Flickering Feelings

Chapter 8

I finally agreed to Avery's plea to meet up. 

Here at the club. The whole light and loud sound of music filled my ears, my heart buzzing loudly behind my ears.

I needed to clear my mind too

Partying has never been my thing 

Was at the get-together party and now here. The constant partying sure is messing my mind.

And obviously Brains too

My heart leaped, my lips grinning in excitement.

Brain's face still tightened. Upset for being dragged here. 

A rare sight 

He isn't one to show his discomforts

Well he gets to pay for ditching on me.

I know he need me around him at the company. But he won't ask

The sly.

Guess getting me on their side is not going as planned for him.

He sure has a long ride ahead. Our sticking together starts here.

Avery waved at me from where she sat with those little demons of hers 

The Sexy-six girls

      “Here comes your girl man. The favourite one” Brain teased, tapping my shoulders 

I rolled my eyes at him. His tightened face now replaced with a scornful smile 

       “You must be having fun… huh” I glared at his 

        “You are the one having fun. Two women all to yourself…” he whispered over my shoulder “Hudson River, the legend”

      “Get off me bastard” 

Favourite one? Funny

There was never anything special about Avery. 

I had just wanted to mingle with the popular girl in school.

Never felt anything for her, nor for anyone else. 

Right?

Yes

My mind paused. Body freezed.

The question rang louder. 

Scenes came flooding. 

Last night.

Unimaginablely my best night with any woman

Her lips locked in mine. My hands moving all over her body. Thick. Full figured. Beautiful 

Her breast full and succulent. I had spent time on them last night 

Had spent time on her body

I shoke off the playing scene as my heart raced. Breath heavy

I swallowed hard. But the memories danced around my mind

‘It was just a one night fun. Nothing special’, I screamed at my mind 

A night stand I’d kill to have again.

Fuck Hudson. Behave

       “Enjoy your night Buddy, again. I'll be in bed” Brain smiled, pulling me out off my fucked up thoughts 

   “You wouldn't dare…”, I blocked him with my left hand, glaring 

    “Come on man…” he groaned 

Brain's never a fan of Avery and her spoilt girls

He's not a fan of anybody

   

    “You made it…” Avery shrank as she rushed into my arms. Placing a soft kiss on my lips

     “I've been calling. Where did you run off to last night?” She pouted, grabbing my arm as she drag me to their reserved space

‘THE SEXY-SIX ROOM”

I scoffed at the intensity of their bravery to choose that name. Or should I say their ignorance and foolishness.

There's nothing sexy about them. They only force themselves on our faces. 

Brain slowly trailied behind

     “So guys… he's finally here” She giggled placing another kiss on my lips 

I know Avery to be a show off and a proud ass. 

I've known her from teenage years

Family dinners and vacations. Our family's were business associates and her mother is a top model in my father's company 

     “Hello Hudson…” the girls waved as I sat with Avery glued to my side

  I darted my eyes away from the amusing scene, grabbing the glass on the table as I gulped down it's content 

Were they expecting a response? From me?

Scoff

I could sense Brain's tightened face held upright. His gaze not meeting any of the girls either. 

Typical Brain 

I tried withdrawing my arms from Avery's hold but she held on to it tight. Like her life depended on it

Maybe it does. Not out of love anyways.

        “Where did you run off to last night leaving me with… Brain” she pouted, her eyes went up and down Brain  

            “Home…” 

      “But you promised to spend last night with me…” 

        “I didn't” I cut in coldly

      “Who were you with last night?” 

That's it 

I dropped the glass, ready to exist. 

The plan was to come have fun but it seems to be a bad idea

    “Babe… What's wrong?” Avery queried her eyes searching my face as she stands on my way 

   “Take care Avery” 

As we swayed to the music, I caught Brain's eye and mouthed "help" behind Avery's back. 

Brain's expression shifted from amusement to understanding, and he nudged Avery

       "I'm so sorry to interrupt, but I need to discuss something urgent with my boss here." His tone was firm but polite.

     “Why now…” she stormed her feet

Of course she understands Brains position as my family too and how much he means to me.

Avery's grip on my arm loosened slightly. Brain's eyes met mine, and I took the opportunity to slip free.

As we escaped the room floor, Avery's disgruntled expression made Brain chuckle.

 "Thanks for the distress signal, man," I said, clapping his hard back.

Did I forget to mention how hot this guy is?

Tightened broad shoulders and all. Maybe next time 

We ducked into the restroom, the sudden silence a welcome respite from the thumping music. 

Brain leaned against the sink, his eyes sparkling with amusement. 

What what's on his mind. Hes about to tease me again 

    “Dony start…” I eyed his tightened jaw, holding his laughter

"Dude, what's going on with you and Avery these days?. Just tell him your feelings"

I shook my head, running a hand through my hair. "No idea. She just won't take no for an answer."

Brain raised an eyebrow. "Maybe you should be clearer this time. Unless you want to keep playing her… And of course Annie too”

     “Shut up... that was a mistake and it's never happening again “ I hissed

        “Are you sure… I feel you would love to have her again”

      “Fuck away Brain”

He chuckles filled the space as he return to his business 

The sound of the music and the hum of the club's ventilation system masked the soft creak of the door.

 I felt an unfamiliar presence.

Someone had slipped into the restroom, standing just behind the partition, but we were too engrossed to notice 

Whatever.. This is a general place afterall

I gotta go rest
