It was a bright morning in Miami and Rebecca was already up, dressing up her bed as she listened to 28 by dean lewis and Ruth B. It was an emotional song and she found it relatable to her situation, but she wasn’t sobbing, she just vibed to it.

“They say time heals all wound, but yours cut so deep!” She sang that part a bit loud.

She continued singing along till she heard a knock on the door. She walked towards the direction and her mood changed from bad to worse immediately she saw who knocked. It was Eric.

“Hey babe.” He flashed her a smile, but the smile disappeared when he saw the look on her face. It was unusual.

He expected her to be all over him by now but she didn’t budge, she just stood there in front of him, her gaze boring into his.

“Are you okay?” Eric asked, his tone filled with concern.

Rebecca didn’t say anything, she left the door opened and walked into the room to pick her phone from the bed. She stopped the music from playing and then turned back to Eric.

Rebecca slowly opened her eyes and at first her vision was blurry, she couldn’t see clearly. She tried to lift her hand up to clean her eyes, but she couldn’t. It was then she noticed she was tied to a chair, hence she couldn’t move. She shut her eyes and when she opened it this time around, her vision was better than before. Though it wasn’t exactly so clear, but it was better than before. Her gaze moved around and she noticed it was an empty room, there was no property in the room, except the chair she was tied to. Realization suddenly dawned on her, she had been kidnapped. But why would anyone kidnap her? As she thought about it, her mind drifted to Axel, he had all the reasons in the world to kidnap her. After all, he had done it before.“Son of a bitch!” She tried to curse, but then noticed she couldn’t speak. Her mouth was glued with a tape. She could only say the word inwardly. She kept humming, hoping someone would hear her, but no one did.*******It was night ti

Eric had apologized to Rebecca for the umpteenth time but she didn’t acknowledge any of it. Her gaze was fixed on the car window, staring at all the things they drove past. She was in his car driving to God knows where, maybe home. After he slapped her, she couldn’t go against him, she was scared. She moved her gaze towards Eric and found him driving with so much focus, he had stopped apologizing when she didn’t reply. She sighed and looked away. If someone had told her things would turn out this way, she wouldn’t have believed. Maybe Whitney was right after all. If she had known, she wouldn’t have returned to him after what happened on the day of the wedding. She turned to him again and noticed he looked calm now. “Can I please have my phone.” She was careful with her words, she didn’t want to infuriate him. Earlier, while apologizing, he had told her the man who abducted her gave him her phone. He kept on explaining, even tho she refused to say a single word. Eric contr

Rebecca stared at Eric who was fast asleep. Not too long ago, they had dinner together and he slept off, claiming he was tired. He promised to tell her what she needed to hear tomorrow morning, but that didn’t stop her from being curious. Gently, she picked her phone from the bedside table and stood from the bed. She tiptoed to the door and opened it as carefully as she could. She avoided being seen by anyone and rushed downstairs. When she got to the gate, she met the security man there.“Can you please open the gate?” She maintained composure while asking. She didn’t want to make it obvious that she was about to sneak out. The security man moved his eyes from her head to her toe, observing her outfit and it was weird that she wanted to go out despite having a pajamas on. “It’s late, ma’am.” Rebecca’s brows furrowed. “My friend is outside waiting. Open the fucking gate for her to drive in.” She raised her voice a bit, her tone filled with authority, giving him no chance t

What did he mean by that? If Eric wasn’t in love with her, then why on earth did he marry her? She turned to Axel, her face filled with confusion. She would believe other things about her husband, but saying he wasn’t in love with her? That was too extreme. Eric had done a lot to prove his love for her. Even before they started dating, he was helping her in different ways. He supported her in medical school till she graduated. He got an apartment for her, and was there for her emotionally, physically and financially. No, she wouldn’t believe what she just heard. It might be that Axel was trying to paint Eric bad in front of her. She wouldn’t fall for it.“Listen, Axel. I confronted you because I still have little trust in you. Don’t shatter it with this stunt you’re trying to pull.” Her little warning didn’t do anything, instead, it stopped Axel from giving her more information.“Suit yourself.” Axel walked out of the room, leaving her lost in thought. The hug was gentle, a soft offering of comfort. She felt warm as soon as his arms wrapped around her body. She felt all her problems disappeared, and the warmth feeling made her feel she was in a world of her own.The hug was like a safe haven, she felt safe and peaceful. The butterflies in her stomach giggled as she breathed in a familiar cologne coming from him.It was a beautiful feeling, and she didn’t want him to pull away. But all of a sudden, she pulled away from the hug, regret washing over her. If someone was to comfort her, then it shouldn’t be the person who caused half of her pains.“Don’t think we’re cool,” She said, earning a short nod from him. “I know,”She turned her face to the other direction, trying to distract herself from his piercing gaze.“I feel sleepy,” She mumbled. “You shouldn’t sleep yet. There’s something I’d like to show you.” Axel insisted.Slowly, she turned to him with furrowed brows, “What is it?”Though she was staring directly at him, she made su

Rebecca slowly opened her eyes and the first thing it came in contact with was the ceiling which looked so far from her sight, and it made her to wonder how a ceiling could be so high. She was used to waking up with the ceiling not too far from her sight, because her bed was high. She tried to get up and that was when realization suddenly dawned on her. She didn’t sleep on the bed, she slept on the floor. Her eyes squinted, as she tried to recall how she ended up sleeping on the floor. Last night, after Axel left the room, she cried a lot and ended up falling asleep on the floor. If it was the Axel she used to know, he would check on her and carry her to the bed, but none of all that happened. She was sure he didn’t even come back to the room after he left. She waved the thoughts off. She didn’t want to cry again that morning, she badly wanted to go home. Maybe coming here was a bad idea after all. It would have been better if she was patient with Eric and allow him answer

  • CLAIMED BY THE DEVIL   A message from Kira

As the car drove close to the house, Rebecca’s tension increased, she was nervous. Kira didn’t explain what Eric was told to her, so she didn’t know what she should expect. The car finally stopped outside the house and she stepped out of it. The driver didn’t drive away, and she wanted to ask why, but she let it be. It was the least of her problems. She stood outside the gate, and didn’t bother to call the security man, cause she knew he would be watching the CCTV, that was his job. Few minutes later, the gate went opened, and she walked in, her arms wrapped around each other.“Ma’am, are you okay?” The security man asked, but she didn’t reply. She headed straight to the room she shared with Eric and when she opened the door, he rushed to her immediately.“Baby!” He pulled her into a tight hug. She wrapped her hands around him and began sobbing, “I’m sorry,” She apologized, with tears rushing down her cheeks. After some seconds, they both disengaged from the hug.“Were yo

  • CLAIMED BY THE DEVIL   The boy in the photo

In a big popular restaurant in Miami, Rebecca and Ella could be seen seated close to the window, with two glasses of cold mango juice on the table. While Ella had a calm look on, Rebecca looked worried. It had been thirty minutes since they arrived at the restaurant, and it was their second juice order, but Kira was nowhere to be found. She didn’t want to think Kira had something else planned. She switched on her phone screen to check the time and she sighed in frustration when she saw it was now more than thirty minutes since she had been waiting. She stared at Ella and noticed the smile on her face, and it was obviously because of the person chatting with her at that moment. Rebecca chuckled silently and moved her gaze around the restaurant, not searching for anything in particular. The restaurant was filled up with people, and it was mostly couples having lunch, maybe a lunch date. Speaking of a date, she recalled it had been long since Eric took her to one. Before they

Axel moved his hand away from her hair. He had a confused look on his face. Ever since she returned from the mission, he could tell something was off about her, but he just didn’t know what it was. And suddenly asking for time alone proved his suspicions right.“You aren’t okay being here?” Rebecca shook her head. “Not that. I just need some time alone to reflect on myself.” “You don’t have time Rebecca, you need to get your father’s properties as fast as you can, hence you’ll lose it forever.” He warned, his eyes narrowing.“How?” She questioned curiously.“You don’t need to know about that. You just have to…”“That’s the problem, Axel.” She cuts in. “It’s frustrating how you keep leaving me in the dark and still want me to cooperate. If you’re really helping me, then I don’t think you should hide stuff like this from me. At this point, I think you are more concerned about yourself and whatever you are doing now is only going to benefit you and…” she stopped to catch her breat

  • CLAIMED BY THE DEVIL   She’s acting strange

She wanted to have a private talk with Fernando, something Axel and Kira wouldn’t know about. Besides, she wasn’t in the mood to continue with the mission, she would do what she came here for initially. She picked the smashed buds from the floor and went to flush it in the toilet to avoid suspicions. When she was done, she washed her face with water and took a breath. As she returned to the study room, Fernando had his gaze on her.“You promised you weren’t going to cry.” He said, upon noticing the water on her face.“I didn’t.” She replied calmly. “About what you were saying, do you have any idea on who wanted him dead, and why?” Those were the questions bothering her. If it really wasn’t an accident then they had to be a reason for it. Fernando cleared his throat and the two men at the door left the room immediately, leaving only her with him. He shifted closer to the edge of the couch and placed his hands on his laps. “What I’m about to tell you will come as a shock

When she got to where the men were, they pointed guns at her. “Who are you?” They asked in unison.“I am Rebecca Lu…”“Don’t.” She heard Kira’s voice from the bus. “Don’t say your surname.”“I am Rebecca.”One of the men scoffed. “Who cares about your fucking name?”“But you asked who I was and…”“Your identity!” He said firmly. “Is the boss expecting you?” “No, I…” Their grips on their gun tightened. “Then what are you doing here?”“Can you please call him and let him know Rebecca is here? Please.” To her surprise, they didn’t bulge. She watched as the guy touched the bud in his ear and spoke to whoever was at the other end.“Rebecca who?” She kept quiet, waiting for Kira to tell her what to say, since she stopped her earlier from saying her surname.“The daughter of his late friend, Michael.” She repeated what Kira told her. She noticed how the men observed her as she said that, and she couldn’t help but wonder why. The men exchanged looks after one of them whi

Immediately Rebecca heard that, she pushed Kira’s hands off her shoulders and moved back. Her brows furrowed, forming wrinkles and from the look on her face, one could tell she was displeased by what she just heard.“You planned this with Axel, right?” She accused.“No. Axel doesn’t know about this, he doesn’t even care about the pregnancy…”“Then why do you care? Why do you want me to get rid of it?” She fired. Kira hit her forehead in frustration. “Here we go. This is why I never wanted to agree to help you.”“So getting rid of my baby is your definition of help?” She scoffed. “Make it make sense.”“Yes. The child belongs to Eric, and nothing can be hidden under the sun. He’s definitely going to find out one day, and that’s like an advantage to him cause with the child he has high possibilities of taking over your father’s properties.” Kira explained detailedly. Rebecca wasn’t still convinced, not for a bit. “Who is going to tell him? You? Axel? Aside both of you no one else

Rebecca stood there in silence, contemplating on what to do. From Axel’s recent behavior, she began doubting if he really wanted to help her, or he needed her to accomplish his goals, because everything was always about him. But then, she didn’t have anywhere else to go, or who to help her. A thought suddenly crossed her mind. Fernando! He was a very good friend of her dad, and she was sure he would help her if she came clean to him. But then, how would she locate him? She turned, scanning the environment with her eyes, and her gaze landed on Axel who was at the shooting range alone. Taking a deep breath, she approached him just when he was about to shoot.“Hey.” She cooed. He spared her a stare before focusing on what he was doing.“I’m sorry about earlier. I just…” she inhaled deeply. “I just didn’t know what to do. Fernando was so nice to me and dad and hearing about him after a long time might have sparked my reaction.” He didn’t reply her. She was taken aback by his request. Steal? She had never stolen anything and Axel knew that. But what could the thing be and why didn’t Axel send someone else? Many thoughts filled her mind as she waited for him to explain further. She wrapped her hands around her breasts, not because she was shy, but because she suddenly felt cold. She clenched her thighs tightly, trying so hard to surpress the urge to grab Axel and make him do the dirtiest stuff she had in mind. Axel didn’t speak, there was a deafening silence between them and she knew he wouldn’t say anything if she refused to speak first.“Steal what?” He moved closer to her. “I’ll tell you full details later, but for now….” He grabbed her neck roughly and a light gasped escaped her lips. “Let’s make you cum.” With his hand still on her neck, he pushed her to the wall and her back hit the wall roughly.“Shouldn’t we go to a room.” She asked beneath her breath. She was already feeling the tension.“Why would

When she got outside, she let out a deep breath.“Fuck. That was tough.” She muttered. If it wasn’t for the signals Axel gave her, she wouldn’t had been able to handle the situation. She noticed the two guys outside bowed immediately she stepped out and she’s left with a question. How powerful was Michael Lucas before he died? He seemed to be feared and respected and despite being his daughter, she felt she didn’t know him well. The only side she knew was his jovial side, and his caring side. If only death didn’t take him from her. Her lips pressed as she recalled the day of the accident and she wished she died alongside her parents because life was too harsh on her. After one last glance at the men, she walked away. She was able to locate the swimming pool after wandering about the big compound. She sat by the pool side, took off her sandals and dipped her legs in the pool, feeling the coolness.Goosebumps of cold prickled her skin. It felt refreshing and when sh

Rebecca stepped out of the bathroom, her body dripping wet of water. Instead of wrapping her body with the towel, she wrapped her head with the only towel available. She was surprised to see Kira in the room, seated on the bed with a black dress and sandal beside her. The room was specially assigned to her by Axel to stay for the meantime. It was spacious and simple, just as she liked it. They weren’t irrelevant decors, just the lamp nn the bedside table and a small book shelf which was filled with books, then other necessary stuff. She liked reading and was sure Axel gave her this room on purpose.“You can’t be walking around naked.” Kira shrugged as Rebecca walked towards her.“Didn’t know someone was here.” Rebecca replied as she picked the gown from the bed.“Courtesy?” “Axel wants you to put it on.” Kira informed. She observed the dress for a while before moving her gaze to Kira. “It’s late for goodness sake, why should I put this on?” It was a long black sleeveless go

Quickly, she turned and headed for the door, but her steps halted when he spoke up.“There’s no lady.” She didn’t know whether to continue or stay back. She wiped her tears and slowly turned. “I’m not dumb, Axel. Don’t try to cover up.”“I’m not covering up.” His voice was low. He took slow strode towards her and when he got to her front, he grabbed her wrist, his fingers stroking the butterfly tattoo.“When I first saw this, I was excited because it means you do not hate me as you claim…” He looked up and found her staring at him with confusion displayed in her brown eyes.“You have all the reason to hate me, Becca, you really do. But please…” he took a deep breath, a bit hesitant. “Do not hate me for long.” Rebecca was too confused to speak. She didn’t know what to say or how to react. Indeed she hated him for what he did, but for some days now she had been seeing him differently, even after persuading
