slightly and leaned in like she had yet another secret to divulge.“Don’t look now, but isn’t that Cyrus Rossi?” she whispered like his presence alone was a scandal in itself. I turned before I could stop myself.Of course it was him.Cyrus. At the far end of the resta

LEVITA The ride home was dead silent, and with my family that was never a good thing. It meant that something deadly was lurking closeby. My mother hadn’t said a word since we left the werewolf games, but she’s been texting on her phone while her stilletto nails clicked against her phone screen like gunshots.I could tell that she was fuming inwardly. Beside me, Wendy was on Instagram Live as usual, whisper-laughing into the camera and flipping her hair and having the time of her life. It was nauseating. As for me, I sat still, with my hands tightly placed in my lap and my jaw clenched so hard that it hurt. I just knew that something damning was brewing and I wasn’t eager to find out what it was. When we pulled into the driveway, I didn’t wait for the driver to open the door. I pushed it myself, marched straight into the house, heels echoing against marble, and trying to make it to my room as quickly as possi—Crack! My head snapped to the side as a slap cut me off.The sting bl

ZEPHYR The Grand Lycan Convergence Games were always the same—filled with blood, fangs, sweat and pride. It was about legacy, and it was a show of strength that came with its own perks because the winners were honored by the royal family and given privileges that sparked envy. The games always kicked off when the full moon was nearby. There were two phases, the first few games happened two days before the full moon and the grand finale was marked on the night of the full moon. A series of tournaments marked the games, ranging from fang locking, strength baiting, speed tests, shifting tricks, to claw combat. For each game, the winner was inducted into the Moonblood royal achievers, a sacred group of werewolves that were a force to reckon with. I was usually very focused on the games every year, but this year was different because she was here. Hazel was here. And she’s all I could focus on. She stood on the far side of the field, next to her famil with sunlight causing her carame
