LOGIN🦋 CATALINA 🦋
It was a terrible first day at school, as if the dangerous city wasn't enough, I'm in a devilish academy.
“How many people want to kill me now?” I thought, looking down at my fingers.
Rook had let go for a brief moment when Mr. Matteo showed up for whatever reason, and I took the opportunity to flee.
But, I'm so certain he will separate my neck from my body if we cross paths again, and I, with every strength in me, will avoid crossing paths with him even if I have to act like a mouse hiding from a cat that would tear it to shreds once caught.
I can barely lift my right arm, as I feel like my elbow is broken due to the harsh throw on the wall by Rook. He had no compassion whatsoever in his eyes when he picked me up so easily and shoved me towards the wall, and I landed on the harsh tiles of the restroom. I might probably be in a coma if I had made that hit with my head and not my elbow.
And to think that the school won't even punish him for it is very infuriating.
Now I understand the terrified look on Nabi's and Tamara's faces when he said I was marked.
A rough, tired sigh escapes my lips, and out of nowhere, a soft gasping catches my attention, and I jump, alarmed.
In Lion City, we are trained by force to be alarmed, always ready to face danger.
I look around, but it is too dark to see through, so I dig my fingers into my back pocket, fish out my phone, and switch on the flashlight.
It isn't serving justice to the thick darkness that surrounds me, but I can see things a few feet away from me.
One thing I've learnt in this cruel world is that, screaming, ‘Who's there?’ When you sense danger, it is a very stupid idea and could automatically make you become a threat and expose you to danger, so instead of making a sound, curiosity causes me to make another stupid choice. I slowly trail towards where the gasping sound is coming from.
The truth I uncover makes me go lifeless. I stand there with my legs trembling, as I watch Corvin, the leader of Lucifer's Heirs, tearing into the flesh of a young woman with his fangs.
His arms wrapped around her waist, his fangs buried into her neck, his eyes red and shiny, and his claws dug into her skin as he tore at the side of her hips.
The lady's gasp fills the air, but I'm not sure if it's coming from pain or pleasure.
My fear, shock, and bewilderment multiply when my eyes, in slow motion, trail down, and I see a bunch of more people, thrown on each other, dead and bloodless. It is enough bodies to make up for an average mountain.
They were white and pale as all their blood had been drained from them.
Unable to contain my fear, a scream burst out of my lungs, breathing heavily as I take slow, dragging steps backwards.
Corvin isn't startled; it is like he already knew I was standing there. He just continues sucking up to the young lady who already seems lifeless to me.
“It's mannerless to disrupt a person's meal,” he voices out, still tearing into the young woman as his gaze focuses on me.
Not daring to tear my gaze from the corpse pulled up, I stand there white as a sheet.
Soon, this monster would feed on everyone in Lion City, including me, and there would be no one left.
Done with the lady’s body, Corvin throws her on the other bodies and begins to walk towards me.
Scared and alarmed, I tear my gaze from the dead bodies to gawk at Corvin, whose eyes were still red as though he needed more blood even if he had just finished stealing the life and blood of dozens of people.
“This is the moment when you run,” He mutters, still walking closer to me.
With a shaky body, my eyes fixed on him, I swallowed hard, held my shaky breaths, to force words out of my lips, “What do you want from me? You promised to get the hell out of my life, we aren't supposed to meet again, unless it's by chance.”
“This is a chance I created.”
“Scratch that! I don't want to know you, I don't want to be involved with you! You are…”
“A monster?” He supplies, still taking steps closer.
“Wicked!” I correct. Corvin pauses, and I release my breath, chills slowly creeping into my skin. “I want to erase every memory I have of you. If I could go back to that night, I wouldn't have walked out of my gate and let you in.”
“I was standing in front of your gate because I was planning to come in anyway.”
Shaking my head, “You traumatize me!” I scream, my voice finally breaking, “You scare me… Stay away!”
Corvin keeps quiet and just stares at me.
Stares
And more stares
“What did that bastard whisper to you that night?” He finally blurts out. “I've been trying to get it out of my head, but I can't, so you tell me.”
“He said I owe him a death, and he knows my name.”
“Does he know you are already owned?”
“By what?”
“Me!” Corvin growls and resumes taking steps closer, causing me to hold my breath again and instinctively take steps back. “I own you. I own your existence, I own your life, I own your body.”
I stood there dumbfounded and creeped out.
“Are you seriously fighting over who kills me first?”
“I'm fighting for who's owning and protecting you, that should be me, I'll kill any other fucker.”
“You don't look like you are protecting me.”
“Not from me!”
“You are the one I need protection from!”
In a very brief moment, it happened as fast as you close your eyes. Corvin is in front of me. I gasp, my mind unable to think of a way to escape such a terrifying moment, when he holds onto me with one arm, and with the other, slides into my dress.
I can feel his sharp claws tracing down my skin and threatening to pierce through if I move as much as an inch away from him.
His eyes burn a hole in my skin as he leans closer.
“There's no protection from me.”
The cold air was a razor in my lungs. The sound of my own desperate gasps is louder than the inner voice that comes from my mind, screaming for me to flee.
Then, without warning, he moves.
His hand snaps up, fingers tangling in my hair, yanking me against him with bruising force. I gasp, my back arching as my body collides with the hard planes of his chest. The world tilted, my senses drowning in the overwhelming maleness of him.
The scent of leather and old books, the iron tang of blood, the sheer, crushing dominance of his presence.
Before I can protest, his mouth crashes down on mine.
The kiss was nothing like I had ever known.
His lips were warm, too warm, slick with the remnants of his last meal. The coppery taste of blood floods my senses, rich and thick, coating my tongue as his slid past my parted lips. It was invasive, possessive, his tongue stroking deep, claiming every inch of my mouth like a conqueror staking his territory.
I whimper, my fingers clawing at his shoulders, to push him away, but at the same time, to hold on, because the world is spinning, and if I don’t anchor myself to him, I fear I might drown in the blood the bastard is feeding me with.
Pushing him away, my dark eyes flash up at him, a sudden, sharp anger mixed with surprise.
“Are you disgusted?” he asks, obviously enjoying the terror my eyes displayed.
“You crazy… mad man!”
“Watch your tone!” he threatens.
“Or what? You'll feed on me, too? Screw you!” I fired back, my anger suppressing the fear I feel, “I hope the FBI and SWAT catch you soon for all your atrocities and kill you! I hope you get erased from the face of this earth! I hope you die so badly! I hope you get burnt or stoned to death!”
“Just please get out of my life! Or I'll find a way to kill you myself,” I cry out through gritted teeth.
Silence descends between us once again, and we just stare at each other, he with an expressionless face, me with anger and hatred.
Breaking eye contact, Corvin walks towards me as he pulls out something from his back pocket, something that looks like… a necklace.
Giving me a gift after traumatizing me? Ridiculous.
“Don't touch me!” I growl as he reaches for my neck, but that doesn't stop him.
His fingers brush my neck, stroking the exact spot he bit the first day we met, “I see my bite left a scar. I feel good about that.”
“Of course you do, you're a monster after all.”
Corvin pauses and stares at me for the umpteenth time in the space of a few minutes, before pointing at the necklace.
“Don't take that off! It was my mother's. It reacts when you are around beings like me, then you'll know when you're in danger or who's not human around you. No one is allowed to kill you until I do.”
“And just so you know,” he continues coldly. “The whole of Asmodeus's heirs are werewolves, and Magnus, their leader, is their alpha. And Lucifer’s heirs are Vampires. There are definitely more in your academy; you might want to watch out.” He says and proceeds to leave before pausing and turning around, “Before you look at me with so much hatred, just know that next time I'm feeding you blood, it might not be the lips you have on your face. It is either I feed you blood, or I feed on you… You pick.”
🦋 CATALINA 🦋After my shower, I check the mirror and realize I have no bite mark. Not only that, my elbow and leg no longer hurt; as a matter of fact, the injury wasn’t there at all, not even a scar or a scratch. I was feeling brand new, like Magnus never leg-clawed, traumatized me, and Rook the bully never flung me to the wall and broke my precious elbow.“Honestly, what did Corvin feed to me?” I ask myself curiously. All I remember was him feeding something to me, but that was it; all the memory I have stops there. When I get to the school gate, Tamara, Nabi, and Yumeko stand there waiting for me, and I smile at the gesture, thinking it was really sweet, until I realize why.“Please don’t look up!” Nabi yells from where she is standing. My gaze slowly rises to find a huge banner that basically covers the whole gate. The banner is a picture of me in underwear, my hands behind me trying to take off my bra, photo shopped to be blowing a flying kiss, my lips were popped out with one e
🦋 CATALINA 🦋When I wake up, it feels as if nothing happened at all. I can barely remember last night, nor do I feel any pain.“How did I get home?” I wonder, picking myself up from the couch. Then fragments of yesterday begin to come together.“Corvin…” I murmur. “He bit me… that bastard.”But weirdly, I feel no pain. I still remember how unbearable it was, my screams, cries, and fights. I remember passing out due to loss of blood. I remember him… carrying me home, and feeding me something.I’m lucky I’m alive, but I should definitely not feel this strong. What did he feed me? Whatever it is must be the reason I feel great.Suddenly, my phone beeps and I rush to pick it up, glancing at the pop-up notification. You have a new message from ‘Do not be among us.’ Group chat.Yumeko: I owe you a box of donuts. @catalinaMe: Is this your way of apologizing? For saying I’m pathetic and selfish, for needing friends who would come running when I’m in trouble?Yumeko: Eat, while I’m serving.
🦋 CATALINA 🦋“Strip!” Corvin growls.I stand there, in the middle of the dark, lonely streets, frozen.“Let me go!” My voice is so low, but I know he can hear me loud and clear.“What part of strip do you not understand? Strip, and I might let you go.”“What part of get out of my life do you not understand? Don’t you get it? Not only are you a thief, a killer, the most wanted criminal in this city, you rule Lucifer Heirs, a very devilish squad terrorizing this city, and on top of that, you are a blood sucking vampire… demon, and now all my friends think I’m crazy.”“I am doing you a favor here. I’m letting you keep your life, you know very well you are a meal.”“Then kill me! Bury your fangs into me and let’s get this over with. You fed me blood, I’m human! How can you be so disgustingly evil?”“I don’t plan on killing you yet. I plan on torturing you, playing with my meal. So strip!”“No! If you won’t kill me, or feed on me, then piss off.”“Fine! Die then…”Corvin is in front of m
🦋 CATALINA 🦋“So this school is like what? A cage?”“A cult sounds better, you can’t leave until you can leave, which is after graduation, which is obviously not anytime soon,” Tamara explains. “If you are in this school, there's no way out until you graduate. If you try to run, the school officials will find you and drag you back. This school is also above the law; you have no choice but to blend in.”I stand up straight, resting one hand on my waist as I gawk at three of them, “I wasn't told anything about this!”“We weren't either!” Nabi sighs, finally looking at me. “It’s like you are unlocking a game’s level, you don't know what's in it until you're in it.”“Shit! Both the city and the school sucks so bad.”“Tell me about it!” Yumeko adds, unwrapping a box of donuts.“Is it safe for you to go home?” Tamara murmurs, pointing out the window dramatically like my home was right outside the window. “Headline this morning says 40people, men and women included, were found along the wa
🦋 CATALINA 🦋His hands leave my bound hands and find my waist, fingers digging into the soft flesh there, pulling my flush against him. I gasp into his mouth, the sound swallowed as his tongue slides past my lips, hot and insistent. He tastes like sin, whiskey, and something darker, something that makes my head spin. His hands leave my waist and slide upward, tangling in my hair, fingers twisting in the dark strands until he has a firm grip, tilting my head just so he has enough access, and suddenly the kiss isn’t slow anymore. It is desperate. Hungry. His lips move against mine with a new urgency, devouring me, as if he wants to consume me whole. He totally takes control, the way his hand leaves my hair and slides down to grab my ass, squeezing hard enough to lift me slightly onto my toes. His breath is coming in rough, uneven gasps, his chest rising and falling against mine. I can feel the way his heart hammers, the wild, erratic rhythm matching my own. His mouth leaves mine only
CHAPTER 12 — A DARE TO KISS MY BULLY.🦋 CATALINA 🦋Kiss! Kiss! Kiss! How did I get into this mess? A few seconds ago, I was challenged to a dare, and Yumeko forced me to say yes, grinning about how fun it would be.I didn't want to, I really didn't want to.When I woke up this morning with my leg and elbow sore, all I wanted to do was lay low, not speak to anyone, or fuck with anyone. But after saying yes to the dare as requested, I am dared to kiss Rook the bully or go Naked… in public, more like telling me to die or die.“Don't do it, he'll kill you!” Tamara warns, her eyes widening in terror.“Do it!” Yumeko voice, grinning happily with wide open eyes.Nabi, staggering from one foot to the other, touches me with one hand while she holds a wine bottle with the other hand, obviously drunk, yet won't stop drinking, taps me with a warm smile, “Don't do it… Catalina,” she blurts out. “It's too dangerous, Rook hates you, he'll kill you by poking his fingers into your eyes... There's so
