Eric had apologized to Rebecca for the umpteenth time but she didn’t acknowledge any of it.

Her gaze was fixed on the car window, staring at all the things they drove past. She was in his car driving to God knows where, maybe home. After he slapped her, she couldn’t go against him, she was scared.

She moved her gaze towards Eric and found him driving with so much focus, he had stopped apologizing when she didn’t reply. She sighed and looked away.

If someone had told her things would turn out this way, she wouldn’t have believed. Maybe Whitney was right after all. If she had known, she wouldn’t have returned to him after what happened on the day of the wedding.

She turned to him again and noticed he looked calm now. “Can I please have my phone.” She was careful with her words, she didn’t want to infuriate him.

Earlier, while apologizing, he had told her the man who abducted her gave him her phone. He kept on explaining, even tho she refused to say a single word.

  • CLAIMED BY THE DEVIL   Hot deal

With Axel’s intense gaze on her, she felt pressured and it would be a shame to her if she didn’t reply the question. Slowly, she looked up at him. “Your actions, Axel, they speak a lot. Except you’re only pretending, and if that’s the case, I must say you’re doing a great job. You should consider joining Hollywood.” She didn’t intend to crack a mini joke, it just happened. She expected him to laugh or maybe chuckle, but nothing like that happened. His gaze remained hard and fixed on her, piercing deep as if he was staring into her soul. She shifted uncomfortably, wanting him to look away and when he didn’t, she looked down at the paper she was holding.“Are we still playing?” She had to say something to change the situation and the uncomfortable air.“No.” He replied curtly. His mood had changed and it made her wonder if she said anything wrong that instigated his change of mood.“Okay…” She stood up from the bed. “I should probably get going.” Axel didn’t say a word, in

The silence in the room was deafening, despite the fact that both people in the room had so much to say to each other. The situation made Rebecca uncomfortable. She broke the silence.“Heard you wanted to see me.” Axel didn’t say a word, he only nodded in accord to her words.“So?” She trailed off, urging him to speak up. “I’m here now.” Axel sat next to her on the bed, his gaze fixed on her while she stared down at her hands.“And once again, I’ve made an excuse for you.” She looked at him immediately he said that.“You didn’t trust me, you tried to play the game, and I understand.” He mumbled softly.“No.” She shook her head. “Do not cover up for me. What I did was wrong, and I’m going to leave after recovering…”“That’s…”“I do not resent you for sending me away, Axel.” She cuts him off. “I’d do same if I was in your shoes.”“Have anywhere to go?” Axel asked. She stayed quietly, not knowing what to say. She had no where to go, but she didn’t want to admit it.“If you do n

  • CLAIMED BY THE DEVIL   Face to face with the devil

Before her knees could touch the ground, she stood on her feet and turned. Relief washed over her when she saw Axel walking towards her, with Trent beside him.“Good that you are here, Axel.” Fernando said. Axel walked past Kira and stopped when he got close to Fernando. He spared Rebecca a stare before fixating his gaze at Fernando.“There would be no bloodbath if you do as I say.” He spoke fiercely.“Why would I?” Fernando scoffed, crossing his arms on his each other.“You are in my clan.” Axel replied, staring directly at his eyes. “Take your men and get out the same way you came in.” Rebecca watched silently in fear, hoping things wouldn’t escalate to something serious. Her eyes dimmed when she noticed Axel reaching for the pocket in his jacket when Fernando didn’t make a move. She knew what he was reaching for and she just couldn’t stand there and watch things get worse without saying a word. She rushed to their middle and faked a smile at Fernando.“I’m okay, I swear. You d

  • CLAIMED BY THE DEVIL   Kira

She started hearing footsteps outside the door and instead of locking the door as Kira had instructed, she walked out of the room. She didn’t want to be inside, she wanted to see what was happening. What if they were leaving her behind? Everyone was running towards the other direction and no one spared her a stare. Without thinking twice, she ran after them, going to wherever they were going to. While running, she suddenly got pulled to a corner and when she raised her head up to look at the person, her brows furrowed when she saw Trent.“Where are you going to? You should be safe.” He said, amidst his heavy breaths. “What is going on? I can’t just stay inside without knowing what’s happening!” She replied.“Fernando is here with his men.” He revealed.“What?!” Her eyes widened. His grip on her hand tightened. “You’re surprised? Didn’t you tell him about the whole thing? Isn’t that why he is here?” Trent questioned, trying so hard to control his temper. She shook her he

  • CLAIMED BY THE DEVIL   Danger alarm

“Survive! Survive! Survive!” She continued running, fighting the urge to look back and check if the men were closer to her. She had never ran so fast in her entire life. She was out of breath, but she knew if she stopped running now she would be out of breath forever. As soon as she got to the gate, she banged on it like her life depended on it, cause it really did.“Please… somebody please, open the gate!” She begged in tears, hoping they were men at the other side of the gate, as it was raining. When she turned, she found the men extremely closer to her. She shut her eyes in defeat, waiting for the worse to happen, but fortunately, the gate opened and she fell inside, her elbows and knees scraping the floor. Her vision became blurry, her lids became too heavy to lift and before she knew it, she passed out. While some of the men rushed to her, the others ran after the three men who took to their heels on seeing the amount of men in the compounds.*****Axel’s room* Kira

  • CLAIMED BY THE DEVIL   Survive

Axel stood in front of more than twenty people, all waiting for him to speak up and address them. Beside him stood Kira who had a confused look on her face while he hadn’t said anything since the past five minutes. She cleared her throat, serving as a reminder but he still didn’t say a word. He had his gaze focused on a particular direction in the crowd and no one knew what was on his mind. Kira leaned closer to his shoulder. “Boss. They’re waiting.” She whispered. Axel’s lips parted but no words came out. His eyes moved around the hall and when he spotted Trent seated at the corner of the hall, he let out a deep breath. He glanced at Kira. “Do it.” He instructed.“Oh-okay boss.” She lowered her head to the floor. Axel walked away and when he got to where Trent was seated, he tapped his shoulder. “Come with me.”****** It was windy outside, like it was about to rain. They both stood at a corner, watching what the men at the gate were doing.“You really think letting her
